Frowning, Lu Chengxiao observed the scene, then glanced at the man standing beside him, silently inquiring about the situation.
The man explained, “That old woman reeks, emitting a pungent sour smell that’s nauseating.”
A dark expression crossed Lu Chengxiao’s face as he sternly remarked, “Then why haven’t you cleaned her up yet? Can you stand that stench?”
The man nervously smiled, replying, “We didn’t dare take action without your instruction, Second Master.”
Waving his hand dismissively, Lu Chengxiao ordered, “Quickly, get her cleaned up and away from here! Don’t let the smell reach me!”
Although he hadn’t smelled the stench personally, Lu Chengxiao could already imagine it, feeling a wave of nausea.
The man promptly agreed and instructed two underlings to take the individuals away for cleaning.
Wei Yuxian’s Mother could finally speak with her mouth unobstructed, crying as she questioned, “Who are you? Why have you captured me? It’s broad daylight, and what you’re doing is illegal!”
Lu Chengxiao observed her, attempting to find any resemblance between her and the madam but failed to see any similarity.
How could their gentle and adorable madam have a mother like this?
Having such a mother was one thing, but with such a family dynamic, it felt suffocating.
With these thoughts in mind, Lu Chengxiao decided that they wouldn’t be shown any mercy later on!
Without uttering a word, his face displaying impatience, he found her voice unbearable, sounding like a quacking duck, incredibly annoying.
Seeing the numerous imposing men in the room, Wei Yuxian’s Mother felt even more terrified, her tone less confrontational now: “Have you mistaken me for someone else? I’m not from the capital; I’m from out of town and just arrived a couple of days ago. You must have really captured the wrong person. I came to the capital to find my daughter. Besides her, I don’t know anyone here. You’ve made a mistake.”
Despite her words, Wei Yuxian’s Mother felt a sense of unease, as she faintly guessed that these individuals were connected to the old man behind he daughter. However, in hopes of improving her situation, she feigned ignorance, perhaps hoping they would release her.
Unfortunately, her hopes were shattered as Lu Chengxiao didn’t even spare her a glance, becoming increasingly impatient and gesturing for the underlings to take her away quickly.
As long as she remained in the room, he felt a strange odor in the air, making him uncomfortable.
Amidst Wei Yuxian’s Mother’s cries and pleas, she was escorted out without anyone paying her any attention.
With the source of the foul smell gone, Ding Nana and her friends finally felt relief, no longer on the verge of vomiting.
Lu Chengxiao, observing their vomiting, displayed disgust and pointed towards the area, saying, “Clean up that area too.”
After about fifteen minutes, Lu Chengxiao sat on the sofa, watching Wei Yuxian’s Mother being brought back along with the now tidied-up corner, feeling like the whole world had become cleaner.
Despite their rough demeanor, hygiene was still essential.
With everyone cleaned up, Lu Chengxiao, lounging back comfortably, signaled, “Bring them over.”
Shortly after, the four individuals were brought forward, each with expressions of fear and tears, appearing pitiful.
However, Lu Chengxiao felt no pity for them, as they deserved their fate!
The unfortunate have their own shortcomings!
If they had stayed out of trouble and not provoked his madam, they wouldn’t be in this situation today.
As the four individuals stood before Lu Chengxiao, their cries intensified. Wei Yuxian’s Mother shouted, “Sir, have you truly mistaken us? I am just an ordinary citizen, I have never offended you…”
Finding her bothersome, Lu Chengxiao menacingly threatened, “If you speak again, I will cut out your tongue.”
With that, a man beside him timely handed over a dagger, which Lu Chengxiao casually toyed with in his hand.
Lu Chengxiao’s swift movement startled Wei Yuxian’s Mother, fearing he might accidentally harm her with the dagger. She quickly closed her mouth, wary of any mishap.
Satisfied, Lu Chengxiao stated, “Next, I will ask you some questions. Answer them well. If your answers disappoint me, remember, this blade isn’t just for show.”
The four individuals nodded like frightened quails.
Starting with Ding Nana, Lu Chengxiao inquired, “I heard you bullied my madam at school. Is that true?”
Ding Nana realized he was referring to Wei Yuxian. Despite her initial instinct to deny, seeing the dangerous grin on his face, she hesitantly nodded.
Regret flooded Ding Nana as she wished she had treated Wei Yuxian as if she were invisible to avoid the current predicament.
Lu Chengxiao was both pleased and displeased with her response. He appreciated her honesty but was unhappy with her admission of bullying his madam.
His smile widened, “Very good. You answered well. I am quite satisfied. Ah Hu, take her aside, gag her, and give her a beating. Be careful, I have more questions to ask.”
The man named Ah Hu, who always stood by Lu Chengxiao, responded with a “yes.” He then gagged Ding Nana and dragged her aside as instructed.
With one taken away, three remained, witnessing Ding Nana’s fate, their tears flowing more intensely.
Feng Yiyi pleaded, “Sir, we didn’t bully Wei Yuxian. It was all Ding Nana. We didn’t do anything wrong! Please spare us, sir!”
Arching his eyebrow, Lu Chengxiao remarked, “As far as I know, you are not entirely innocent either. Those who insulted my madam must bear some responsibility. Tell me, how did you insult my madam? I am quite curious.”
Feng Yiyi and Chen Wei dared not speak. They shook their heads, pleading for mercy and refusing to answer Lu Chengxiao’s question.
Lu Chengxiao , displeased with their behavior, expressionless, commanded, “Drag them over too, but keep some distance. Don’t disturb me.”
“Yes!” Two men promptly gagged them and dragged them away.
Now, only Wei Yuxian’s Mother remained before him.
Wei Yuxian’s Mother, terrified by the sight of the others being taken away, trembling in fear, wanted to beg for mercy but hesitated, recalling Lu Chengxiao’s earlier warning. All she could do was cry silently.
Unmoved by their tears, Lu Chengxiao wiped the dagger with a cloth and turned to Wei Yuxian’s Mother, asking, “You are the madam’s mother, correct?”
Wei Yuxian’s Mother nodded hastily, fearing to upset him. She added, “Yes, I am Wei Yuxian’s mother, sir. There must be some misunderstanding. How could I harm my own daughter? Isn’t that right, sir?”
After a moment of contemplation, Lu Chengxiao nodded and asked, “I have a question for you. Do you believe there is something on you worth a million?”
He smiled, but his expression resembled that of a demon.
