Chapter 11.1
The recording stopped, and the car was silent. Jin Lie’s ugly face made Su Qian feel the urge to jump out of the car, fearing that he might silence her in a fit of anger.
Putting herself in his shoes, anyone would be furious if they were labeled as “can’t do it” for no reason after coming home for a meal.
However, the problem was thus resolved, and Su Qian’s empathy could only stay at the most superficial level.
She clenched her phone and cleared her throat, “You’ve listened to the recording, it should prove that I’m innocent, right?”
She was afraid of getting burned, so she left this trick when Mother Jin talked to her after she left the door.
Jin Lie’s face was as cold as frost, like a perfect ice sculpture sitting in the driver’s seat.
His mood had been up and down all night, and after living for more than twenty years, he finally tasted the bitterness of being unable to explain and the taste of swallowing bitter pills. And the woman in front of him was the instigator.
“Innocent?” He said sarcastically, “Was that thing a gift from me?”
Although Su Qian didn’t directly say that he had a problem, every sentence was indirectly admitting this “fact”. Fanning the flames and aiding the tyrant in his abuse, if this were ancient times, she would definitely be a character like Daji[1]妲己(dájǐ) = Daji, is a character from Chinese history and mythology. In historical records, she was a consort of King Zhou of Shang, the last king of the Shang Dynasty in ancient China. In … Continue reading.
Su Qian choked, “Don’t you think this is actually quite good? Do you really want to have children with me?”
“Why don’t you say that you’re the one with the problem?”
“Because no one doubts me like that! Besides, it’s easier to solve if you’re the one with the problem, after all, family disgrace should not be aired. If the person in question were me… do you believe that this matter would be spread throughout the upper circles the next day?”
Jin Lie sneered in anger, “I won’t spread it?”
Su Qian said as a matter of course, “The only people who know you’re sick are your parents and me. Would they talk about their own son’s affairs? Of course not. I don’t even need to mention it, because I can’t get into the upper circles at all.”
You’re the one who’s sick!
A round of analysis was as fierce as a tiger, and what she said was as if it were true.
Jin Lie was so angry that he didn’t want to say anything, and with a push of the accelerator, the car shot out like an arrow off its string. Su Qian was caught off guard, and the seat belt across her chest almost made her pass out.
“Are you trying to murder me?”
She coughed twice, and subconsciously wanted to rub her aching chest. When she realized where she was, she had to give up.
Damn it, it hurts her to death!
Jin Lie turned his face, looking at her coldly, “What’s wrong?”
Su Qian gritted her teeth, “It hurts!”
“Where does it hurt?”
“What do you think?!”
“Oh~” Jin Lie suddenly realized, his tone filled with a hint of sarcasm, “Your temper is much bigger than that.”
With that, he continued to drive as if nothing had happened.
In the dim light, Su Qian stared hard at Jin Lie’s profile, and her little fists clenched tightly.
You’re the one who’s small!
Everything about you is small!
Aaahhhh!
This dog man!
She’s so angry, she could die!!!
—
Su Qian had a good night’s sleep, unaware that because of this misunderstanding, Jin’s parents had contacted a familiar old Chinese doctor and an authoritative expert in men’s health overnight.
Today, Mrs. Wang was off, so the cooking and other household chores naturally fell to Su Qian. Jin Lie was picky about his food, so she prepared breakfast very carefully.
Jin Lie ate without any expression, not saying a word from beginning to end. But from Su Qian’s understanding of him, his silence sometimes equated to praise.
After breakfast, Jin Lie sat at the dining table reading the newspaper, while Su Qian sat on the sofa watching TV. The Discovery Channel was broadcasting a biology documentary, showing the process of frog eggs hatching into tadpoles.
Su Qian was sipping red tea and watching with interest. Before long, her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up and saw a message from Mother Jin:
【Has Ah Lie checked the survival rate of the tadpoles?】
Su Qian thought it was quite a coincidence, could it be that her mother-in-law was also watching this program? But they didn’t raise anything like this at home.
She glanced at the TV where the tadpoles were metamorphosing into frogs, and replied absentmindedly: 【He doesn’t have this thing.】
Mother Jin didn’t reply to the message.
At first, Su Qian didn’t pay much attention and continued to watch TV. It wasn’t until the words “fertilized eggs” appeared on the TV that she suddenly realized something. She quickly picked up her phone and re-read the message.
“……”
What the hell, so this “tadpole” is not that “tadpole”. Su Qian had a headache, it seemed like the misunderstanding was getting bigger and bigger!
As she was worrying about what to do, Jin Lie came over from the dining room, looking like he was about to leave.
“Wait!” Su Qian walked over with a stiff face, stammering, “Umm, are you leaving?”
Jin Lie looked down, and glanced at her lightly, “What do you want to do?”
“I don’t want to do anything.” Her eyes were evasive.
Jin Lie glanced at the time and walked straight to the door, bypassing her.
“I was just watching a biology documentary. Then your mother suddenly sent a message.”
Jin Lie’s eyelids twitched, and he suddenly had a bad premonition, “What message?”
Su Qian swallowed, handed him her phone, “It seems that she suspects… you have erectile dysfunction.”
Jin Lie: “……”
He stared intently at the phone screen, as if trying to burn two holes in it.
“I thought she was asking about real tadpoles…”
In the dead silence, Su Qian suddenly felt like she might have gone too far. Maybe she should find a way to clarify for him.
He obviously has a damn handsome face, but from now on, every time he comes home, he will be greeted with pitiful eyes from his parents, which no one can bear.
What’s worse, frogs have many tadpoles, but handsome Jin Lie doesn’t.
Where can he go to reason this out?
Thinking about this, Su Qian sighed inexplicably. She lifted her eyes and met Jin Lie’s sharp gaze.
In the silent stare, he suddenly showed a bewitching smile, “What were you thinking just now?”
Poor you, you don’t have tadpoles.
Su Qian: “I wasn’t thinking about anything.”
“Really?”
