When the vehicle stopped in a suburban area, Ding Nana and her two companions were on edge, uncertain about what awaited them next.
Their eyes and mouths were covered, leaving only their ears to hear sounds, heightening their fear as they had no idea where they were, amplifying their sense of dread.
The whistling of the wind filled their ears, the cold breeze chilling them to the bone, causing involuntary shivers.
Guided by towering men, they were led forward without knowing the direction or destination, eventually entering a building. The door closed, cutting off the howling wind, yet their bodies remained cold, the chill intensifying.
Inside the spacious building resembling a warehouse, it was not abandoned but part of their territory where they trained and lived regularly.
This area fell under the jurisdiction of Young Master Xuanyi, with them outwardly affiliated with Second Master Lu, but in reality, Master Xuan held the true authority.
Inside the room were several tall men, each sporting a buzz cut and dressed in black attire like the others.
After the six men ushered Ding Nana and her friends into the room, they were thrown into a corner. The men checked the bindings to ensure they were secure before settling down in a relaxed manner.
One of them inquired, “When will the others arrive? Second Master will return soon. If we don’t have the people by the time he arrives, there will be consequences.”
“I’m not sure. Let me message them to check their whereabouts.”
As the man sent out the message, within less than two minutes, the door swung open again. Three men, tasked with capturing Wei Yuxian’s Mother, entered, escorting a disheveled Mrs. Wei.
The men disdainfully tossed Wei Yuxian’s Mother into the corner with Ding Nana and the others.
Only after distancing themselves from Wei Yuxian’s Mother did their expressions improve. The reason was simple—Wei Yuxian’s Mother reeked!
It was evident she hadn’t bathed in days, emitting a sour stench akin to rotting vegetable scraps in a compost heap. The odor was unbearable even from a distance.
They had to restrain themselves to avoid throwing the captives out of the vehicle. If it weren’t for these being the individuals Second Master wanted, they wouldn’t have engaged in this task!
Ding Nana and her friends, startled by the commotion, were assaulted by a repugnant sour odor that almost made them sick!
What on earth was causing such a foul stench? Ding Nana wondered.
Amidst the commotion, muffled sounds of individuals attempting to speak but being gagged filled their ears. There was someone beside them.
Ding Nana pondered who this person could be and why they had been captured. Could they have also offended Wei Yuxian?
As she caught the whiff of that unpleasant sour odor, suddenly, a person came to mind—the mother of Wei Yuxian, whom she had seen at the school gate earlier that day!
Reflecting on the scent emanating from Wei Yuxian’s Mother, Ding Nana noticed its resemblance to the one from earlier, albeit now more overpowering.
Upon recognizing Wei Yuxian’s Mother beside her, Ding Nana became increasingly convinced that their capture was indeed linked to Wei Yuxian.
She couldn’t fathom another person in the capital who would offend Wei Yuxian.
Oh no, what now? Will she even make it out of this alive?
While Wei Yuxian’s Mother usually carried herself with a sense of authority, even strutting around the village, at this moment, fear gripped her, leading her to cry helplessly.
She was just an unsophisticated village woman, confident within the village but now feeling like a fish out of water in unfamiliar surroundings. Especially now, being captured without a chance to resist!
Within the room, there was little noise, with Wei Yuxian’s Mother’s cries piercing through. Unable to contain her fear and unsure of what would happen next, Wei Yuxian’s Mother wailed loudly, as if trying to bring the house down with her tears.
However, the men in the room remained unaffected, desensitized to such cries as they had heard more intense and sorrowful sounds before.
Man A: “When is Second Master coming back?”
Man B: “I don’t know. He just said he would return but didn’t mention when. By the way, do you know why Second Master wants to capture them?”
Several men shook their heads, indicating they were unaware. A man of higher status among them explained, “This afternoon, Master Xuanyi summoned Second Master. Shortly after, Second Master ordered us to capture these individuals.”
Man A: “So, it’s actually an order from Master Xuanyi?”
The man replied, “Most likely. Stop speculating. When Second Master returns, we’ll understand the reason.”
The men ceased discussing the matter and shifted to other topics.
Around half an hour later, the room’s door was opened once more, and Lu Chengxiao entered, looking disheveled and frustrated.
He was feeling irritable since he hadn’t seen what master Xuanyi’s wife looked like today.
Upon boarding the vehicle, he asked Guan Jinyou for a photo of master Xuanyi’s wife, thinking that if he couldn’t see her in person, at least catching a glimpse of her photo would suffice.
However, after viewing the photo, he became even more eager to see his wife in person!
Unfortunately, the woman in the photo looked soft and cute, appearing easily manipulated. He truly wondered how such a sweet and lovable woman managed to captivate Master Xuanyi!
But Master Xuanyi didn’t give him the chance, insisting that they would meet naturally when the time was right.
Who knew when this “naturally” would actually be!
Second Master Lu’s mood was sour, craving an outlet for his frustration, and at this moment, certain individuals were about to face serious consequences!
As soon as Lu Chengxiao entered, all the men in the room rose to their feet, shouting, “Second Master!”
With minimal interest, Lu Chengxiao uttered a nonchalant “Hmm,” sinking into the most comfortable sofa in the room and gazing at the four individuals in the corner, inquiring, “You didn’t grab the wrong people, did you?”
One man replied, “We acted according to your orders, Second Master. There won’t be any mistakes.”
Lu Chengxiao nodded, propping his chin with one hand, observing the four individuals as if they were lifeless bodies, commanding, “Remove whatever is covering their heads.”
“Yes!” the man acknowledged the order, signaling a few underlings with a glance to proceed promptly.
Reluctant to approach due to the overpowering odor, the underlings hesitated, feeling nauseated by the smell. However, compelled by Second Master’s directive, they reluctantly endured the acrid stench and proceeded.
Their actions were rough due to their dissatisfaction with the captives. Once the restraints were removed, they quickly distanced themselves, fearing the noxious smell might overwhelm them like a chemical weapon.
The blindfolds and cloth covering their mouths were removed from the four individuals. Ding Nana and her companions had been enduring the foul smell, on the brink of vomiting, but with their mouths gagged, they couldn’t.
Now, with the cloth removed, they couldn’t hold back any longer.
