Mrs. Fu stepped in front of Wei Yuxian and said, “I was the one who let Yuxian out. Keeping her locked up in the house every day will suffocate her.”
Fu Xuanyi looked at his mother, unwilling to concede. “Her health isn’t good.”
Implicit in his words was the concern that she might fall ill.
Mrs. Fu countered, “Yuxian knows her own health best. Besides, it’s not like she’s out every day. If you took her out once in a while, would she be like this?”
Fu Xuanyi wanted to argue, but Mrs. Fu didn’t give him the chance, continuing, “I know you’re doing this for Yuxian’s sake, but you can’t keep her locked up all the time. It’s okay for her to come out occasionally to see the snow.”
“Could you stand being cooped up at home every day?” Mrs. Fu challenged.
Fu Xuanyi felt guilty. He knew it wasn’t right to keep someone locked up at home, but he couldn’t bear to let her go out alone, and he didn’t have the time to accompany her, so he had no choice but to let her stay at home.
Seeing her lower her head, resembling a child who had done something wrong, his demeanor softened. “Next time, tell me before you go out.”
How could he be harsh with his obedient one?
Wei Yuxian quickly nodded. “Mm-hmm.”
Fu Xuanyi helped her put on her clothes, afraid she might get cold. Holding her hand, they walked back home. Once inside, he didn’t immediately ask her to take off her coat. He waited until she felt warm before letting her remove it.

Wei Yuxian walked around the living room for a bit after dinner before returning to her room, preparing to take a shower and sleep. With the weather getting colder, she just wanted to snuggle into her cozy blankets and drift off to sleep peacefully.
She thought that the snowman-building incident from this afternoon had passed, especially since Fu Xuanyi’s attitude had softened. But who could have imagined that Fu Xuanyi had no intention of letting her off!
After taking a shower, she saw the man sitting on the bed, with a bottle of pregnancy oil placed on the bedside table, indicating that this man was about to perform his nightly routine.
