Chapter 95 2/2
“Candy.”
Cen Lang reached into his own pocket and pulled out a piece of grapefruit-flavored soft candy, unwrapping it. “Here, have it.”
Jiang Li’s mouth was filled with a sweet candy. He savored it, catching a hint of grapefruit fragrance.
Cen Lang liked to bring some snacks, all for Jiang Li. Even if Jiang Li didn’t want them, he wouldn’t give them to anyone else.
Cen Lang asked, “Is it sweet?”
Jiang Li replied, “Yes.”
Cen Lang said, “I want to taste it too.”
…
Jiang Li had read in the book “Ancient Social Life” about a professor’s hypothesis regarding the mating mechanism of ancient leaders.
He proposed a concept of “pheromone collision” – only the pheromone collision between the strongest Alpha and Omega could guarantee each other’s uniqueness and exclusivity. Alphas couldn’t find others, and Omegas wouldn’t be targeted by other Alphas, thus ensuring their own status and bloodline.
The term “collision” was quite fitting in many aspects.
…
Cen Lang dreamed that Jiang Li told him he was an Omega. That must have been a dream.
Jiang Li was a Beta!
Cen Lang let himself dream, as it wasn’t the first time.
He dreamed of sharing food with Jiang Li like they did when they were kids. Jiang Li gave him dumplings, and he gave Jiang Li candy.
What a loving brotherly bond, and yet he dared to think of other things!
Cen Lang dreamed that Jiang Li told him he had to go to class.
He saw Jiang Li off to university, where Jiang Li became the pride of the sky, with many admirers. Cen Lang felt jealous and gloomy.
The beautiful dream ended with jealousy.
It’s a waste of such a good plotline!
Cen Lang rubbed his eyes in the dark, moving his limbs. Something didn’t feel right. Had he run around four hundred laps during his episode?
He had run but didn’t remember. Things were getting worse.
He had exhausted himself physically, so it didn’t feel wrong. Cen Lang got up, trying to simulate what he had done based on the degree of fatigue in different parts of his body.
Push-ups? Squats? Weighted running?
The categories seemed a bit complicated, and Cen Lang fell into contemplation.
There was a unique scent in the air, something Cen Lang couldn’t quite place, but upon careful thought, it didn’t seem to match any known smell.
Cen Lang recalled Jiang Li’s sweet calls of “brother” in his dream, more melodious than any time before.
So, susceptibility period dreams are in high definition?
He had always spent his susceptibility period in a mess, enduring days like years alone in the underground city. Once it passed, his brain automatically blocked out that period of memory to prevent physical breakdown.
This time was no different.
Cen Lang unreasonably wanted to see Jiang Li very much, but he was like a tomato before going to market. He had to be tested by a professional agency for pesticide residues to ensure safety before seeing Jiang Li.
After each susceptibility period, Cen Lang had to check if there was any excess pheromone residue. The feeling of waiting for the results was even more nerve-wracking than before a major interstellar battle.
If the pheromone exceeded the standard, it meant the pesticide residue exceeded the standard, and he would only rot in the ground.
Cen Lang went for testing this time, and the results unexpectedly turned out well.
The machine lit up green, shining like a gem.
During his sudden loss of control,
he didn’t dare to hope for the luck of being reborn from the brink of death.
Cen Lang went to find Jiang Li,
but Jiang Li said he was in the lab and would come out in a couple of days.
Jiang Li said, “I’m developing your medicine. One pill can cure you for a lifetime.”
Cen Lang was speechless, as it sounded like a health product scam.
Cen Lang: “I feel much better. Don’t worry.”
Jiang Li: “It’s okay. You’ll be fine soon. Just wait for me.”
Cen Lang pretended to be calm and asked, “Is it that medicine with side effects?”
Jiang Li: “Huh?”
Cen Lang asked strangely, “Does physical impotence not affect your psyche?”
Doesn’t it affect his dreams?
Uncontrolled dreams were originally a very troublesome thing, each time cruelly destroying his self-control.
But Cen Lang was starting to feel a bit reluctant now.
Taste of the marrow.
Jiang Li asked, “What do you mean?”
Cen Lang replied, “Can’t you still dream about it?”
Jiang Li lowered his eyelashes, realizing that Cen Lang indeed didn’t remember. He hadn’t left until the end, fearing that Cen Lang wouldn’t remember what had happened, which would be embarrassing for both of them.
“Others may remain indifferent, but you…” Jiang Li trailed off.
Cen Lang: “No.”
Cen Lang breathed a sigh of relief.
Jiang Li tossed the phone aside and fell asleep with exhaustion.
Two days later, Jiang Li casually grabbed a fish oil pill and arranged to meet Cen Lang.
Jiang Li wrapped himself in a woolen scarf, covering his neck and chin, with only a small cut on his bright red lips visible.
Cen Lang: “What happened to your lips?”
Jiang Li: “Staying up late caused them to get dry.”
Cen Lang stared at them for a long time, muttering that it didn’t seem quite right.
Jiang Li took out a medicine bottle from his pocket and tossed it onto the table.
“Brother, take your medicine.”
Cen Lang’s eyes trembled slightly. Jiang Li even called him brother to get him to take the medicine, so it must… undoubtedly cause impotence.
Cen Lang had thought about pursuing Jiang Li, but his pheromone storm syndrome doomed them from being intimate.
Taking this medicine might give him a chance.
But…
Cen Lang humbly asked, “Dr. Jiang, is it reversible?”
Jiang Li raised an eyebrow, “Are you asking if, in case you regret it, you want to reverse back to the storm syndrome state?”
Cen Lang: “Yeah.”
Jiang Li mercilessly replied, “Impossible.”
Hope shattered, Cen Lang picked up the medicine bottle with a heavy heart. If he confessed before impotence, would it seem like moral coercion?
If it was after impotence… he couldn’t bring himself to speak.
Cen Lang was tangled up like a pretzel.
Jiang Li looked on with relief, thinking it served him right for forgetting.
Cen Lang had a sudden idea, “I’ll take it next time I lose control.”
He had a feeling that he wouldn’t lose control again in the short term.
Jiang Li chuckled and sighed, “I was kidding. There are no impotence side effects. How could I give you such medicine?”
“In that case, I’d be too useless, brother.”
