Becoming the Contract Wife of the Wealthy Male Supporting Character Ch 13.1

Chapter 13.1

When Su Qian left the Su family, she was holding back a belly full of anger. As she entered the elevator, a deafening door slam echoed from the end of the corridor. These people couldn’t bully her, so they could only vent their anger by slamming the door.

As the elevator slowly descended, Su Qian took a deep breath.

She had never missed her parents so much. Although her family had experienced bankruptcy and tasted the coldness of human relationships, the three of them had never been apart. No matter what happened, they would always strive in the same direction.

During the hard times, they clearly felt that their family was always their support, and the difficulties would soon pass. The result of their joint efforts was that in about two years, all the debts of the family were paid off, and her father started to do business again with renewed vigor.

The original family will affect a child’s life. Thinking about it, the original owner’s character probably couldn’t be separated from such a terrible environment.

Su Qian walked to the car, and when she bent over to open the door, she saw her own reflection in the glass window.

This face was seventy percent similar to her original appearance, but it was also strange. A wave of inexplicable irritation surged up from the bottom of her heart, she let go of the door handle, raised her head and took a deep breath.

Across the street, neon lights were diffusing in the night. Next to the convenience store, three boys in their teens were throwing stones at a little black cat hiding in the corner of the wall.

Weakness and bullying. The former’s helpless eyes were full of fear, while the latter treated it as a fun thing and laughed heartily.

Su Qian slammed the car door shut and walked over with a cold face.

Crossing the zebra crossing, the laughter became clear, mixed with the weak cries of the kitten. The three boys tirelessly threw small stones at it, and their faces filled with teasing and mischievous smiles.

“Blueberry!” Su Qian called out to the cat, and looked at the three little boys expressionlessly, “Are you bullying my cat?!”

“Your cat? Stop lying! This stray cat has been here for several days.”

Another little boy jiggled the stone in his hand and made a face at her, “We’re playing with it, is that not allowed?”

“Is throwing stones at it called playing?”

“Yeah, that’s how we play, is it any of your business?”

The little boy looked stubborn and didn’t think he was doing anything wrong at all.

Su Qian laughed, didn’t waste words, took out her phone and showed them the video she had just recorded, “Are you playing with the cat or abusing it, let the police decide.”

Hearing the word ‘police’, the boy jiggling the stone changed his expression. Fear crept into his eyes, but he still talked tough due to his pride, “I’m not afraid if you call the police! I’m not old enough to go to jail!”

“Who said you’re going to jail?” Su Qian curved her lips, and showed him a creepy smile, “I will post this video online, unblurred. By then, your classmates, teachers, relatives and friends will all see how you play with small animals, and then everyone will stay far away from you.”

“I don’t believe it! You can’t fool me!”

After shouting loudly, the little boy ran away quickly with the other two.

Su Qian clicked her tongue, and warned them as she watched their retreating figures, “If you bully the weak again, I’ll give this video to your school.”

The little boy stiffened, tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground. The other two sneaked a glance at Su Qian, clumsily helped him up, and then ran away in a fluster.

Stinky brats!

Su Qian put away her phone and carefully walked over to the kitten. It was a little kitten, probably only two or three months old. Its small body was pressed tightly against the wall, and its bright eyes were full of fear when it looked at people.

Su Qian was struck by this gaze, and her heart gave a sudden jolt.

“Where is your mother?”

“Meow——”

The small, weak cry seemed to be responding to her.

The little guy was covered in dust, and its nose was scratched by a stone and bleeding.

Su Qian tentatively reached out her hand and stroked its head gently, “Would you like to go to the hospital with this sister?”

She carefully picked up the cat and put it in the car, then Su Qian opened the navigation and followed the route to the nearest pet hospital.

The sky started to drizzle. The windshield was streaked with water. When she got out of the car, Su Qian held an umbrella in one hand and the little guy in the other. It seemed to know that its situation had improved, and nestled quietly in her arms, and was very docile.

After the doctor asked about the situation, he began to do a detailed examination of the kitten. While waiting outside, Su Qian casually picked up a pet care guide and read it with interest.

She had always wanted to keep a pet to accompany her, but she was too busy with work and didn’t have time to take care of it, so this plan had never been realized. Now, she has no such worries… because she has plenty of time.

Su Qian decided to take the guide home and read it slowly.

Just as she was about to get up and see how the examination was going, the glass door was suddenly pushed open forcefully.

A cool breeze mixed with moisture rushed in. And a man holding a half-grown golden retriever rushed into the hospital and went straight inside.

Clear footprints were left on the ground, and his black hoodie and jeans were already soaked through.

The dog was taken in by the doctor, and his gaze fell straight inside, and the dog tag in his hand shimmered with water.

Su Qian was about two meters away from him. She didn’t even get a clear look at the man’s face, but at this moment, she could clearly feel the sorrow emanating from him.

Before long, the doctor came out and shook his head at him.

The man’s body stiffened slightly, and his hoarse voice was full of hardship, “Give it to me, I’ll take it away.”

Just like when he came in, he held the unresponsive golden retriever in his arms and turned to leave.

His expression was very calm, his angular face was wet from the rain, and it seemed as if there was also a mist in his eyes under his bangs.

He pushed open the glass door with his body and looked up at the rainy sky.

The pitch-black night almost merged with him. The tail of the golden retriever drooped down, and the sadness spread into loneliness.

Without thinking too much, Su Qian picked up her umbrella and followed him out.

In the flying rain curtain, she held the umbrella over the man’s head. Raindrops hit the umbrella, making a muffled sound.

The man turned his head and looked at her without saying a word.

“Don’t let it get rained-on on its last day.”

The man’s Adam’s apple moved, but he didn’t speak.

Su Qian didn’t care much, she gave him a friendly smile and put the umbrella over his shoulder.

Jiang Zhan looked at her retreating figure, his eyes trembling slightly, as if he could feel the warmth of the umbrella handle in his palm.
