A-Level Pursuit
A-Level Pursuit chapter 66

It only took two hours to fly from San Lorenzo to Danga in the southern part of the federation.

By the time Will Reinis reported everything that had happened at the hospital to his father, Liang Qiuchi, Mo Xin, and Mo Qi, each flying in their own separate medical helicopters, had already left the airspace of San Lorenzo.

“Should we go after them?” Will Reinis asked for instructions.

He himself wanted to go after them. Since Mo Xin hadn’t been gone for long, perhaps they could intercept them before they entered Danga. But if they did, the matter would escalate, and it wouldn’t end well.

“What’s the point of going after them?” General Reinis’s steady and majestic voice came through the earpiece. “They’re in three helicopters, which one would you chase? Do you have command authority over the Air Force? Fool!”

“Yes, Father, you’re right to criticize.” Will lowered his voice, asking cautiously, “So, should we just let them go back to Danga?”

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone before the reply came, “They should know that the situation is set, that’s why they resorted to these small tricks to escape overnight.”

“I see.”

“What matters most now is to quickly find that Wancha, and use any means necessary to deal with him. Keeping this person alive will be a disaster sooner or later.”

Will repeated three “yeses” in a row, then the phone was ruthlessly hung up.

He unwillingly glanced at the line of armed soldiers still guarding behind the hospital gate, then turned around and waved to the few people he had brought, “Let’s go back. There’s a new task.”

While he sent reinforcements here, he wished he could turn San Lorenzo upside down, not knowing that the person they were looking for had already landed safely on the rooftop of the First Private Hospital in Danga.

Wancha and Mo Zhenghong were immediately sent to the intensive care unit for strict care upon landing.

Mo Xin’s third helicopter hovered not far away, waiting for the rooftop to be cleared. Mo Qi patted Liang Qiuchi on the shoulder and said, “Although Danga State does not enforce federal warrants, the situation is sensitive at the moment. Try to avoid public places as much as possible.”

“I understand,” Liang Qiuchi nodded to him. “Thank you.”

Mo Qi smiled with a hint of lingering fatigue on his face. He said, “You wait here for Xiao Xin. I need to go home and get some rest. Let’s talk more when I’m rested.”

Liang Qiuchi nodded, and Mo Qi waved to Wu Yahui and Qu Cheng, “Let’s go, I’ll take you to visit the governor’s mansion. You can pick any room you like.”

After they left, Mo Xin’s helicopter landed steadily in a strong wind.

Liang Qiuchi walked over against the wind, arms open, and caught Mo Xin as he ran towards him.

He lightly kissed the top of his head and softly asked him, “Are you tired?”

After several days of mental stress, plus staying up two nights to care for patients, and arranging evacuation plans all night last night, Mo Xin was naturally very tired.

He threw away his military cap, lifted his hand to hook around Liang Qiuchi’s neck, and lightly jumped up, wrapping his legs around his waist.

He hung on Liang Qiuchi like a large pendant.

He buried his face in Liang Qiuchi’s neck and muttered, “Very tired, don’t want to walk.”

Liang Qiuchi supported his butt so that he didn’t have to exert any more effort.

“I’ll carry you back, you can sleep for a while.” He bounced him in his arms twice, and Mo Xin tightened his hands around Liang Qiuchi’s neck, softly grunting before closing his eyes.

Liang Qiuchi’s arms were strong and powerful, and his chest was warm, giving Mo Xin a sense of security. When they got into the car, he breathed long and deep, already sound asleep.

It seemed he was really exhausted.

Vincent opened the car door, Liang Qiuchi let go of Mo Xin’s legs, and instead cradled him horizontally in his arms. When he got into the car, he didn’t wake Mo Xin up, just maintained the posture of holding him all the way back to the Mo home in Danga.

Mo Xin’s bedroom was on the second floor, and it had a layout similar to the villa they stayed in in San Lorenzo. When Liang Qiuchi lay him down on the bed, he quietly looked at the furnishings in the room, lost in thought.

The person in his arms moved uneasily a few times, and Liang Qiuchi returned to his senses, lowering his head to see him frowning even in his sleep, feeling a bit distressed.

He gently patted Mo Xin’s back, as if coaxing a child.

Mo Xin moved closer to him with his eyes closed, resting his head on Liang Qiuchi’s chest, and fell back into a deep sleep.

Liang Qiuchi lay on his side beside him, supporting his head with one hand, lightly patting Mo Xin from time to time, accompanying him to sleep.

By the time the room was tinted with a beautiful orange hue as dusk approached, Mo Xin slowly woke up, opening his eyes to meet Liang Qiuchi’s gentle gaze.

“Awake?” Liang Qiuchi leaned down and kissed the corner of his lips, “Vincent came to call for dinner just now, but seeing you sleeping so soundly, I didn’t disturb you. Are you hungry?”

Mo Xin nodded, his voice still hoarse from just waking up. “Yes, hungry, but don’t want to move.”

“I’ll bring it to you,” Liang Qiuchi asked him, “Anything special you want to eat?”

Mo Xin blinked, and the haze in his eyes gradually dissipated, becoming dark and bright again. “I want to eat you.”

Liang Qiuchi chuckled and kissed him again, “How can you have the energy on an empty stomach? What if you pass out halfway through?”

Although he said that, his warm and powerful hands were already exploring Mo Xin’s abdomen under his military uniform, lingering and caressing, unwilling to withdraw.

Mo Xin’s breath became unstable from the teasing, his face slightly red. He couldn’t wait to be affectionate with Liang Qiuchi, so he simply pushed Liang Qiuchi down, lifted his long legs, and straddled him.

But just as they had started to undress, and their enthusiasm had just risen, a hesitant knocking came from outside the door.

Vincent’s voice sounded outside the door, “Mr. Liang, General Mo awake yet?”

Mo Xin leaned down to block Liang Qiuchi’s lips, and with one hand, he tried to unbutton Liang Quichi’s pants, attempting to silence the person outside with silence.

But after waiting silently for a moment, Vincent did not leave, but raised his voice slightly, “General Mo, please come downstairs. General Reinis is about to make a televised speech.”

The two who were kissing abruptly stopped, seeing alertness in each other’s eyes.

They quickly got up, straightened out their clothes, and pushed open the door. As they walked down the stairs, they heard Reinis’s voice coming from the projector in the hall. The speech was short, and the process went smoothly. Reinis Proceeded with the presidential oath in an orderly manner. …

As it was an early inauguration, Reinis did not hold a grand ceremony like previous federal presidents. Instead, he invited a few so-called “representatives from various sectors of society” to parliament to make a show, thus ending his inauguration ceremony.

Then, the television program also broadcasted footage of Reinis proudly walking into the presidential office, declaring the beginning of the new term for the federal president from that moment on.

After the broadcast ended, the television station resumed its normal program.

Mo Qi turned off the projector, and the whole hall fell silent for a moment, with only the sound of a pin drop audible.

After a while, Mo Qi broke the silence, “Fortunately, we came back this morning,” his tone was self-deprecating, full of self-mockery, “Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been easy to get away.”

Mo Xin looked at Liang Qiuchi, whose expression remained calm, but the veins on his forehead bulged slightly, revealing the turbulent emotions within him.

He gripped Liang Qiuchi‘s fist, which was also clenched tightly, and said in a low voice, “He won’t be proud forever.”

Liang Qiuchi held his hand back, showing him a faint smile, “It’s okay.”

For eight years, he had endured each day, one by one, so he didn’t mind enduring a little longer.

Reinis’ empire seemed vast and magnificent, invincible even, but it was just a castle built of sand, not sturdy inside.

Just aim a sharp nail at Reinis’ weakness, and this castle would collapse like quicksand.

And Wancha was the first sharp nail to penetrate Reinis’ empire.

Liang Qiuchi asked Wu Yahui to contact Qu Cheng, who was still accompanying Wancha in the hospital, to inquire about his situation. This nail should better not have any problems.

“I was about to call you to report,” Qu Cheng said, “Good news, he just woke up three minutes ago, and he’s in pretty good spirits.”

Upon hearing this news, Liang Qiuchi and Wu Yahui both sighed in relief, almost simultaneously.

But Qu Cheng’s tone suddenly became hesitant, “However, there’s some bad news…”

At this moment, the mobile phones of Mo Qi and Mo Xin, along with the landline at home, rang almost simultaneously.

“Governor Mo probably won’t last through tonight.”
