Chapter 1: Rescue Mission – The Villains
Sunlight streamed through the gap in the beige curtains, casting its glow on the figure lying on the large bed.
It was a girl fast asleep, her fair skin tinged with a rosy hue, her plump red lips slightly puckered. Her long eyelashes drooped beneath her closed eyelids, forming a faint shadow.
Her black hair was scattered messily across the bed, with a few strands playfully sticking to her face.
The room was well soundproofed, yet faint laughter of children drifted in through the small gap in the floor-to-ceiling window. Su Sanxian turned over, her fair, delicate hand brushing away the strands of hair from her face as she sleepily opened her eyes.
A crystal lamp.
She closed her eyes again for a moment, then suddenly opened them wide.
Still a crystal lamp.
“Ah!” Su Sanxian cried out in despair.
It had already been her third day since transmigrating. To think, she had been a lifelong single little fairy, and now, in a blink, she had become the mother of three children.
Based on her own memories, the memories of the Original Owner, and everything she had seen and heard over the past three days, Su Sanxian was certain—she, Su Sanxian, had transmigrated into a book titled The Overbearing CEO Fell in Love with Me.
She hadn’t become the female lead, nor even the female supporting role. Instead, she had become the insane, early-dead mother of three major villains.
She was truly insane—the kind who recognized no family, whose mind was never clear. She didn’t drool, but she hit people.
In the entire book, she only appeared in the villains’ memories.
The three villains were triplets, all born from the same mother. Due to complications during childbirth, their mother had narrowly survived, only to become a madwoman.
Their father, forced to juggle work at the company while caring for both his mentally unstable wife and the children, inevitably neglected them at times.
Because of their mother’s condition, they were rejected and ostracized by other children, which fostered their withdrawn personalities and laid the groundwork for their eventual descent into darkness.
The true turning point that fully shaped their villainous nature came during their teenage years.
At ten years old, their father died in a plane crash while traveling abroad to seek out a world-renowned psychiatrist. His body was never recovered.
Still reeling from their father’s sudden death, the same year, their grandparents—heartbroken over losing their son and overwhelmed by grief—succumbed to old ailments and passed away one after another.
Seeing their beloved grandparents lying cold and lifeless in the hospital, disappearing from their lives just like their father, the three ten-year-old children finally came to fully understand what it meant for someone to be gone forever.
With the butler by their side, the siblings clung to one another as they arranged their grandparents’ funeral. Yet on the second day after the funeral, so-called relatives stormed into the house, citing their young age and their mother’s madness as reasons to strip them of the company’s decision-making power.
Unable to contend with the cunning predators, the three siblings, along with their insane mother and the butler, were driven out of the Lin family and forced to live in an old, rundown apartment.
They grew up clinging to each other for survival. But misfortune struck again—after the grandparents’ passing, the butler’s health declined rapidly, and without money for treatment, he too died.
Once they buried the butler and settled everything, they were left penniless, surviving only through the charity of neighbors. The three children picked up trash and worked odd jobs to scrape by.
They stumbled along until the age of twelve, when their mad mother also passed away.
The breaking of this final straw pushed the already teetering children completely over the edge into darkness.
The Overbearing CEO Fell in Love with Me opened with the story of the male lead and the villains fighting over the female lead.
As for the three villains who stirred chaos from the start of the novel to its very end—
The eldest was Lin Zhaoxing, the President of Lin Group;
The second, Lin Zhaoyue, the director of SAN Hospital;
And the youngest, Lin Zhaoyang, the boss of the Yusan Gang.
Collecting her scattered thoughts, Su Sanxian rubbed her temples and got up with a slight headache.
She drew back the curtains, and through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows, she could clearly see the three children hopping and skipping about on the lawn below.
It was the sixth time in three days that Su Sanxian had seen them, yet her heart still softened every time.
They were so adorable.
To someone who had been raising over a dozen children online in a “virtual parenting” way, these were supposed to be little villains? No, they were clearly Little Angels.
Her babies!
They were all her babies!
“Rescue No. 7 Start-up Prompt,” a voice suddenly rang in her mind. “Host, please make first contact with the three villains. Good morning, Host.” Though lively in tone, the voice was cold and mechanical.
Yes, that was right.
The reason Su Sanxian had been able to transmigrate into this book was all thanks to the “Rescue Mission No. 7” system.
And this system only issued missions.
That’s right—there was no system shop, no multiverse trade hub, none of the things she had imagined.
This system only released tasks, and dangled promises of a “better reincarnation” in front of her as bait.
Su Sanxian had been a livestreamer, and after collapsing from overwork following long nights of nonstop streaming, she had died suddenly. She was pulled into the book by this system, tasked with rescuing the three villains and preventing them from straying down a dark path.
Her first mission was to make initial contact with the three villains. It was an obviously simple task, yet Su Sanxian had been stuck for three days.
Because—
Every servant in this mansion blocked Su Sanxian from approaching The Three Kids, terrified that she would suddenly have one of her “episodes” and lash out.
Su Sanxian felt wronged, frustrated, and completely helpless.
“Brother, kick me the ball!” That was the voice of Sanzai.
After three days of discreet observation, Su Sanxian had discovered that Dazai was the most serious of the three, though he had a tear mole beneath his right eye and two tiny fangs that showed whenever he spoke.
Erzai was sweet and cheerful, with dimples on both cheeks when he smiled.
Sanzai was the most mischievous, with a broken scar on his right brow that had formed after he fell and injured it at age three.
Su Sanxian slid open the balcony door, openly watching The Three Kids play soccer.
Sanzai ran swiftly, darting behind the dribbling Dazai, snatching the ball, and sending it flying into the goal within just a few strides.
Even though there was no goalkeeper—
Su Sanxian: !!!
“Sanzai, that was amazing! Woohoo!” Su Sanxian shouted aloud.
The cheerful voice from above made The Three Kids all stop in their tracks.
The three children lined up side by side, stopped moving, and simultaneously looked up at Su Sanxian standing on the second-floor balcony.
“That’s Mom!” Sanzai’s voice was full of surprise. “Mom looks so…”
“Normal. Like a normal person.” Dazai said.
Sweet little Erzai was already waving at Su Sanxian. “Mom!”
Little Angels!
Su Sanxian couldn’t help but tilt her head, grinning with a maternal smile—no, not an auntie smile, a real mother’s smile.
“Good morning, my babies!” She looked at the servants standing nearby, who, despite her calling out to her children, didn’t stop her. The sight filled her with joy.
“Good morning, Mom!” The Three Kids spoke in unison, their voices crisp and bright.
How could such adorable children possibly be villains? They were clearly little angels!
Since craning their necks was uncomfortable, the three children all plopped down on the ground, happily gazing up at the mother they so rarely got to see.
“Why aren’t you going to kindergarten today?” Su Sanxian asked.
“I know, I know!” Sanzai raised his hand. “Because today is Saturday, Mom. We don’t have school on Saturdays!”
Seeing Su Sanxian nod, Erzai jumped in to fill the silence. “It’s true, Mom! We’re not lying.”
Not far away, the servants looked on at the harmonious scene of mother and sons chatting, feeling as though it was surreal.
“Madam seems so normal today. Could she be cured?” Servant A spoke.
“Maybe she’s just pretending. Last time she said she was the Empress Dowager and tried to have us caned, she acted perfectly normal at first too.” Servant B replied.
The others nodded at that, thinking it made perfect sense.
