Chapter 21.5
The gentle wind, the warm sun, baked this woman and cat into a drowsy state. Su Qian was curled up lazily in the lounge chair, and Blueberry playfully scratched her hair with its paw, she frowned and hugged it into her arms. The halo of the sun was all around, and an indescribable sense of happiness arose spontaneously.
Jin Lie curled up the corner of his mouth, his fatigue dissipated and he was about to continue working at the desk, when Su Qian suddenly slowly opened her eyes.
It seemed like she really fell asleep, her eyes still hazy and drowsy. The little guy nudged her, she soothingly stroked its back, then raised a brilliant smile and waved to the upstairs.
Her white chiffon skirt was laid on the ground and gently blown by the wind. Her smile was even brighter and more dazzling than the sunlight.
Jin Lie’s heart moved slightly, he pondered for a few seconds, then returned to the desk and wrote a few words on the paper: Do you still want to sleep?
Su Qian curved the corner of her mouth and lazily shook her head. Then she saw Jin Lie write: Do you want me to play with you for a while?
.
Su Qian thought that according to Jin Lie’s personality, what he meant by playing was probably watching a movie together, playing games, or going to the billiard room to play a couple of rounds of pool.
After guessing for a long time, she didn’t expect him to take out a deck of poker and two water-based pens.
Su Qian: “What are we going to play?”
“Can’t you tell? We’re playing poker.”
She pointed at the two pens, “What are these for?”
Jin Lie sat down on the sofa and explained, “Of course there has to be a punishment for losing at poker. Whoever wins gets to draw a turtle on the loser’s face.”
Su Qian: “……”
Can’t the dignified Mr. Jin come up with something more elegant? Isn’t this a game for elementary school students? And drawing a turtle… it’s so ugly!
“Don’t you have anything else to play?” She had a full face of refusal.
As Jin Lie shuffled the cards, he brainwashed her in a sneaky way, “You better think about it, today you can take revenge for old and new grudges if you win, but once this opportunity is gone, it’s gone.”
It seemed a bit tempting. Su Qian was somewhat eager.
“I’m not good at playing poker, you really don’t want to come? Then forget it.”
Jin Lie pretended to leave, and Su Qian quickly stopped him, “Come on!”
It’s a game. It’s for fun. It’s better than doing nothing, and luck also plays a part in this, it’s still uncertain who will win.
So the first round started, and Su Qian won in a muddle.
She rubbed her hands together, chose the thicker of the two pens, and with a lewd smile on her face as if she was going to ruin a beautiful girl, she drew a Brazilian turtle on Jin Lie’s forehead.
“You’re precious, so I drew you something valuable.”
Jin Lie picked up the thin marker pen and continued the game.
Su Qian won three games in a row, and Jin Lie had a Brazilian turtle drawn on his forehead and both cheeks. He looked funnier than ever.
Seeing his handsome face being ruined like this, Su Qian laughed so hard that she couldn’t straighten up.
“Are you happy?” Jin Lie asked in a good mood.
Su Qian wiped away her tears, held her stomach, and nodded, “Happy… I couldn’t be happier.”
But from the fourth game onwards, she couldn’t be happy anymore.
She stared wide-eyed at the cards in her hand, was this a hornet’s nest? It seemed like all the small points were caught by her.
Sure enough, she lost this round.
Jin Lie threw away the poker cards, and said calmly, “Good luck.”
Seeing him pick up the pen, Su Qian swallowed nervously, “This… can it be washed off?”
People are selfish, when she was drawing on Jin Lie, she only felt cool, without considering other issues. But when it was her turn to be drawn, countless potential problems flashed through her mind.
Will it hurt?
The pen tip is so thin, it won’t scratch her skin, right?
What if the black ink can’t be washed off?
Jin Lie pinched her chin, with a hint of ambiguous laughter in his eyes, “Of course it can be washed off.”
With that, he drew a little turtle on her pink cheek with the pen. Big eyes, small shell, it looked a bit cute.
Su Qian puffed up her cheeks, feeling inexplicably pressured. It was as if Jin Lie had put a real turtle on her face.
“You wait, I will definitely win this round!”
However, after five consecutive rounds, there were six turtles on Su Qian’s face.
Aaahhh…
What on earth is going on, where did it go wrong! It was her who shuffled the cards, why are they still so bad!
Jin Lie looked at her colorful face, and planned where to draw the next one. Her face was too small to fit any more.
Su Qian picked up a small mirror and looked at it, crying for a long time, and finally comforted herself, “It’s okay, even the Sea King is like this!”
Jin Lie couldn’t help but chuckle, “You’re not a Sea King, you’re more like a water ghost.”
Su Qian put away the mirror, and gave him an annoyed glance, “You’re the water ghost. Isn’t it strange why your luck is so good? Be honest, did you cheat?”
Jin Lie’s eyes flickered, he retorted, “Can’t you accept defeat? If you don’t believe me, you can check the surveillance.”
Oh right. She had forgotten that she had installed a surveillance camera. But to check it for this matter seems a bit overkill and petty.
After playing two more rounds, Su Qian still lost. There was no blank space left on her face. She simply cheated, “No more playing, no more drawing! I’ll buy you a real one another day to make up for it!”
“I don’t want a real one.” Jin Lie refused her unreasonable compensation, “Next time we play, remember to return it.”
“Okay, okay, I will return it.”
As Su Qian was in a hurry to wash her face, the phone suddenly rang. After Xu Ke exchanged a few pleasantries, he got to the point.
“I’ve come across a script here, I think you might be interested in the subject matter. Should I send the script to your home or would you like to come to the company to take a look?”
Su Qian hurriedly said, “I’ll go over tomorrow.”
It would be a waste if she let him come to her house. Wouldn’t Jin Lie’s curtains be hidden in vain?
“Alright, Sister Qianqian, see you tomorrow.”
After hanging up the phone, Su Qian found that Jin Lie was no longer in the living room. As her gaze shifted, she inadvertently caught sight of many scattered poker cards hidden in a corner of the sofa.
In a flash, an idea rushed into her mind.
“Jin – Lie – I’m not done with you!”
He actually used two decks of poker to trick her! Does he think it’s fair to the little turtles on her face!
Jin Lie leaned against the railing on the second floor, pretending to spread his hands, “Such an obvious flaw and you didn’t notice it, who can you blame?”
“Blame me for thinking too highly of you!” Su Qian stormed upstairs to settle accounts with him.
“You have work tomorrow, aren’t you going to wash your face? Be careful, if the chemicals stay on your face for too long, you might get pimples.”
The words “get pimples” were like a curse that stopped Su Qian in her tracks. For her, this was much more devastating than being struck by five thunders.
“You just wait!”
Su Qian hastily left her words behind and rushed into the bathroom. She didn’t want to meet people with a face full of turtles.
Jin Lie suddenly laughed behind her, “Alright, remember to tell me the time and place.”
He can wait no matter how long.
