Chapter 4 – Breakfast Time
When the butler and the three cubs went to wake Su Sanxian, she had been in the middle of a conversation with the system.
“System ‘Rescue No. 7’ is now activating. Good morning, Host.”
When Su Sanxian had first transmigrated, she had been puzzled. The system shut down automatically at 8 p.m. every night, living an even more disciplined life than she did. Unless she called it in an emergency, it would remain offline until 8 a.m. the next day!
“Ding! Host has successfully completed the mission of making first contact with the three villains. Please engage in joyful playtime with the three villains.”
Joyful playtime? Exactly how joyful did they mean?
While she was still pondering this, three sweet little voices rang out:
“Mom! We came to get Mom for breakfast!”
“Grandpa Zhang, hurry and open the door for Mom…”
Open the door?
Su Sanxian: !!!
Heavens above! After four whole days, had someone finally realized she was a normal person?!
Su Sanxian threw off the blanket, got up in a flash, and hurried to the locked door.
The butler, who had just opened it, was startled by her sudden burst of excitement and almost slammed it shut again. Fortunately, he still had some sense; seeing the three little young masters rushing in like they couldn’t be stopped, he had to keep a close watch on Madam.
After all, Madam was so agitated—it wasn’t entirely safe.
As for Su Sanxian, how could she not be excited? She had been locked up ever since she arrived in this world, with the system dangling missions over her head. Now, all of a sudden, these three adorable kids were saying she could leave. How could she not be thrilled? Huh?!
“Mom! Dad said to tell Mom to come downstairs for breakfast~” Erzai hugged her leg and spoke in a sweet voice.
Alright, tell your Dad thank you for me. He was truly a good man—woohoo, a President worth befriending!
“Thank you, my little cuties, for coming to get Mom.” Su Sanxian bent down and planted a kiss on each of The Three Cubs’ foreheads. “Mom will go wash up first and come down right away.”
“Okay, we’ll go with Mom.”
And so, Su Sanxian acquired a row of little tails. Like a tiny train, she chugged off toward the bathroom.
She washed up with exquisite speed, while The Three Cubs whispered to each other.
“Mom’s face wash smells so nice…”
“Mom has so many bubbles on her face…”
“Mom smells nice too…”
With the elegant “train engine” Su Sanxian leading, the three little carriages followed closely, turning corners and marching forward. “Toot toot toot.” they advanced toward the dining room, dragging Grandpa Butler along the way.
They hadn’t even arrived yet, but Lin Shen could already hear the joyful laughter of the mother and her three children.
“Mom, from now on let’s always have breakfast together!” That was Sanzai’s voice—soft, childish, and lilting.
“And lunch and dinner too, we should eat together~ That was Erzai’s voice, stretching his words out unconsciously in a whine.
“And with Dad too.” The good boy—that was Dazai’s voice. Nothing more to add; just the fact that he thought of his father showed the dignified temperament of an eldest son.
“But don’t you have to eat lunch at school during school days?” Su Sanxian teased.
She had been smiling when her gaze met Lin Shen’s across the dining room.
Her smile froze on her face, and she felt a little awkward—after all, she had been teasing his sons, even making promises about eating together every day.
However, she couldn’t help subtly giving Lin Shen a quick once-over.
A white shirt, black dress pants—simple, casual attire. His skin was pale, his brows sharp like swords, and his eyes slightly elongated like phoenix eyes. His nose was high and straight, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses rested upon it. His lips were perfectly shaped, with a small lip pearl on the upper lip.
Such a refined gentleman… ah, no, a man of outstanding appearance indeed. No wonder he was the father of villains.
“Uh… good morning.” Su Sanxian pulled The Three Cubs into their seats and greeted Lin Shen stiffly.
“Good morning. When did you recover?” Lin Shen reached out and pushed a plate of soup dumplings toward Su Sanxian.
Seeing her favorite soup dumplings, Su Sanxian glanced at Lin Shen in surprise.
“Thank you…” She then realized he had asked her a question, so she continued: “It’s been a few days, but no one believed me.” As she spoke, her brows drooped, her expression full of grievance.
“I believe you. I’m sorry I only realized you’d recovered now.”
Hearing their parents’ conversation, Sanzai’s little radar went off—he knew how to answer this one.
“Mom, I believe you too! I was the first to believe you!”
At those words, none of the Lin family’s boys present could sit still.
Erzai put down his chopsticks. “Mom, I was the first to believe you too.”
“And me, Mom…” Dazai followed closely after Erzai. “Mom…”
“Alright, you can all eat now!” Lin Shen spoke up, seeing that Su Sanxian was overwhelmed—and truthfully, he was feeling overwhelmed himself.
He strictly stopped the children from chattering all at once.
After all, children’s voices were soft yet sharp, and when The Three Cubs shouted together like they were in a competition, even the most doting parents’ heads would buzz.
The rest of breakfast passed in silence. The Three Cubs wanted to speak, but seeing their Mom eating so happily, they all kept quiet. It was absolutely not because they were intimidated by their Dad’s authority. ૮₍ ˃ ⤙ ˂ ₎ა૮₍ ˃ ⤙ ˂ ₎ა૮₍ ˃ ⤙ ˂ ₎ა
Seeing that Madam was truly back to normal, the butler’s face was full of relief.
Madam had finally recovered, and their young masters once again had a loving mother.
If the situation weren’t so formal, the butler would’ve wanted to take out a handkerchief and dab the corners of his eyes.

After breakfast, The Three Cubs dragged Su Sanxian into the living room to read books together, while Lin Shen sat not far away reviewing documents.
It was a scene of peace and contentment, as if time itself had slowed down.
Of course, it would have been even better without the three children’s constant chatter as they competed for their mother’s attention.
The rivalry that began at the breakfast table carried over into playtime, evolving from a contest over who believed her first into a battle over who loved Mom the most.
“I’m obviously the one who loves Mom the most!” Erzai threw himself into Su Sanxian’s arms, his voice drawn out in a whine.
Sanzai, unwilling to lose, wrapped his arms around his mother’s neck and feigned pitifulness. “Mom, I love Mom the most. I love Mom the mostest!”
Could Dazai lose? Of course not. A boy who studied math would never admit defeat.
Dazai took out a math problem he’d solved earlier, pointed at the answer, which was “520.” and declared: “Mom, Dazai loves Mom the most. Even the numbers I write in math problems are numbers that mean I love Mom ah~”
Dazai, clever and perceptive, had already realized that Su Sanxian liked calling the three of them “my little ones.” and he even used a rare, playful “ah” at the end of his sentence to sound cuter.
Sure enough, when he referred to himself as “Dazai.” Mom’s eyes lit up.
Su Sanxian: She could no longer hold back. There was no need to restrain herself.
Looking into Dazai’s sparkling eyes, Su Sanxian pulled him into her arms and planted a loud kiss on his cheek. ( ˶˘ ³˘(⋆❛ ہ ❛⋆)!♡
She then watched as Dazai’s fair little face quickly flushed crimson, the blush spreading rapidly until even his two ears weren’t spared.
Seeing Dazai’s adorable reaction, and noticing Erzai and Sanzai’s barely contained eagerness, she simply pulled them both over too, planting two more kisses with loud “muas.”
“Mom already feels all your love for Mom. Mom loves you three the most, too… You’re all tied for first place!”
“We love Mom the most too!” The Three Cubs, both shy and overjoyed, couldn’t help but pounce into Su Sanxian’s embrace as they spoke in unison.
Their voices were crisp, childish, yet filled with absolute certainty.
Su Sanxian, the winner at life, hugged The Three Cubs and felt as if her very soul had been elevated.
Of course, this was before she had experienced the chaos of raising these mischievous little ones. When that time came, Su Sanxian often felt like her head would split in two.
But that was a story for later. For now, let’s stay in this moment.
