Chapter 258

I was hesitant in making the potion right in front of His Majesty and Bavarian-sama and thought maybe I should ask them to let me borrow Bavarian-sama’s kitchen so I wouldn’t disturb them but contrary to my expectation, they insisted on me doing it right in front of them.

“Alright, I’m going to start making it.” I placed the portable outdoor alchemy table that Jill-san’s subordinate had brought to me  near the window. On top of the table, I arranged the necessary items such as water jar, ladle, dipper, chopstick, kitchen knife, cutting board, mortar and pestle, pot, magic powered portable stove, the materials for potion and a bunch of other things. 

For now, the preparations are already in order.

First, I boiled the water. While waiting for the water to boil, I used a mortar to crush the medicinal herbs and Red Grizzly’s thing. I separated each ingredient on a separate plate since I needed to measure the ratio for them later.

Since running out of MP while concocting medicine would ruin the raw materials, I put a piece of berzin MP herb in my mouth and chewed it like a gum and repeated the process several times.

Then, I added the ingredients into the boiling water in a predetermined order and ratio. I stirred the concoction while infusing my magic energy into it and after about half an hour, the liquid started to glow. This glow meant the potion was a success.

After that, I double-checked the finished potion with appraisal to ensure there was no problem. Then, I cooled the liquid with ice magic while the liquid was still in the pot.. Although I could just let the potion naturally cool by itself, but using ice magic would be faster.

I divided the potion into several bottles after the liquid had cooled enough to room temperature, sealed the bottle and done. His Majesty and Bavarian-sama, who had been watching the entire process intently, applauded. The royal alchemist had a bitter expression on his face though. Baron Alpendre on the other hand, his face was mixed with both anticipation and anxiety.

“Baron Alpendre, here you go.”

I said that and handed him a bottle of the potion. Baron Alpendre quickly gulped it down in one go. Then, not only did his barren scalp brimmed with luxuriant hair, but his dull skin also became bright and supple.

His mafia-style silk hat that he had worn to cover his thinning hair was pushed up by the new growth  of hair.  Jill-san brought a mirror for Baron Alpendre and upon seeing the reflection of his rejuvenated self in the mirror, Baron Alpendre burst into tears.

He grabbed my hands, professing his gratitude with tears running down his eyes before leaving the room while shouting for his lover’s name. 

“Roseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!” 

Good, good. I’m glad things are doing great for him.

I guess there was a vast difference between receiving compensation and receiving a reward. With this, I could receive 100.000 gold coins with good conscience.

Perhaps impressed by my alchemy demonstration, His Majesty and Bavarian-sama said that they wanted to see the process of me making the equipment for His Majesty as well.

I didn’t have any particular reason to refuse them so I readily agreed. I told them to come to my blacksmithing workshop tomorrow during the day before returning home.

Ahh, I’m so tired from using so many MP today. After I’m home, I will take a bath and then get some rest.
