Chapter 210 Law Enforcement Elder Guards the World (24)
“And I’ve kept the information locked down. He doesn’t even know you’re my disciple. When I come back in your form, he’ll think you failed the Divine Movement Sect’s assessment and scurried back here in disgrace.”
Bai Tang reached out to dust off the cabinet, revealing darker patches underneath. She then glanced elsewhere in the room. The same unsightly markings adorned the walls, evidence of broken wooden stakes with sharp tips, all bearing deep brown stains. In this rundown little room, there were far too many of such traces.
Letting out a soft sigh, Bai Tang said, “If it weren’t for A’Zhuo’s ability to resurrect, you’d have died at their hands long ago. Looking at all the marks in this room, I fear even I don’t know how many times you’ve died.”
Shen Zhuo jerked his head up, staring at Bai Tang with a mixture of astonishment and wariness.
How did she know?
The secret of his resurrection was known to no one, not even Prince Shen, who simply attributed it to his remarkable recovery ability.
“For the Shen family, I won’t take action. You’ll have to deal with them yourself in the future. They’ve become your inner demons. If you don’t overcome them, you’ll go mad sooner or later. Except for Shen Zhuzhu. Later, I’ll take you to find her.”
Shen Zhuo’s eyes, as black as ink, showed a hint of unclear meaning. “Master seems to know a lot.”
Bai Tang merely replied, “When Prince Shen arrives, stand back. It won’t be worth it if you get hurt.”
Bai Tang pushed Shen Zhuo away, urging him to stand in the corner. Although the concealment spell concealed him, he could still sense his surroundings.
Shen Zhuo remained quietly in the corner, curious about what his Master was up to.
“You despicable thing! How dare you sneak out of the mansion and run to the Divine Movement Sect, causing trouble for Yunyun and Bin’er. Today, if I don’t beat you to death, I vow not to be human.”
Prince Shen brandished the iron whip and struck at Bai Tang, who struggled to dodge but couldn’t evade it.
The iron needles on the whip pierced Bai Tang’s skin, injecting their poison into her flesh. Bai Tang managed to protect her vital organs, so the poison couldn’t harm her too severely.
Shen Zhuo felt increasingly uncomfortable. In the past, it was he who was beaten, but today, watching his Master endure the blows, he felt a different kind of pain. He couldn’t bear to see Bai Tang suffer like he had.
After more than a dozen lashes, Bai Tang’s body was covered in wounds, barely a patch of intact skin left.
Gasping for breath, Bai Tang said, “If you dislike me so much, why bother giving birth to me? Shen Nianyun and Shen Congbin deserve to be punished! I heard that you went to make a scene, and the result…”
Prince Shen, furious, struck her with several more lashes, cursing, “It’s all your fault, you lowly thing, causing so much harm with your filth!”
“You’re a disaster! I’ll beat you to death!”
Prince Shen’s blows grew more ferocious.
Bai Tang spoke softly, “Killing innocent children, Prince Shen, your cultivation will decline, and you won’t survive the tribulation. Even if you hate me, I’m still of the Shen bloodline, a member of the Shen clan recorded in the family records. You’ll never escape me for your whole life.”
Bai Tang was deliberately provoking Prince Shen. In his eyes, she was merely a person without cultivation, incapable of resisting him.
For someone who had always been stepped on by him saying such words now, Prince Shen became even angrier and his eyes turned red with fury, “Just a few days out and your wings are already stiffening! Wings are useless if they’re just kept around. I’ll tear them off!”
Prince Shen grew increasingly sadistic, each strike aimed to inflict maximum harm.
Though Shen Zhuo didn’t want to, he restrained himself, standing in the corner, observing coldly. It was her choice to do this, and she would have to face the consequences.
Bai Tang said resentfully, “Shen Zhongming, you’ll never escape from me! No matter how much you hate me, I’m still recorded in the family records. When Shen Nianyun and Shen Congbin are dead, whether you like it or not, the Shen family will be mine.”
…
Author’s Note:
Little Tang’er was abused. Now, as Shen Zhuo’s Master, little Tang’er was not willing to let Shen Zhuo solve the matter in this way himself.
Shen Zhuo had endured a life devoid of kindness, constantly trampled upon, never treated fairly……
