Chapter 101: Groundbreaking Ceremony  

Because Lin Zhizhi and Lu Yi lived in a high-end residential community, security management was quite strict. Non-residents were not allowed to enter freely.  

Secretary Li and her team were only able to enter because Lin Zhizhi had called the security at the gate in advance to inform them.  

When Lin Zhizhi walked out of the building, she saw Secretary Li and two junior secretaries already standing outside the car, waiting and another car was designated for the bodyguards who usually accompanied her.  

Secretary Li, who had been watching the building entrance attentively, immediately stepped forward in her high heels the moment she saw Lin Zhizhi appear.

She stopped two or three steps away from Lin Zhizhi, slightly bowed her head in greeting, and then stepped aside, following behind her as they walked toward the car.  

The two junior secretaries closely followed behind Secretary Li.  

The four bodyguards also noticed Lin Zhizhi right away. When her gaze swept over them, they each positioned themselves at the front and back of the vehicle.

Their tall and strong physiques stood straight as they clasped their hands behind their backs and bowed their heads slightly to acknowledge her presence.  

As Lin Zhizhi was about to reach the car, Secretary Li quickened her pace and stepped forward to open the car door for her.  

Seeing this, Lin Zhizhi nodded slightly at Secretary Li before gracefully taking a seat in the back of the car.  

At that moment, Lin Zhizhi thought that perhaps Secretary Li was not as rigid and inflexible as the other employees had described. She seemed to understand social etiquette well and even took the initiative to serve her boss.  

Lin Zhizhi had also noticed that the two junior secretaries had hesitated, seemingly intending to step forward but ultimately being half a beat slower than Secretary Li.  

Once the bodyguards saw that Lin Zhizhi had entered the car, they simultaneously opened their own doors and got in.

After everyone was seated, the two vehicles quickly started and drove out of the residential community.  

By the time Lin Zhizhi and her team arrived at the groundbreaking ceremony site, the staff had already finished setting up the venue. The other project leaders had long since arrived and were waiting at the entrance.  

After all, Lin Zhizhi was their boss. Upon learning that she would be attending the ceremony in person today, none of them dared to slack off. Each one arrived well in advance, fearing that they would be later than their boss.  

Or rather, they feared that if Lin Zhizhi suddenly had the whim to show up early and caught them arriving later than her, it would not end well for them.

After all, they all knew that although Lin Zhizhi was their boss, she was still a young person. The younger generation today had a more carefree mindset, and they were full of energy. It was not unheard of for them to stay up all night and still show up to work early the next morning.  

The main project leader and his team members had been with Lin Corporation for several years. Every time they saw new employees joining the company, they couldn’t help but sigh together, realizing that they had aged another year.

Especially in recent years, the new recruits seemed to come from a completely different era than them.  

The senior employees often lamented that they had a generation gap with their parents at home and another one with the new employees at work. It was not easy for them!  

During the drive, Secretary Li briefed Lin Zhizhi on the schedule of the groundbreaking ceremony and handed her the prepared speech.  

Lin Zhizhi flipped through it briefly, mentally aligning the speech’s content with the points she wanted to express. She decided that she would not bring the speech on stage but instead speak directly from memory.  

When the car stopped, neither Secretary Li nor the two junior secretaries had the opportunity to step forward. The bodyguards, dressed in well-fitted black suits, had already swiftly gotten out of the car and opened the door for Lin Zhizhi.  

The four bodyguards positioned themselves on either side of Lin Zhizhi. Secretary Li stood slightly ahead to her right, while the two junior secretaries stood behind her.  

Departmental leaders, the main project leader, and project managers, along with other employees following behind them, hurried forward to greet Lin Zhizhi as soon as she stepped out of the car.  

Looking at the employees before her, most of whom were older than herself, Lin Zhizhi maintained a warm smile and responded to their greetings. As they walked, they engaged in casual conversation.  

Lin Zhizhi answered every question and even took the initiative to ask them questions in return, her attitude friendly and approachable.  

The ceremony soon began. Lin Zhizhi sat in the front row with an elegant posture, her demeanor composed and graceful, her smile warm.  

The host, dressed in a crisp suit, took the stage and officially announced the beginning of the ceremony. Then, a senior official from the overseeing authority gave a speech, followed by the project leader, who spoke on behalf of the employees.  

Finally, it was time for the highest-ranking leader to take the stage and officially announce the commencement of the project—Lin Zhizhi.

Lin Zhizhi was undoubtedly the center of attention at the event. It was not just because of her status but also due to her striking appearance and the fact that she was one of the youngest individuals present. That alone made her stand out.  

So, when the host introduced Lin Zhizhi and welcomed her to the stage for her speech, the applause erupted like thunder. The employees clapped so hard that their hands nearly turned red, their eyes gleaming as they fixed their gaze on Lin Zhizhi’s figure.  

One employee whispered to a colleague beside them: “I don’t know why, but watching President Lin step onto the stage gives me goosebumps. I just feel inexplicably excited.”  

“Damn, same here! President Lin is just too good-looking!” The colleague rubbed their arm as if to confirm their reaction.  

As Lin Zhizhi took the few steps up to the stage, she subtly adjusted her breathing. By the time she stood before the audience, she appeared completely composed. She accepted the microphone from the host with a calm and warm demeanor, her gentle smile carrying a reassuring presence.

The subtle tranquility in her expression seemed to soothe the crowd, and soon, the noise in the audience gradually quieted as everyone waited for her to speak.  

Lin Zhizhi maintained her smile, but internally, she was puzzled.

Why is everyone getting so quiet? Keep talking! Or at least look at your phones! I’m not going to deduct your pay, no need to be so nervous!  

She knew that most employees weren’t particularly eager to listen to their leaders give formal speeches. After all, everyone had been in similar situations before and understood how these speeches usually went.  

However, the employees had no way of knowing what Lin Zhizhi was thinking. To them, the woman standing on the stage was their ultimate boss, the person who provided their livelihood.

Who would dare to challenge her authority by appearing inattentive?  

Besides, listening to a beautiful woman speak was a treat both visually and spiritually—how could they not enjoy it?  

After Lin Zhizhi finished her speech, she officially activated the ceremony’s device, marking the commencement of the project. Another round of enthusiastic applause followed.

Then, the other leaders took the stage for a group photo.  

Once the ceremony concluded, the attendees, led by the senior officials present, proceeded to tour the site together.
