“What’s going on?”
The situation was urgent, and everyone didn’t pay attention to the previous duel’s outcome.
The school doctor from the academy’s medical room hurried over and conducted a preliminary examination using manifestation abilities. Frowning, they said, “This child… extreme hunger and malnutrition have caused temporary weakness. She urgently need to eat.”
One of the teachers had a nutrient solution with them, and after opening one, they poured it into Yuan Hanshuang’s mouth. On the other side, Young Master Gu’s body also shook, a grim expression on his face.
Before the school doctor could retract his shapeshift, they checked him as well.
“Manifestation damage, mild psychic shock, nothing serious. Just rest well.”
After Yuan Hanshuang fainted, the attention of many people shifted. However, in reality, the battle between the psychic manifestation was still ongoing.
The Fiery Striped Tiger, being a close-quarters manifestation, was naturally untameable and had never been defeated since awakening. Its confident strikes were effortlessly blocked by a small fish, which it found unacceptable, just like its owner.
Naturally, it launched a second attack and wrestled with the Koi Fish.
The injured Diamond Parrot with one wing on Ke Junda’s side was enthusiastically commentating on the side, “Beat it! Well done!”
“Little Koi fish, use a hook punch, no, a hook tail! It hit! Punch again! The stinky tiger is down!”
In the end, the Fiery Striped Tiger was pinned down and beaten by the Koi fish, dissipating with resentment in the ripples.
manifestation damage would, in turn, affect the owner. For example, after Ke Junda was beaten by Young Master Gu last time, he had a headache for several days. Young Master Gu followed in his footsteps.
“Let’s take them to the medical room first.”
After confirming that Young Master Gu was fine, the school doctor immediately focused on the other student who was in a semi-fainting state.
Upon examination, they were taken aback. Yuan Hanshuang’s various nutritional indicators were all inadequate, with everything showing red. They needed to be quickly sent for a detailed examination.
After carrying the person on a stretcher to the medical room, the school doctor closed the door with a worried expression. “This child’s family conditions might not be good. If the test results are correct, she probably hasn’t had a proper meal in the past half month. Coupled with excessive use of psychic abilities, if things continue like this, it’s worrisome.”
“What?!” Xiao Yunmeng and Hong Nian exchanged shocked glances.
Although many children in the Junior Academy came from average family conditions, it was the first time they had encountered someone who couldn’t even afford a meal.
At least 2,000 years ago, poverty-stricken areas had already been eliminated, achieving comprehensive poverty alleviation. There was certainly a wealth gap in the interstellar world, but no matter what, it was absolutely impossible for someone to go hungry.
Who could have imagined that they would encounter a student today who couldn’t afford a meal!
“I didn’t expect this. No wonder she started school a year later and specifically asked about tuition fees and whether the school cafeteria was free.”
Hong Nian shook his head and sighed, “With such family conditions, how could they afford tuition? I imagine that when they decided to come to school, the whole family must have made a difficult decision after careful consideration.”
“This child is truly gifted in combat, a great prospect for a close-quarters talent.”
“Yes,” Xiao Yunmeng sighed along, “Her level is also quite good. Today’s battle clearly showed that she is about to break through to the first rank. No wonder she could make the young master Gu suffer.”
They didn’t think it was a coincidence that Yuan Hanshuang’s Koi Fish could defeat the Fiery StripedTiger.
Anyone with keen eyes could see that Young Master Gu was only a zero-tier intermediate, while Yuan Hanshuang was already on the verge of reaching the first rank. The two-rank difference was insurmountable even among talented individuals.
More importantly, Yuan Hanshuang’s enrollment information indicated that she was already nine years old. The two teachers didn’t know that she had awakened her psychic abilities just half a month ago and mistakenly believed that she awakened at eight and achieved today’s results after a year of practice, so they weren’t overly surprised.
“As responsible teachers, let’s discuss with the principal after class.”
After pondering for a moment, Xiao Yunmeng said, “I remember our school has assistance for students from low-income families.”
“We do, but it’s best not to let the child know about this kind of thing.” Hong Nian said, “Since she didn’t apply for assistance, we should take extra care of her self-esteem.”
Xiao Yunmeng glanced at him in surprise, “Rare to see you being so considerate.”
As a joke aside, that suggestion is not bad, and he immediately agreed to it.
“Alright, let’s go to the principal later and retrieve the student’s family information. We’ll see if we can find time to visit the child’s home. If we can get the guardian’s signature, we can directly provide assistance. At least, we can do our best to help in our own way and not let the student’s talents go to waste.”
On the other side, Yuan Hanshuang woke up from the familiar feeling of hunger.
After waking up, she climbed down from the bed in the medical room, put on her shoes, and supported herself against the wall as she walked step by step towards the exit.
Standing outside the door were a doctor in a white coat and two teachers.
One was the psychic teacher, Xiao Yunmeng, and the other was the combat class teacher, Hong Nian.
Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, the school doctor was momentarily stunned. “You’re awake? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
“Yes,” Yuan Hanshuang said in pain, “I’m really hungry.”
She hadn’t eaten enough for several days.
Yuan Hanshuang couldn’t have imagined that manifestation combat would consume so much energy.
She made a mistake! If she had known, she would have thrown a punch instead!
A few minutes later, the teachers led her to the Junior Academy’s cafeteria.
Yuan Hanshuang didn’t have time to admire the futuristic architecture of the building. Her eyes could only focus on the row of huge nutrient solution tanks in the distance, unable to look away.
It was truly the appearance of someone who hadn’t eaten enough for a long time and was starving.
Xiao Yunmeng swiped her staff card, and when she saw the screen display “Available for Use,” she stepped back and encouraged her in a compassionate voice, “Go ahead.”
Talented individuals were the future of the empire, and the empire attached great importance to them. The nutrient solutions in the Junior Academy were distributed uniformly by the relevant departments.
Just thinking about the sweet and fragrant taste of the high-grade nutrient solution made Yuan Hanshuang unable to help but salivate. “Tea-teacher, how much can I drink?”
As the teacher’s gaze, which was already filled with fondness, grew heavier, they said, “As long as you can drink it, you can drink as much as you want.”
“Thank you, teacher!” Yuan Hanshuang cheered and pounced on it like a hungry tiger.
Soon, the teachers’ fond gazes gradually turned hesitant.
Hong Nian said, “Wait a minute… Has she drunk a bit too much?”
Not just a bit.
Under Yuan Hanshuang’s bottomless appetite, the current nutrient solution level rapidly decreased on the screen, going from full to nearly half in no time.
The auntie preparing the food in the kitchen rubbed her eyes in confusion, then rubbed them again.
The school doctor, who arrived shortly after, was astonished. “No more drinking!!”
They quickly pulled Yuan Hanshuang away from the nutrient solution tank. During this time, her gaze lingered on it, reluctant to look away.
Yuan Hanshuang touched her stomach and silently raised her hand. “But, teacher, I’m still not full.”
If she had to say, she had only eaten half a meal.
Fortunately, the examination results showed no problems with her binge eating, and the school doctor breathed a sigh of relief. “No, you can’t. You were already malnourished, and binge eating could cause problems.”
That’s fine. Yuan Hanshuang understood the principle of stopping when it’s good.
She obediently thanked the teachers and left the cafeteria, glancing back three times.
