Chapter 1

After Shen Yiyi was killed by Lin Jiadong, her soul drifted through the world.

Then, she saw her three sons coming to take revenge on Lin Jiadong—  

“Lin Jiadong, you killed our mom! We want your life in return!”  

The three teenage boys beat Lin Jiadong to within an inch of his life.  

As a result, her three sons were imprisoned and sentenced to life.  

When the judge asked them if they regretted their actions, the three boys, with their faces filled with hatred, responded: “He killed our mom! Why isn’t he the one dead?”  

Shen Yiyi wanted them to stop talking.  

But her ethereal body could not touch anything.  

The scene shifted.

She saw her husband, Li Chen, using ruthless means to drive Lin Jiadong to bankruptcy.

In the end, he got into a car and sped straight toward Lin Jiadong—  

“No!” Shen Yiyi screamed in agony.  

The scene changed again.

She arrived in a pure white space, where a mechanical voice rang out:  

“Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have successfully completed your 999th mission. You are now officially retired. Please choose a world to enjoy your retirement. I can grant you any two wishes.”  

Shen Yiyi gradually detached herself from the scenes she had just witnessed, gasping for breath.  

She was an employee of the Fast-Travel Bureau, specializing in traveling through different worlds to play the role of a vicious supporting female character, ensuring the smooth progression of the plot.  

What she had just seen was the final mission she had completed—an event from a novel called Reversing to a Perfect Life.  

Lin Jiadong was the male protagonist of the book. Li Chen was the main villain who constantly opposed him, while she was the vicious supporting female character obsessed with Lin Jiadong—Li Chen’s wife.  

The novel revolved around Lin Jiadong, a once-glorious favored son of heaven, who, after experiencing a drastic family upheaval, was sent to the countryside for re-education.

There, he struggled to survive against all odds and ultimately rose to become the wealthiest man.

The story was a long one, so it was best to start with herself.  

She was born into a dual-income family with three sons and one daughter.

As the only girl in the family, she had two older brothers above her and a younger brother below, receiving boundless love and affection.  

But she fell in love with Lin Jiadong.  

Lin Jiadong came from a long line of wealthy merchants, but during the political upheaval, his family was labeled as capitalists. He was forced to sever ties with them and was sent to Qingshui Brigade for re-education through labor.  

Deeply in love with Lin Jiadong, she secretly followed him to Qingshui Brigade without telling her parents when she learned that he had been sent there.  

However, Lin Jiadong had no interest in her whatsoever. Instead, he got involved with another woman in the village—the female protagonist, Jiang Wanrou.  

Jealous and furious, she had wanted to force a relationship with Lin Jiadong, but instead, she ended up having a drunken night with the village tyrant, Li Chen.

That one night left her pregnant, and she was forced to marry him.  

She gave birth to twin sons, Da Bao and Er Bao, and later had a younger son, Xiao Bao.  

Married to a man she did not love, she remained indifferent to Li Chen and their children, even after having three of them.

She refused to work, cooked separately for herself, and ignored the children entirely, silently resisting the marriage.  

Li Chen had once been a domineering tyrant in the village, but after marrying her, he not only changed his ways but also became exceptionally diligent.

He took care of the children alone, working in the fields by day and coming home to cook, wash clothes, and tend to their private plot of land.  

He never minded her cold treatment. In fact, he even gave her living expenses every month. He could tolerate everything—except divorce.  

As for Old Li’s Family, they were even more hostile.

Since she had always claimed that she was forced into marriage after being taken advantage of by Li Chen, most people believed her—especially given Li Chen’s notorious past. Even Old Li’s Family did not doubt her words.

Her father-in-law and mother-in-law felt guilty toward her. Since she had given Old Li’s Family several sons and the family had later split up, they did not dare to interfere with her affairs.  

So, if it weren’t for Lin Jiadong stirring up trouble, she could have lived out her days just fine.  

But unfortunately, Lin Jiadong had a “change of heart.” He started approaching her frequently, showering her with kindness.

Even after getting into university, he did not despise her but instead spoke countless sweet promises of eternal love.  

Lin Jiadong had always been her weakness. The moment she saw him change his mind, how could she possibly resist?  

Without hesitation, she abandoned her husband and children and followed Lin Jiadong back to the city.  

It was only after returning that she realized Lin Jiadong had been lying to her all along.

He had only wanted to use her family’s connections to help his parents make a comeback. Meanwhile, he was still deeply entangled with Jiang Wanrou.  

To justify Lin Jiadong’s dependence on others, the original author had deliberately portrayed her as an arrogant and vicious woman after returning to the city.

In the end, Lin Jiadong “delivered justice on behalf of the heavens” and had her killed.  

At that point, her mission was complete, and she was free to choose her retirement world.  

But Shen Yiyi could not feel happiness no matter what.  

She thought about the fate of Li Chen and their three sons.

In the novel, after she abandoned them and returned to the city, Li Chen and the boys harbored deep hatred toward her.

When they received news of her death, they even held a banquet to celebrate.  

Of course, as the Main Villain and his little antagonists, they were not the type to let things slide so easily.

They were naturally not going to let Lin Jiadong off the hook.  

Later, Li Chen became a business tycoon and fought Lin Jiadong bitterly.

Meanwhile, their three sons continuously caused trouble for Lin Jiadong’s younger brother and son.

Due to Lin Jiadong’s overwhelming protagonist halo, Li Chen and his sons were eventually eliminated from the story.  

Although their times of departure differed, their endings were nothing like the scene she had just witnessed—where they had died or gone to prison avenging her.  

The discrepancy was too great.

Shen Yiyi immediately questioned the system.  

The system responded: “Because Li Chen loved you. His obsession with you was too deep, and he broke free from the constraints of the storyline. Your three sons, influenced by him, did the same.”  

Shen Yiyi was stunned, her eyes welling with tears.  

As a vicious supporting female character, her endings had always been miserable. No one had ever felt sorrow over her passing.  

Of course, she never cared—this was just a job, nothing more.  

But now, someone was telling her that there was a man who had loved her so deeply that he sacrificed everything for revenge.  

It would be a lie to say she was unmoved.  

Despite completing countless missions, this was the only one where she had married and had three children.  

Through the experience of being a wife and mother, she had developed genuine feelings for her husband, Li Chen, and the sons she had carried for ten months.  

They had given their lives for her. So why couldn’t she live once more for them?  

With that thought, determination flashed in Shen Yiyi’s eyes.

“Understood.”  

The mechanical voice rang out again.  

This was the privilege of a fast-travel worker. Once a mission was completed, no matter what request was made, the system had to fulfill it.
