Fighting? No way—that’s not happening. Training is coming up, and if a fight breaks out now, someone’s getting locked up.
The detention room gets its fair share of Alphas every single day.
Just like Lei Po said, this round of training is way tougher than the last. By session count, this is the second morning session, making it the fourth pheromone resistance training.
Compared to yesterday, it’s on a whole new level. Yesterday, they managed to hold out, which boosted the Alphas’ confidence—only for that confidence to be shattered completely today.
One Alpha broke down, shouting, “Damn! At this rate, are they gonna bring in top-tier Omega pheromones next?!”
“Like hell I’d be worthy of that!”
Seriously, was this necessary? Why go this hard for a pheromone training exercise?
Today, they straight-up brought out S-rank pheromones!
The overwhelming scent had the freshmen either passing out or losing control and starting fights. This time, though, they’d learned their lesson. After the threat of losing merit points, most of the Alphas who felt themselves slipping quickly pressed their wristbands.
At least Ji Laili didn’t have to go around knocking people out and pressing their wristbands for them this time.
But the unfortunate part? His rhinitis had gotten worse!
After inhaling Shen Yu’s pheromones yesterday, Ji Laili’s condition relapsed hard. He spent half the night sniffing, struggling to breathe, and feeling miserable.
While his dormmates snored like thunder, Ji Laili quietly got out of bed.
With nothing better to do, he decided to head to the training ground in the middle of the night.
And ran straight into Lei Po.
The scene was awkward as hell. Dark night, strong winds, two Alphas locking eyes.
Ji Laili: “Po-ge, didn’t you say extra training is for losers?”
Lei Po: “…Of course! Do you think I’d lie to you? I just couldn’t sleep and happened to walk over!”
Ji Laili: “Ge, maybe put away that weighted vest first?”
Lei Po: “…Shut up.”
Ji Laili chuckled, eyes curved in amusement. The second place guy was working hard, and the first place guy had to find a way to hold his ground.
Of course, if Lei Po found out, he’d probably want to assassinate him, because Ji Laili had no idea that, after these past few training sessions, the first-place ranking had already quietly changed hands.
Without anyone explicitly saying it, all the freshmen had acknowledged him as number one.
And his two closest competitors were eyeing him like hungry wolves.
Lei Po’s mind ran wild—“Damn, this guy has been sneaking out to train every night? No wonder he overtook me for first place!”—followed by, “Unlucky for you that I caught you on your first night here!”
So, to stall Ji Laili’s progress, Lei Po, feeling guilty, dragged him into conversation.
Then, another thought hit him—damn, he really was a sinful Alpha.
In the end, Ji Laili left feeling refreshed, his nose finally clear, while Lei Po was left wracked with guilt, even dreaming about it.
But now, his rhinitis was flaring up again. The difference between A-rank and S-rank pheromones was huge.
What about Shen Yu’s?
Ji Laili rubbed his reddened nose, recalling the pheromones he’d encountered before. They were powerful—basically a rhinitis trigger.
That meant Shen Yu’s pheromones were even stronger. Makes sense, considering he’s the male lead who managed to turn the tables in an HHH world.
When the morning training ended, the Alphas dragged themselves out, completely drained, their faces filled with utter defeat.
Ji Laili stepped out and immediately grabbed his nasal spray, dousing himself with it.
He sniffed. Finally, some fresh air.
And then—
The loudspeaker blared, delivering Instructor Aige’s ruthless announcement:
“Attention all freshmen, combat training is about to begin. Report to Training Ground 3 immediately.”
As soon as the words dropped, the place exploded like water hitting hot oil. After a moment of stunned silence, the air was filled with curses.
“Are you fucking kidding me?! Combat training now?! They just want us to get our asses kicked!”
“My legs are jelly… My whole body is jelly… Even a little Omega could take me down right now.”
“Dream on! You think you’re getting taken down by an Omega? The real question is—how does the instructor want to fuck you up? ‘Cause there’s no escape now!”
At those words, all the Alphas shuddered in horror.
Ji Laili’s hand trembled, nearly spraying the nasal spray into his eyes.
Damn, that’s some Wei-Jin swagger!
Is this how Alphas normally talk? This was a whole new level of eye-opening.
Originally, combat training was supposed to come after pheromone resistance training, but they shoved it right in now—right when all the Alphas were at their weakest.
The exhausted trainees barely arrived when—BAM!—an Alpha came flying toward them!
“What the hell?!”
Instinctively, an Alpha kicked at the incoming body—but he was too weak. His strength had been drained by the pheromones, so instead of sending the guy flying, he ended up twisting his own foot.
“Shit…” He weakly raised a trembling hand.
“Who the hell just threw me?! And you—how dare you insult me! If I don’t crush you today, I’ll take on the other bastard’s last name!”
The Alpha pinned underneath him cursed furiously, his rage burning.
The others watching had just started smirking—
When they met the same fate moments later.
“Fuck!”
“Shit!”
“Goddammit!”
Like trash being thrown out, Alphas were getting flung left and right, one after another.
Of course, they were all weak right now. If they got tossed elsewhere and landed wrong, their, uh, important parts might get injured.
And as the saying goes, better you than me!
So—bro, lend me your arms, I need a soft landing!
One guy even shouted dramatically, “You bastards in there, just you wait—I’ll be back!”
He twisted midair, weak but nimble as a monkey, falling straight down—
A shadow loomed over Ji Laili.
He looked up, saw the incoming crash, and instinctively kicked out.
Right on the guy’s ass.
“Holy shit!”
The Alpha flew back in a perfect arc, landing right back where he came from.
Inside the training ground, a group of senior Alphas in black-gold military uniforms stood tall, their attitudes arrogant. A golden triangle gleamed on their shoulders as they cracked their knuckles, smirking.
“These freshmen are pretty weak,” one of them scoffed.
“Thought they’d last longer. One hit and they’re down.”
“Guess this mission’s harder than we expected.”
Recently, an announcement had gone out on the forums: senior cadets were being assigned as instructors.
The requirements were strict, so the ones here were the elites.
And one thing they all had in common? They were members of the patrol squad.
To these rebellious, cocky Alpha freshmen, the upperclassmen had zero patience.
Eugene, one of the seniors, sneered at the collapsed freshmen. “Ever heard of clowns?”
“They don’t have red noses, but damn, they’re funny.”
His voice dripped with condescension as he side-eyed the furious but powerless freshmen. “Hey, clowns—are we in a circus or what?”
A laugh burst out from the seniors, their disdain clear as day.
The freshmen glared, anger flaring.
Then—
“FUCK YOU ALL! YOU LITTLE SHITS THINK YOU CAN LOOK DOWN ON US?!”
The Alpha Ji Laili had kicked back in came stumbling out, spitting blood, but still standing.
“I’m back, aren’t I?!”
He turned to the incoming freshmen.
“These assholes wanna be our instructors—are you guys gonna take that?”
“Get up there and beat their asses!”
