Chapter 93 1/2
“Dad, it seems like I’ve differentiated into an Omega,” Jiang Li said calmly.
Jiang Wanlan instantly forgot about his own hidden illness and leaned in to look at the instrument. “Is the instrument malfunctioning? Why does it still show you’re in the susceptible period?”
The Omega susceptible period tends to crave the presence of Alphas, and the symptoms are quite obvious.
Jiang Wanlan suddenly caught sight of the redness on Jiang Li’s nape, reminiscent of the early susceptible period.
He rushed to the medical table at the fastest speed of his life. “Please give me a suppressive patch, thank you!”
The nurse had seen Jiang Wanlan several times already, but it was the first time she saw him so anxious. She quickly retrieved an emergency suppressive patch from the drawer. “It’s highly effective.”
Jiang Wanlan was trembling with fear until the suppressive patch was applied to Jiang Li’s nape.
Jiang Li lowered his head, letting his dad apply the suppressive patch. “It’s okay.”
“Dad, you don’t need to worry. Look, my pheromones haven’t caused any chaos.”
Standing here as an Omega with a high concentration of susceptibility, the passing Alphas were unaffected — of course, his attractiveness might draw some attention.
Jiang Li had some speculation in his heart.
His pheromones wouldn’t induce Alphas into heat. Judging by his dad’s condition, there might even be an opposite effect.
He witnessed the suffering of Cen Lang, too exhausted and anxious these days due to Cen Lang’s storm syndrome, neglecting the changes in his body.
Or perhaps, the fact that he remained unaffected by the strongest Alpha’s pheromone storm of Cen Lang was strange in itself, and it was normal for him to be induced into differentiation late.
Medically, some people identified as Omega reserves but didn’t differentiate for a long time. Worried about the congenital atrophy of the glands, they would induce differentiation with Alpha pheromones.
Jiang Wanlan was dumbfounded. “Baby, let’s test again.”
Jiang Li: “Okay.”
They switched to another instrument, but the result was the same.
Jiang Wanlan’s first reaction was, “Baby, you’ve skipped a lot of physical training before.”
Jiang Li’s face turned embarrassed.
Lu Jing was a soldier, naturally hoping his son would develop a strong physique.
Jiang Li had to go to the laboratory for experiments at times, and sometimes to Cen Lang’s house, escaping eight or nine out of ten times. Lu Jing couldn’t bring himself to be strict with him, so he let him be.
Differentiating into an Omega was different. Omegas, due to their pheromones, naturally had a disadvantage when facing Alphas and needed strength to protect themselves.
Lu Jing must be regretting it.
Jiang Li analyzed, “Dad, my pheromones might affect the effectiveness of suppressants. You should stay away from me for a while to see if it helps.”
Jiang Wanlan was astonished. “Would I let my susceptible son live outside?”
Jiang Li pondered, “It should be safe to go to Cen Lang’s place.”
“No!” Jiang Wanlan used to think Cen Lang’s place was safe, but now, “Jiang Baby, Cen Lang is also an unmarried Alpha.”
He would rather suffer from erectile dysfunction for a month than risk Jiang Li’s susceptible period.
Jiang Li hesitated, “It might not be a short-term suppressant.”
What if it’s long-term?
Jiang Wanlan said, “…You stay at home, we can go out.”
Jiang Wanlan arranged a confidential physical examination for Jiang Li. After the examination, he immediately took his son home. “It’s best to stay at home throughout the first susceptible period to observe the situation and have some peace of mind.”
Lu Jing had no idea what had happened. Seeing Jiang Wanlan return with a serious expression holding the medical report, his brows furrowed with worry. “Did you go for a check-up?”
Jiang Wanlan said, “Lu Jing, our son has differentiated into an Omega.”
Various suppressants and their effects flashed through Lu Jing’s mind; he thought Jiang Li wouldn’t have to go through all that.
Jiang Wanlan said, “The good news is, our son’s pheromones might be a suppressant in human form, keeping those around him clear-headed.”
Lu Jing said, “That’s good, but how certain are you? Is it a hundred percent?”
This kind of thing couldn’t be guaranteed. If precautions weren’t taken during the susceptible period, the consequences could be unpredictable.
Jiang Wanlan looked at him, “Not very certain, but you can provide some evidence.”
“He suspected Lu Jing was also… pretending like nothing had happened. If he had known he was so worried, would he have been so anxious?
He could accept two people growing old together, gradually losing their pheromonal passion, and living in harmony. But he couldn’t let one person stride ahead alone.
Lu Jing’s body stiffened, making it hard for him to speak, wanting to remain silent.
Jiang Wanlan shook his arm. “Do you think staying silent will solve anything?”
Lu Jing closed his eyes and admitted in front of his wife and child, “Yes, I’m not an exception.”
Jiang Wanlan wanted to laugh but restrained himself, saying to his son, “Baby, this is the best pheromone I’ve ever seen. Don’t burden yourself with anything.”
Jiang Li said, “I agree.”
Lu Jing thought differently, being an Alpha.
Jiang Wanlan set up a pheromone concentration tester and rented a house outside the safe range of Jiang Li’s pheromones.
With Jiang Li wearing the suppressive patch, his aggressiveness decreased significantly, so the dads still stayed in the military compound and borrowed an empty villa.
In reality, Jiang Li wanted to go to the lab immediately to analyze his own pheromones and incorporate them into medication. However, his dad wanted him to focus on his first susceptible period and record various changes in his body data.
“No need to rush.” Jiang Li took a deep breath, pondered for a moment, and dialed Cen Lang’s number.
There was a vintage desk phone on his desk, a gift from Cen Lang, dark green and very classical. Cen Lang said that whenever he had any thoughts while studying, he could immediately call him to share.
This phone had accompanied Jiang Li from elementary school to university. It had broken once in middle school, and Cen Lang even brought tools to fix it.
Ring, ring, ring.
After three rings, Cen Lang answered, “Hello, Jiang Baby.”
Jiang Li said, “I’ve grown up, don’t call me baby.”
Cen Lang readily complied, “Okay, Dr. Xiao Jiang.”
Jiang Li sought –>>
