Easy To Deceive
Easy To Deceive chapter 10

When he returned to his position, Yu Nian had already changed into his work clothes.

The two locked eyes across the bar counter.

There was still a crumb of biscuit stuck at the corner of Yu Nian’s mouth, from the chef feeding him just now.

Although they had spent last night together and somewhat broken the ice, after more than a week of tension, Yu Nian still wasn’t quite accustomed to it and involuntarily tightened his lips.

But a few seconds later, he relaxed again, muttering under his breath, “The wound isn’t healed yet, are you not afraid of it splitting open?”

He felt that Qi Wang didn’t appreciate his efforts.

After all, it was him who had taken him to the clinic yesterday.

He sneered, thinking, Don’t expect me to care if it splits open again.

He didn’t expect Qi Wang to start a conversation either. He was about to take the menu and leave, but the next moment, he heard Qi Wang say, “I’ll be careful.”

Yu Nian’s steps toward the exit suddenly halted.

He stared at Qi Wang as if he had seen a ghost.

Qi Wang, having finished washing a measuring cup in his hand, looked up and saw Yu Nian’s expression. Not knowing what had struck a chord, he actually smiled faintly.

He usually looked like an iceberg, but this gentle curve of his lips was like a breeze, softening his whole demeanor.

Yu Nian couldn’t help but snort.

Bloody hell.

Had the sun risen from the west? He could actually see Qi Wang smiling at him.

But what was even more bizarre to him was what came next. Qi Wang asked him, “Do you want coffee? I can make you some. There’s a new blend, you can try it.”

Yu Nian: “…”

This world was truly going downhill.

After about fifteen seconds of chaos in his mind, Yu Nian finally calmed down.

He looked at Qi Wang and understood his goodwill. The good deed from last night hadn’t been in vain. He woke up, and Qi Wang had indeed changed his attitude, no longer treating him like air.

Feeling triumphant, he raised his chin a bit. He had intended to keep a straight face, but he couldn’t hold it for long and ended up breaking into a smile.

He chuckled.

When he smiled, he revealed his small tiger teeth, his naturally charming face, his eyes tinged amber in the sunlight, like honey.

“If you insist on making it, it’s not like I object,” he pointed at the menu, “I’ll have the Cheese Sea Salt Latte.”

Qi Wang nodded, indicating he had received the order.

In the afternoon, Yu Nian finally got his requested Cheese Latte.

Thank goodness, after drinking various flavors of juice for so many days, he had had enough.

With half an hour left until he had to play the piano, and with few customers in the shop, he rested on a high stool near the bar counter, with Qi Wang beside him.

He didn’t hold grudges either.

Just as the two had broken the ice, he approached Qi Wang again, just like the neighboring husky.

But this time, he was a bit more cautious, asking for Qi Wang’s consent before pulling down his collar.

“It’s fine, no bleeding,” Yu Nian checked Qi Wang’s bandaged wound and breathed a sigh of relief, “If you mess it up, you’ll have to go to the hospital.”

Qi Wang wasn’t concerned, “It’s not that easy.”

Yu Nian clicked his tongue, wondering who the person was who fell yesterday?

But he didn’t say it out loud.

Heaven bless, finally, he could peacefully get along with Qi Wang now; he didn’t want any other hiccups.

The person next to them saw Yu Nian and Qi Wang sitting together so harmoniously and found it quite surprising.

As soon as Qi Wang left, Xiao Gu immediately sat down and poked Yu Nian’s arm.

Ever since she saw Qi Wang sitting with Yu Nian just now, she had been extremely curious.

“What’s going on between you and Qi Wang?” she asked Yu Nian, her face full of gossip, “Did you make up? Just a few days ago, you were still holding a grudge.”

Yu Nian was playing a simple game on his phone, and although he was a bit absent-minded, he still understood Xiao Gu’s question.

He chuckled.

“What grudge? It’s not like we had a huge falling out,” he shrugged, “If you must know, let’s just say we’ve let bygones be bygones.”

But when Xiao Gu pressed for more, he remained silent.

Xiao Gu’s curiosity was not satisfied, so she pinched him lightly and ran off.

That evening, Yu Nian and Qi Wang went back together.

It wasn’t that their relationship had suddenly taken a leap to inseparability.

Purely because Qi Wang couldn’t ride a motorcycle due to his back injury, so he had to take the same bus route back with Yu Nian.

Bus No. 33.

As it was already the late shift, there weren’t many people on the bus. Yu Nian led Qi Wang straight to the last row.

Midway through the bus ride, Yu Nian started feeling a bit sleepy. At first, he tried not to fall asleep, but perhaps the husky voice in his earphones was too hypnotic. In just a few seconds, his head tilted, and he bumped into Qi Wang’s shoulder.

Qi Wang’s shoulder sank slightly.

He glanced back and saw Yu Nian’s face pressed against his shoulder. Although not chubby, when his face was squeezed, it seemed a bit plump.

Despite his injury on his back, he didn’t feel any pain from Yu Nian leaning against him lightly.

He remembered this afternoon when he saw Xiao Gu pinching Yu Nian’s face. Yu Nian’s face was white and soft, and even though she didn’t exert much force, it left two red marks that took a while to fade.

It looked like it felt really good.

Qi Wang stared at Yu Nian’s innocent sleeping face, feeling an inexplicable itchiness in his hands.

But in the end, he didn’t do anything. He just turned his face away and looked out the window, where the neon lights formed a shimmering galaxy in the night.

Yu Nian didn’t wake up until he reached his doorstep. When he realized he had been sleeping on Qi Wang’s shoulder the whole way, the expression on his face was nothing short of spectacular.

He touched his own mouth, feeling very anxious. “I didn’t drool, did I?”

“Nope,” Qi Wang replied as he got off the bus, casting a glance at him. “But you were grinding your teeth the whole time.”

Yu Nian: “…”

Just leaning on someone’s shoulder was suffocating for him. Yu Nian followed Qi Wang into the apartment building with a gloomy expression.

When the two opened their respective doors, it was already nine o’clock. Qi Wang didn’t have to work the night shift these days as he was recovering from his injury.

Everyone went back to their own rooms.

Before entering his own apartment, Yu Nian rested his hand on the door, looking at Qi Wang and said, “See you tomorrow.”

There was a click as the door on Qi Wang’s side also opened.

His hand rested on the doorknob, and he turned back to look at Yu Nian for a few seconds before saying softly, “See you tomorrow.”

Yu Nian had been feeling great these past few days.

It’s true what they say, doing good deeds brings rewards.

A while back, he was cold-shouldering Qi Wang, but when two people live under the same roof, it’s impossible to ignore each other completely.

Moreover, Qi Wang always had that icy face, and he didn’t care about the attitude of the other person. In the end, he was the one who ended up being annoyed.

But now things were different.

Ever since he lent a helping hand and accompanied Qi Wang to the clinic, Qi Wang’s tolerance towards him had increased by 80 percent.

Although he still didn’t show much expression and didn’t laugh at his cold jokes, compared to when he first started working, it felt like spring now.

And when the wound on his back healed and the stitches were removed, Qi Wang even offered to ride him home on his motorcycle.

Wow.

That was so cool.

Yu Nian thought so and said it out loud.

Qi Wang heard him. They were waiting at a traffic light, and Qi Wang, with his long legs stretched out on the ground, couldn’t quite understand. “What’s so cool about that?”

He had long passed the age of wanting to impress people with reckless driving.

“It’s really cool,” Yu Nian exclaimed as he hugged Qi Wang’s waist, “I’ve always thought riding a motorcycle in movies is so cool, super stylish. Have you seen Terminator? Schwarzenegger riding a motorcycle on the highway, so cool. My sister won’t let me ride, otherwise, I…”

Yu Nian stopped there.

Because the next thing he wanted to say was that otherwise he would have gone for that Kawasaki H2 as soon as he turned eighteen.

But that statement clearly didn’t fit his hardworking, frugal image, so he swallowed it back.

Qi Wang didn’t pay any attention to it.

Although he knew Yu Nian had siblings, he had never been curious about Yu Nian’s family background.

Anyway, the teenager leaning on his back now was just a passing guest in his life, who would soon dissipate like clouds and mist.

But maybe it was because Yu Nian had been taking up so much of his time lately.

He thought of this scene, and surprisingly, he didn’t feel as relieved as he had expected.

When they arrived at their destination, Yu Nian quickly got off the motorcycle.

“Sir, two bowls of duck blood vermicelli soup, one without duck liver, and also two chicken cutlets,” Qi Wang stopped the bike and followed him in.

Yu Nian had discovered this vermicelli soup joint, and often came here for dinner after work. Sometimes, he would drag Qi Wang along too.

The owner was getting a bit familiar with them.

It’s no wonder, both Yu Nian and Qi Wang were exceptionally good-looking, especially Qi Wang. When he sat down with his long legs, even in a shabby little shop, he still attracted attention.

The owner’s daughter, who helped out in the shop, always liked to sneak glances at them, but she was usually silent and never spoke.

Yu Nian grabbed two pairs of chopsticks, rinsed them with hot water, and handed one pair to Qi Wang.

The duck blood vermicelli soup arrived, and Yu Nian took the one without duck liver, added a spoonful of chili, and happily took a sip.

While eating, he asked Qi Wang, “Are you still going to work at the bar tonight?”

“Yeah,” Qi Wang replied.

Yu Nian looked at Qi Wang with round eyes.

He was a bit curious about what Qi Wang did at the bar at night, because Qi Wang usually didn’t come back until two or three in the morning, sometimes even until dawn.

Yu Nian was worried, wondering if he could get enough sleep, but he guessed that it was because of his young and strong body that he could endure such a schedule.

But no matter how many times he asked, Qi Wang never took him with him, saying that the bar wasn’t suitable for him.

Yu Nian couldn’t help but sigh, feeling very frustrated. He had finally managed to sneak out of the strict atmosphere at home, only to run into Qi Wang outside who treated him like a child.

Isn’t it infuriating?
