Fu Xuanyi then gave them some instructions to handle before allowing them to leave.
Guan Jinyou swiftly departed to attend to matters.
Lu Chengxiao wasn’t in a rush; he planned to return only after the individuals were apprehended. His sole purpose for staying was to finally see what Madam looked like!
Rumors had it that Madam was pregnant with two of Master Xuanyi’s children!
Upon hearing this news, Lu Chengxiao truly admired Master Xuanyi for having twins! Weren’t they from a lineage that struggled with lineage continuity? How did Madam manage to conceive twins so easily?
Perhaps it was divine favor that allowed Master Xuanyi to continue his lineage.
As Fu Xuanyi continued working on documents, he glanced at the person lingering and said, “Still here?”
Lu Chengxiao shamelessly replied, “Master Xuanyi, could you let me see Madam? I’m dying of curiosity.”
“She’s resting.”
Lu Chengxiao propped his foot on his thigh, crossing his legs lazily, placing his ankle on his thigh, and leisurely remarked, “I’m not in a hurry. I can wait for Madam to wake up.”
“Are you that free?”
Sensing the danger in his words, Lu Chengxiao pleaded, “Master Xuanyi, I just want to see Madam. Can’t you fulfill this small wish of mine?”
Fu Xuanyi coldly refused, “You’ll see her when the time is right.”
Implicitly telling him to leave immediately and not hinder things now.
With a pout of frustration, Lu Chengxiao reluctantly stood up, saying, “I’ll go check on how they’re handling things.”
Fu Xuanyi didn’t even lift his head, offering no farewell, engrossed in his work.
Dejectedly, Lu Chengxiao walked out of the Fu residence, got into a car driven by his junior, and soon turned his dejection into anger, asking his junior, “Have they brought the people back?”
The junior nervously reported, “The individuals have been apprehended and are on their way.”
Lu Chengxiao flashed a cold grin, showing his teeth, “Hurry, I can’t wait to see who dared to bully Madam!”
The junior immediately accelerated the car, driving at the fastest speed.

Wei Yuxian slept peacefully, reassured by Fu Xuanyi’s promise to resolve her worries, no longer burdened by concerns about her mother.
Upon waking up, Wei Yuxian rubbed her eyes, feeling a bit swollen and uncomfortable from crying so much today.
She sat blankly on the bed, glancing at her phone. It was already past 5 PM, nearing dinnertime.
She couldn’t believe she had slept so long, the entire afternoon! Not waking up even once!
She had a truly peaceful sleep!
Indeed, with no worries in her heart, she slept peacefully. If every sleep could be as serene in the future, it would be wonderful.
Wei Yuxian lazily stretched, feeling comfortable, and gazed at the winter scenery outside. The trees had shed all their leaves, not particularly appealing, yet Wei Yuxian found today’s view exceptionally beautiful.
As the sky darkened gradually, soon it would be completely dark. She sat on the edge of the bed, pulling back the covers. Somehow, she suddenly recalled Fu Xuanyi holding her at noon, right in the same spot where she was sitting now.
At that moment, Fu Xuanyi held her for a long time, and she couldn’t break free. He even kissed her several times!
He said he liked her!
Ah, looking back now, she still felt so shy. It was the first time someone liked her.
Feeling the warmth of someone’s care was truly wonderful. No wonder so many people wanted others to treat them well; this feeling was so special.
Wei Yuxian pondered those whimsical thoughts for a moment, shook her head to clear her mind, and quickly got up to freshen up. It was time for dinner.
After getting ready, she went downstairs and saw Aunt Fu instructing the servants to set the dinner table, but there was no sign of Fu Xuanyi downstairs.
She thought he must have gone back to the office and would return later.
So she sat patiently at the table, waiting for Fu Xuanyi to come back from work and have dinner together.
Since the events of the afternoon, she felt that Fu Xuanyi wasn’t as intimidating as she had initially thought. Her perception of him had changed considerably.
She no longer felt as afraid of him.
Having seen his smile and expressions beyond aloofness, she realized he was also a human being with emotions, not just a cold robot.
Moreover, he treated her well.
Aunt Fu approached, interrupting her thoughts, and said, “Madam, it’s dinner time. Could you please go to the study and ask Master Xuanyi to come down for dinner?”
She genuinely wanted to strengthen the bond between Master Xuanyi and Madam, hoping to see them getting along harmoniously.
Although she wasn’t aware of what had happened with Madam today, judging by Master Xuanyi’s demeanor, it must have been something serious. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have summoned Assistant Guan and Mr. Lu.
It seemed that Master Xuanyi truly cared for Madam. In fact, it should be said that Master Xuanyi had always cared deeply for Madam. She had never seen him show such patience and tenderness towards anyone else.
In Master Xuanyi’s eyes, Madam was irreplaceable. His affection was reserved solely for her.
Wei Yuxian was taken aback and asked, “He’s in the study? Didn’t he go to the office?”
She had assumed that Fu Xuanyi had gone to the office after she fell asleep, but it turned out…
Aunt Fu said, “Master Xuanyi has been in the study all afternoon, likely working. Madam, why don’t you go and call Master Xuanyi down for dinner?”
Wei Yuxian recalled the events of the afternoon and felt a bit shy, pursing her lips. She hesitated to go.
However, realizing that they would inevitably have to face each other, there was no way around it. She reluctantly agreed with an “Um,” then got up and proceeded to the study alone.
Wei Yuxian had been to Fu Xuanyi’s study many times, taken out numerous books to read, so she was quite familiar with the way.
Upon reaching the study door, instead of directly pushing it open, she decided to knock first.
After hearing a “Come in” from inside, she pushed the door open and entered.
The study’s layout was familiar, with some changes to the antiques on the shelves. While she couldn’t understand those antiques, she could tell they were valuable.
Fu Xuanyi was busy inside, his focus elsewhere, not lifting his head.
Approaching him near the desk, a sense of shyness crept over her once again as she softly said, “Ah Xuan, it’s time for dinner.”
Hearing her voice, Fu Xuanyi paused his work, checked the time, realizing it was already dinner time. He looked up at her, his face noticeably devoid of the usual cold detachment, saying, “One minute.”
He spent a minute wrapping up his tasks, shut down the computer, then stood up and approached Wei Yuxian. Naturally, he took her hand and said, “Let’s go.”
Wei Yuxian still wasn’t used to him holding her hand. Initially considering pulling her hand back, she realized it was futile and stopped herself.
