Chapter 95 1/2
“Jiang Li’s first kiss left his mind blank. Cen Lang licked the tiny wound on his lips, as if soothing pain, but also seeking more blood.
The underground city was like a huge echo chamber, with Jiang Li’s ears filled with embarrassing sounds.
The wound bled limitedly, and after clotting, Cen Lang instinctively sought Jiang Li’s nape gland, seeking more pheromones.
Jiang Li was grateful that the pheromones he produced suited Cen Lang, yet at certain moments, he detested the instincts born from pheromones.
Was it anyone’s game?
He asked, “Who am I?”
Cen Lang firmly replied, “Jiang Li.”
Jiang Li said, “No, I’m the Omega your grandfather brought.”
Cen Lang wanted to bite his gland, but Jiang Li resisted. After inhaling the pheromones, Cen Lang, slightly more sober, angrily said, “Can’t I recognize your voice?”
“I know it’s you just by touching your hand.”
Jiang Li continued, “Then you know I’m a Beta. What are you looking for?”
This stumped Cen Lang. Even with limited rationality, even if rationality returned to a fraction, he couldn’t figure out why Jiang Li seemed like an Omega.
It was like putting a bowl of meat in front of a hungry, green-eyed wolf, then asking him to solve an arithmetic problem first.
Damn it, besides Jiang Li, who else could torture him like this?
Cen Lang was so frustrated, his head hurt, and his… ahem hurt.
He couldn’t explain why he wanted Jiang Li’s gland. Annoyed, he said, “My grandfather knows I like you, he wouldn’t find me an Omega!”
Rumble, Jiang Li blinked. Was there just thunder on the ground?
What did he hear?
Jiang Li’s thought brought back a shred of rationality to Cen Lang. He painfully let go of Jiang Li, unwillingly like a wolf releasing its prey it had just bitten.
He couldn’t think deeper. All he knew was that Jiang Li was his younger brother, and he couldn’t indulge in his desires. Jiang Li would be angry.
The next moment, Jiang Li leaned his neck forward. “Brother, I’m an Omega.”
The word “brother” made Cen Lang’s blood flow backwards. How long had it been since Jiang Li called him brother so affectionately?
“Try biting me.”
Rationality shattered in a second, and Cen Lang pounced on Jiang Li.
…
Jiang Li called out “brother” several times before Cen Lang let go of him.
There were military rations in the underground city, so Jiang Li wasn’t lacking in food or drink. But he had to leave. It was getting dark, and his father would worry if he wasn’t home.
If he didn’t leave now, he wouldn’t be able to leave at all.
Jiang Li’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Cen Lang’s pheromones had triggered his susceptibility period earlier than expected, making him feel like he’d just been pulled out of water.
When his susceptibility period reached its peak, even if Cen Lang told him to leave, he wouldn’t be able to move.
“I’ll be back soon, brother.”
Jiang Li didn’t know who he was fooling with. His words sounded childish, “I’ll be back after school.”
Back in high school, they often said this to each other. Apart from class time, they did all their homework together after school.
Cen Lang, feeling separation anxiety, escorted Jiang Li to the hidden door of the bathroom, then sat down there.
Once the door closed, Jiang Li staggered. He glanced at the time. It was too late. Dad must be home by now. Jiang Li’s legs trembled as he stood on the skateboard.
Fortunately, the skateboard had an electric mode. Jiang Li crouched down while standing, and when he reached the door to his basement, he manually braked with his hands on the ground.
He leaned against the door, listening to the footsteps of his two dads above. Jiang Wanlan called him for dinner.
He couldn’t afford to be seen like this.
Jiang Li leaned against the door, took out his phone, and called his dad, “Dad, my susceptibility period has come. You and Dad should find another place to stay.”
“Jiang Wanlan hastily packed up their belongings, asking as he went, ‘Baby, where are you?’
Jiang Li replied, ‘I’m in the basement organizing old stuff, and suddenly… Please don’t come down.’
‘Dinner’s ready, remember to eat!’ Jiang Wanlan and Lu Jing swiftly left home.
Jiang Li’s eyes drooped as he slowly moved to the table, spooning up egg drop soup and fried sauce noodles.
He felt sorry for his dad. He hadn’t even touched the dishes on the table before he was sent away.
‘I didn’t really lie, did I?’ Jiang Li felt guilty for a moment.
Well, maybe not.
Jiang Li took a video of himself picking up food with chopsticks, letting his dad know he was eating.
Jiang Wanlan instructed him to take care of himself.
Jiang Li leaned on the staircase going upstairs. He had originally intended to lie down for a while upstairs, but as he passed by his dad’s room, he hesitated.
Should he…?
Jiang Li audaciously rummaged through his dad’s room but found no contraceptive products in the bedside table or drawers.
None.
If Dad didn’t use them, then he wouldn’t either.
With such a high fertility rate, there was no need for contraception.
Jiang Li returned to his room, lying flat like a pancake, closing his eyes. The scene of Cen Lang seeing him off flashed before his eyes.
Jiang Li turned over, his body feeling feverish.
He had made a promise to Cen Lang.
He couldn’t leave before Cen Lang regained consciousness. What if someone else came in?
Should he walk into the lion’s den again?
Jiang Li tossed and turned, then got up.
Before entering the basement, he noticed the remaining half of the meal out of the corner of his eye.
Jiang Li paused, tore open a plastic bag, and poured some dumplings onto a plate.
He carried the bag of leftovers. If Jiang Wanlan saw him, he would probably think his son was going to feed stray dogs.
What a caring son.
Cen Lang obediently stayed in the bathroom. The moment Jiang Li returned, his half-closed eyes immediately opened.
“Wait!” Jiang Li called out, “Sit over there.”
With a stern look, Jiang Li commanded, “Sit properly. I brought dumplings for you.”
Jiang Li disinfected his palm, holding Cen Lang’s hand and guiding it to the bag of dumplings. “Just use your hands to grab them.”
Cen Lang ate the dumplings one after another, as if he had an urgent task after finishing.
Jiang Li felt his Adam’s apple, counting, “Chew a few more times.”
Cen Lang thought, why slow down sometimes and speed up at other times?
So many demands.
Couldn’t he eat a few more bites when he bit Jiang Li?
After eating the food Jiang Li brought from home, Cen Lang subconsciously patted his pockets, wanting to exchange food.
But he wasn’t wearing pants.
Cen Lang went to find his pants.
“What are you looking for?”
