Chapter 11: A Medical Space Suddenly Revealed
“Someone come quickly, my little brother can’t breathe!”
At those words, everyone immediately ran toward the two siblings.
They saw that Zhuangzhuang’s face had already turned bright red from choking, and he was on the verge of suffocating.
At that moment, everyone realized what was happening—he had accidentally choked while eating!
Zhuangzhuang’s parents were beside themselves with worry. His mother held him tightly and cried out: “Grandfather, what should we do?!”
All eyes turned toward the head of the family, the old master.
Grandfather Lu remained relatively calm. “Quick, take him to the hospital!”
Just as Zhuangzhuang’s mother was about to rush out while holding him, Su Zhiyi suddenly reached out and stopped her, speaking urgently. “There’s no time! Give Zhuangzhuang to me—I can save him!”
While Zhuangzhuang’s mother hesitated, the ever-annoying Lu Qingyu interrupted to stop her. “Sister-in-law, you absolutely can’t trust her! She’s just a wild girl from the countryside, what would she know about emergency treatment! You—”
“Shut up!” Su Zhiyi cut her off coldly, her eyes sharp.
She then looked firmly at Eldest Sister-in-law Lu. “Trust me!”
Eldest Sister-in-law Lu looked into her determined eyes, and a voice inside her told her to believe in Su Zhiyi.
Without hesitation, she handed Zhuangzhuang over to her.
The moment Su Zhiyi took Zhuangzhuang into her arms, she immediately began performing the Heimlich maneuver as guided by the knowledge in her mind.
She turned Zhuangzhuang’s small body so his back was against her, formed one hand into a hollow fist, gripped it with the other hand, and forcefully thrust it upward into his abdomen.
Once… twice… three times…
As Su Zhiyi focused entirely on saving Zhuangzhuang with the utmost concentration, Lu Qingyu, who had been watching like it was a show, wouldn’t keep her mouth shut.
“Su Zhiyi, put Zhuangzhuang down right now! Sister-in-law, you’re being foolish!
How could you so easily trust a wild girl from the countryside like her? You’re really—”
“Shut up!” came a low and icy voice.
Though Lu Hanchuan told Lu Qingyu to shut up, his eyes never left Su Zhiyi’s face.
Seeing the faint sheen of sweat starting to appear on her petite face, he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of heartache.
Just as he was about to step forward to take over the rescue from Su Zhiyi—
With a sudden thud, a choking sound was followed by Zhuangzhuang’s loud wailing: “Mommy! Wuwuwu, that was so awful! Baby was so scared!”
At that, everyone finally let out a collective sigh of relief, the anxiety in their chests easing.
Eldest Sister-in-law Lu looked full of gratitude as she took Zhuangzhuang back into her arms.
She couldn’t stop herself from expressing her gratitude as she said: “Zhizhi, thank you so, so much! I really can’t thank you enough!”
Lu Hanting also looked deeply grateful. “Zhiyi, you truly are our family’s lifesaver!
If you ever need help with anything in the future, just say the word!”
Little Yingying, still frightened, cried out: “Wuwuwu, it’s all my fault for not keeping an eye on my little brother!”
Seeing this, Su Zhiyi immediately squatted down and gently reached out to wipe away the tears on Yingying’s small face.
Her voice was soft and comforting as she spoke to soothe her. “Yingying, be good now, no more tears.
You’re still a little child who needs adults to take care of you.
This was just an accident—you don’t have to blame yourself.
Besides, it was because you shouted so loudly for help that everyone came running.
That’s how I was able to save Zhuangzhuang in time. So, Yingying, you did amazing! You’re the smartest little one!”
Upon hearing this, Yingying immediately stopped crying and opened her big teary eyes wide. “Really? Is Yingying really the smartest little one?”
Su Zhiyi’s eyes curved with a gentle smile. “That’s right! Our Yingying is the smartest little one!”
Hearing this, Yingying finally smiled with joy, her mouth wide in a cheerful grin. “Mm-hmm! Yingying is the smartest little one!”
At this moment, Chen Hua, who had remained silent the entire time, reached out and lovingly patted her little head. “Yes, Yingying is the smartest little one.”
Then a shadow of sadness fell across her expression as she added: “If only I had a daughter this adorable…”
Standing beside her, Lu Hanjing noticed the pain in his wife’s eyes and couldn’t help but gently pull her into his arms. “You will.” he said softly.
Hearing this, everyone around them also felt a pang of sympathy for Chen Hua.
Su Zhiyi saw all of this and felt deeply sorry for her as well.
Although she had just awakened her Medical Space moments ago, and had successfully saved Zhuangzhuang, there were still many people present. It was inevitable that someone might start asking questions.
What’s more, she had only just met Chen Hua for the first time and didn’t yet understand her character well.
The existence of her medical space was far too mysterious.
If this secret were to be exposed, the consequences would be unimaginable.
So Su Zhiyi decided she would ask Mother Lu about Chen Hua’s character when the opportunity arose before deciding whether or not to treat her.
But for now, Mother Lu was surrounded by people constantly trying to chat with her.
Left with no other option, Su Zhiyi quietly made her way over to Lu Hanchuan, reached out her small hand, and gently tugged on his sleeve.
Feeling the slight pull on his sleeve, Lu Hanchuan looked down—and was met with Su Zhiyi’s clear, starry eyes.
He could tell she wanted to speak with him.
So he turned to Lu Hanting, who was beside him. “Big Brother, I…”
Lu Hanting immediately nodded in understanding. “I get it. Go on.”
Lu Hanchuan, seeing the teasing smile on Lu Hanting’s face, grew worried that Su Zhiyi might get embarrassed.
So he immediately dropped his expression into a cold glare and shot a warning look at Lu Hanting.
Lu Hanting got the message at once and quickly wiped the smile off his face, nodding with an “I understand” look.
Su Zhiyi saw the subtle exchange between the two men and couldn’t help but shake her head in amusement.
After that, she followed Lu Hanchuan to his room.
Once inside, Lu Hanchuan turned and looked at Su Zhiyi, who was smiling brightly. “What is it? What did you want to tell me?”
Hearing that, Su Zhiyi put away her smile.
She stepped forward with a serious expression. “Brother Lu, what kind of person is your second sister-in-law?”
Lu Hanchuan immediately grew suspicious. “Why are you asking about her?”
A look of sympathy spread across Su Zhiyi’s face. “I noticed she really loves children…”
“Zhizhi, don’t get involved!”
Lu Hanchuan instantly understood what she was implying and quickly interrupted her.
Seeing that the girl was startled by his raised voice and froze in place, he felt a deep pang of regret and quickly apologized.
“Sorry, Zhizhi, I didn’t mean to yell at you. I just…”
Suddenly thinking of something, he reached out and pulled her to the innermost part of the room.
Then, in a low and serious voice, he quietly explained: “Zhizhi, I know you have a kind heart, but your ability is… extraordinary.
There’s no guarantee people won’t start becoming suspicious of you…”
“You already knew?” Hearing his words, Su Zhiyi immediately understood.
So, he had already noticed the miraculous nature of her abilities.
Lu Hanchuan looked at her, his face filled with worry, and nodded. He seemed like he wanted to say more but hesitated.
Seeing that, Su Zhiyi smiled warmly at him. “Brother Lu, aren’t you afraid of me?”
Looking at her radiant smile, Lu Hanchuan couldn’t help but chuckle softly and shake his head. “I’m not. I believe in your ability. My ankle is the best proof of that.”
As he spoke, he patted his right leg.
Then, his expression turned serious again as he looked at Su Zhiyi. “But this ability… will it hurt you?”
Su Zhiyi smiled faintly and shook her head. “Brother Lu, don’t worry, I understand what you mean.
I promise you—I haven’t told anyone about this, and it doesn’t hurt me at all.
Besides, saving a life is more meritorious than building a seven-story pagoda, isn’t it?”
Even after hearing that, Lu Hanchuan still looked at her with a serious expression. “Still, you must be very careful.”
Su Zhiyi’s eyes curved into a smile as she nodded her little head. “I will be very careful.
Besides, I have you, don’t I? I believe you’ll definitely protect me!”
