Chapter 261
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
I decided to build the new town in the central and slightly south part of Borash Plains, a territory located on the southern tip of the kingdom. The fertile land had a large river going through it with a lot of small hills and gentle sloping terrain.
The lord’s castle would be built on top of the hill. By placing the castle on top of the hill, we could secure the higher ground in terms of defense too.
The town would be divided into zones, like industrial zones and residential zones. Industrial zones might pollute the water and air so it’d be better to keep the area secluded to prevent the pollution from spreading into another area. I also separated the water systems for the sewage and the clean tap water. (I would never let my town be polluted by the smell of shit.)
The commercial zone, where the commercial guild would be located at, would be built in the main street so the people could easily access the commercial zone. The commercial guild would be the one responsible for managing the territory’s operating funds. I granted some authority to the guild master and the vice guild master (Sarasa and Iris). I wanted to create a system where the town could run independently without being micromanaged by me.
We deployed several long-distance carriages between the new town and Resta. The adventurers’ guild would be built next to the commercial guild, to ensure smooth circulation of monster materials and to protect the town from monsters.
Also, it’d be great if we could build sturdy stone walls surrounding the town…. And so on, and so on…
I compiled the opinions from various key persons such as Sarasa, Margo, Juno, Iris (a cat beastman, Sarasa’s childhood friend and her rival merchant) and the others about the design and the management of the town.
While we were in the middle of the discussion, Elsa mentioned that she had returned the operation of the inn to her father, Barrack-san, who was a part of the Resta’s councilors. She said she wanted to focus on her new inn plus restaurant in the new town. Her inn would be focusing on catering to adventurers and travelers alike.
Since Juno had been appointed to be the vice commander of a Baron’s army in a new town, of course Elsa would be coming along. She was Juno’s partner in life after all.
Since the new town didn’t have many settlers yet, this land was basically a free-to-choose town. I would need to ask Elsa if she had any specific wish she wanted to be implemented in the town or not.
Speaking about the free land, currently in Resta, Tairant and the capital city of this kingdom, Rasutin, we had placed a recruitment flier to welcome new settlers into my new town. The flier read “Come get a piece of land for free!” .
With the advantage of being able to own land in a town that most likely would be developing in the future, we could attract more potential settlers.
Now then, I guess we’ve finished deciding on most of the important matters about the town?
Or so I thought. But then, Sarasa then suddenly said.
“By the way, what’s the name of this town?”

T/N: I guess the name will have a wolf or canine element to it?

It could be simply the surname of the local lord.
