Chapter 27: Fang Qinghe Wanted to Violate Shen Jiaojiao
The sight of Fang Qinghe now made Shen Jiaojiao feel utterly disgusted. If murder were not illegal, she would have already chopped him into minced meat and fed him to the dogs.
Fang Qinghe arrived before Shen Jiaojiao, panting heavily.
“Jiaojiao, what’s wrong with you these past few days? Why are you ignoring me? If I did something wrong, just tell me, and I’ll change, alright?”
He wore an expression of deep affection.
In the past, Shen Jiaojiao had been completely deceived by his sweet-talking and slick words, falling for the tricks he used to fool naive girls.
She had even been foolish enough to do anything for him.
Thinking back now, Fang Qinghe’s greasy, shameless face was nothing short of revolting.
“Do me a favor and stay far away from me from now on. I don’t want to see you ever again. And let me make one thing clear—I never liked you. Being with you before was just for fun. You actually took it seriously? How ridiculously stupid.”
Fang Qinghe’s expression changed slightly.
“Jiaojiao, you must be blaming me for not giving you a proper commitment. Fine, I’ll say it now—I want to marry you. We’ll get married right away.”
Shen Jiaojiao rolled her eyes.
“Fang Qinghe, do you really think you’re something special? Take a good look at yourself! A lazy, idle bum like you—what makes you think I’d ever be interested? Where does your confidence even come from? A tree relies on its bark to survive, and a person relies on their dignity. If you have even a shred of self-awareness, get lost now.”
“Shen Jiaojiao, have I been too nice to you? How dare you speak to me like this?”
Fang Qinghe was completely enraged.
Shen Jiaojiao had once obeyed his every word, but now, she had become wild and untamed.
The stark contrast was unbearable.
If he couldn’t have her, he wouldn’t let anyone else have her either.
“Shen Jiaojiao, do you believe I won’t completely ruin your reputation today?”
He wasn’t joking.
Shen Jiaojiao knew that when Fang Qinghe was ruthless, he recognized no kinship and would do anything.
She looked around.
At this moment, there wasn’t a single person in sight.
If Fang Qinghe truly destroyed her innocence, she would be entangled with him forever.
Shen Jiaojiao bit her lip, then suddenly, her eyes lit up as she looked past Fang Qinghe.
“Xu Mo.”
Fang Qinghe was stunned and instinctively turned his head to look behind him, only to see an empty clearing.
“Shen Jiaojiao, how dare you trick me!”
He whipped his head back around—
“Go to hell!” Shen Jiaojiao shouted as she flung a handful of flour straight into Fang Qinghe’s eyes.
Then, without hesitation, she bolted.
Fang Qinghe had been caught off guard. The fine powder instantly blinded him, leaving his vision a blurry mess.
By the time he regained his senses, Shen Jiaojiao had already run far away.
He gritted his teeth.
“Jiaojiao, don’t run! Listen to me!”
Fang Qinghe took off after her in quick pursuit.
Despite her delicate appearance, Shen Jiaojiao ran like the wind, her pace swift and effortless.
Just as she was about to escape the woods, a sudden sharp pain shot through her foot.
In an instant, she crashed to the ground.
“Ah…!”
A cry of pain escaped her lips as a piercing agony spread through her ankle.
Looking back, she saw that her foot had been caught in a hunting trap.
The jagged metal teeth had sunk deep into her skin, blood gushing from the wound.
Frustration surged through her—
Why was her luck so terrible?!
Fang Qinghe was closing in fast. Clenching her teeth, Shen Jiaojiao prepared to retreat into her personal space.
After all, it was just the two of them here. Even if Fang Qinghe later tried to reveal her secret, she could easily brush it off, calling him superstitious and delusional.
As long as she refused to acknowledge it, no one could do anything about her.
Just as she counted down in her mind—three, two, one—
A towering figure suddenly emerged behind Fang Qinghe.
The overwhelming presence radiated dominance.
Without hesitation, the newcomer swung a powerful fist, knocking Fang Qinghe to the ground with a single blow.
Shen Jiaojiao stared in shock.
It was Xu Mo.
“Third Brother! You’re finally here! He—he tried to ruin my innocence!”
Her voice carried a deep grievance.
Xu Mo’s expression darkened, his eyes filled with ruthless fury.
Xu Mo grabbed Fang Qinghe by the collar and delivered another fierce punch.
Then another.
And another.
His thin lips were pressed tightly together, his fury barely contained.
For a moment, he even considered beating Fang Qinghe to death.
Fang Qinghe had no chance against Xu Mo.
Not only because Xu Mo carried the aura of a male protagonist, but also because he was simply no match for him in a fight.
Now, beaten black and blue, he was utterly helpless.
“Xu Mo, if you kill me, you’ll go to prison!”
Fang Qinghe glared at him defiantly.
He refused to believe that Xu Mo would actually dare to take his life.
But Xu Mo wasn’t listening.
His fist came crashing down again, knocking Fang Qinghe unconscious.
“Third Brother, stop! Don’t ruin your future over an idiot like him!”
Hearing Shen Jiaojiao’s words, Xu Mo finally calmed down.
He quickly strode over to her side.
“Are you alright?”
“My foot got caught in a hunting trap.”
Xu Mo’s gaze darkened as he looked at her injured ankle, his eyes flashing with intensity.
“Bear with it. I’ll get it off you.”
“Okay.”
Xu Mo gripped the trap firmly with both hands and pulled it apart with force.
The metal jaws loosened instantly, allowing Shen Jiaojiao’s foot to slip free.
It was only then that she truly saw the extent of her injury—
Her entire ankle was encircled by jagged wounds, deep cuts seeping blood nonstop.
It looked far from minor.
Xu Mo’s expression grew even darker.
Without hesitation, he scooped her up in his arms. His voice carried a trace of urgency.
“I’m taking you to Town Hospital.”
Just then, Xu Mo’s eldest brother, Xu Zhengyang, and second brother, Xu Fugu, arrived at the scene.
“Third Brother, what’s going on?”
Xu Mo’s chiseled face was filled with cold hostility.
He shot a brief glance at Fang Qinghe, who lay unconscious on the ground.
“Big Brother, Second Brother, take him to the Public Security Bureau and report that he tried to violate a female educated youth.”
Xu Zhengyang and Xu Fugu immediately lifted Fang Qinghe and carried him away.
Meanwhile, Xu Mo, still holding Shen Jiaojiao in his arms, headed toward the Captain’s house to borrow a bicycle.
As they emerged from the small woods, they unexpectedly ran into a large group of people coming from the other direction.
Leading the group was none other than the Captain himself.
Behind him, two men were tied up tightly with ropes, followed by a crowd of onlookers eager to watch the commotion.
“Old Third, Jiaojiao, what happened to you two?”
Liu Xiaolan immediately rushed to Xu Mo’s side, her sharp eyes catching sight of Shen Jiaojiao’s injured leg.
“Ah! Jiaojiao, who hurt your foot? How did it get this bad?”
At the same time, Mother Fang noticed the unconscious figure being carried by Xu Zhengyang and Xu Fugu.
The man looked somewhat familiar.
She squinted for a closer look—
Wasn’t that her son?!
“My son! What happened to you? Which heartless bastard beat you up like this?!”
Wailing loudly, Mother Fang threw herself at Fang Qinghe’s side, slapping his face and pinching his philtrum in an attempt to wake him up.
“My son! Why are you just lying there? Open your eyes and look at your mother! Don’t scare me like this!”
The Captain felt a massive headache coming on.
These people were nothing but trouble.
“What is going on now?” he asked in a deep voice.
Shen Jiaojiao gave a brief account of how Fang Qinghe had attempted to violate her.
The moment she finished, Mother Fang erupted into hysterical shrieks.
“You’re lying! My son would never do such a thing! It was clearly you who seduced him!”
“Hah! Your son looks like a pile of shit in a latrine—why would I ever be interested in him? Only you would treasure a piece of crap like that!”
Shen Jiaojiao snapped back without hesitation.
She had suffered enough today—being chased, nearly assaulted, and even injuring her foot.
She wasn’t going to let Fang Qinghe off so easily!
