In the study, there was only the sound of weeping—suppressed sobs, sorrowful cries, Wei Yuxian’s cries.
Wei Yuxian couldn’t believe what she had seen. She violently threw the documents to the floor, looking at Fu Xuanyi through tear-filled eyes, asking, “It’s fake, right? It’s fake, right!” Fu Xuanyi didn’t speak; he just looked at her, reached out, and pulled her into his embrace.
Wei Yuxian’s emotions spiraled out of control, overwhelmed by grief, as she kept asking, “It’s fake… right? Ah Xuan… tell me… all of this… is fake… right…”
She cried and asked, tears falling like they were free, soaking Fu Xuanyi’s clothes.
Fu Xuanyi held her tightly, his voice somewhat hoarse, saying, “It is true.”
Wei Yuxian was in a state of collapse! Her body went limp, and she didn’t even have the strength to stand, about to collapse.
Fu Xuanyi quickly held her even tighter to prevent her from falling, giving her support, and comforting her with gentle pats.
Unfortunately, this didn’t help much. Wei Yuxian’s tears continued to fall, and they only increased.
When she heard the three words Fu Xuanyi said, her heart felt as if it had died, overwhelmed by immense sorrow, and her whole body trembled.
Since Fu Xuanyi had admitted it himself, then this matter must be true, with no room for error.
She was in a daze as Fu Xuanyi held her, murmuring, “I have no family left… I have no parents…”
The documents Fu Xuanyi had given her clearly stated that her parents had passed away.
Her biological parents were ordinary people, and her mother, Lin Xia, had always been in poor health. It took five years after marrying her father for them to have her.
When her mother gave birth to her, it greatly weakened her vitality. If she had properly recuperated, she might have recovered, but it was at that time that her adoptive mother, that malicious woman, appeared.
She actually swapped her with a dead infant!
Her parents believed that she hadn’t survived, and they were both deeply saddened. Her mother’s health deteriorated day by day, and she passed away a year later.
As for her father, he had tried to pull himself together, but three years later, he was taken by a sudden car accident.
There were no relatives from her parents’ side because both her father and mother were orphans. They met and developed feelings for each other in an orphanage, and once they had the ability and conditions, they got married.
They loved her very much because they had been orphans themselves, so they cherished their child even more, especially since her mother’s health was poor and it was difficult for them to have her.
Wei Yuxian could imagine the loving family she would have grown up in if she hadn’t been swapped.
Instead of living like a slave in that cage!
Her adoptive father and mother deserved to die.
Wei Yuxian couldn’t accept this news; she absolutely couldn’t accept it!
She had fantasized about the day she would find her parents, and they could reunite as a family, enjoying each other’s company.
But now, all her dreams were shattered!
The scenes she had once fantasized about were all impossible to happen; they were all snuffed out!
Her parents were no longer in this world.
In this world, there was no one else who shared her bloodline…
Wei Yuxian couldn’t stop crying, overwhelmed with grief, and she fainted from crying too much.
Fu Xuanyi held the person in his arms tightly, his lips pressed together in a firm line.
Feeling the person in his arms faint, he was heartbroken! He picked her up in a princess carry and walked towards the bedroom.
Mr. and Mrs. Fu followed behind, also looking at the small figure in Fu Xuanyi’s arms with expressions of pity.
This news was a fatal blow to her!
But there was no other way; she had to know, and she had to know sooner rather than later.
She was pregnant, a time when one’s mind tends to wander. If she wasn’t told sooner, her mind would be filled with all sorts of thoughts, one after another, and this constant worrying would also be harmful to her body.
Mrs. Fu also felt heartbroken. If possible, she would rather bear this pain herself.
Fu Xuanyi carried the person in his arms all the way back to the bedroom. Looking down, he could still see the tears on her face and her tightly furrowed brows, even in her unconscious state.
Mrs. Fu called Lin Chengyuan on the way, asking him to bring a doctor over quickly!
As soon as Lin Chengyuan received the call, he thought that Wei Yuxian’s child might be in danger. He urgently called the hospital director, asking him to bring several doctors and drive a small consultation vehicle to the Fu residence.
Before long, Lin Chengyuan arrived with several doctors.
“Auntie, what happened? Did something happen to my sister-in-law!” He asked anxiously as soon as he saw Mrs. Fu.
Mrs. Fu nodded and led him and the doctors up to the bedroom, saying, “Yuxian has had a bit of an incident.”
Upon hearing this, Lin Chengyuan couldn’t afford to walk leisurely anymore. He immediately led the doctors up to the bedroom, where he saw Wei Yuxian, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time, lying lifelessly on the bed!
“Young Master Xuanyi! What’s wrong with my sister-in-law?”
He approached Fu Xuanyi and asked.
The doctors also hurried over to examine Wei Yuxian.
Fu Xuanyi’s gaze was completely focused on the unconscious person as he said, “She’s overwhelmed with grief.”
Lin Chengyuan asked, “Overwhelmed with grief? How could my sister-in-law be overwhelmed with grief? Did you do something to let her down?”
Fu Xuanyi frowned and replied coldly, “No.”
Lin Chengyuan continued to press, “Then what is it? How did my sister-in-law suddenly… wasn’t she doing well the past few months?”
Although he hadn’t seen his sister-in-law for several months, Wei Yuxian’s prenatal check-ups were all done at their hospital, so he was aware of her condition.
He even stopped asking Xuanyi to drink with him when he found out Wei Yuxian was pregnant, just to give them some private space!
Fu Xuanyi shot him a cold glance, his tone even icier, saying, “Shut up, you’re being annoying.”
Lin Chengyuan opened his mouth, but upon seeing his terrifying expression, he chose to close it and waited patiently for the doctors to give their conclusion.
After a round of diagnosis, the doctors subsequently confirmed the same result as Fu Xuanyi: “Overwhelmed with grief.”
Fortunately, there were no other health issues, and her body was still relatively healthy. However, in the near future, she would need to be properly counseled to help her overcome her grief and stabilize her emotions.
Otherwise, even without any health issues, she could cry herself into trouble.
Fu Xuanyi acknowledged this and sent the doctors away.
Lin Chengyuan looked at Fu Xuanyi, still wanting to ask what had happened to cause Wei Yuxian to become like this.
But Fu Xuanyi’s heart and mind were fully occupied with Wei Yuxian, leaving no room for him.
It was Mrs. Fu, seeing him looking pitiful, who took him aside and briefly explained the situation.
After listening, Lin Chengyuan was filled with shock. He wished he could rush over to Wei Yuxian’s adoptive parents right now and give them a good beating!
