“Unlock.”
“Unlock.”
Su Liqian swiftly drew two cards from her Star Moon Stone belt with her right hand—one red and one blue.
“Su Liqian is performing as usual, bringing out an A-level gear card from Mecha Storm and an A-level weapon card from Oracle’s Legacy!”
“Yi Xuan is not letting his guard down either. He quickly takes out an A-level gear card from Mecha Storm and an A-level weapon card from Shelter!”
Su Liqian’s setup was the same as before, with blue mecha armor and a longsword. On the opposite side, Yi Xuan’s mecha was also blue and white, but with an additional pair of mecha wings on his back.
This was the Illusion gear card from Mecha Storm used by Li Gai—the Illusion Wings of the Divine Wing, and the round weapon attached to his palm was the Infinity lamp from Shelter.
Yi Xuan had also maintained a perfect record up to this point, and every contestant reaching the finals was undoubtedly strong.
Su Liqian immediately pulled out an A-level function card from Oracle’s Legace—Swift Clouds Swordplay and after a green light merged with her sword, she took off in a swift, graceful movement.
Yi Xuan, having studied her previous match, was ready for her peculiar footwork. He activated the mecha wings on his back to boost his speed, creating a few meters of distance between them.
But he didn’t know enough about the card. Aside from a brief video, he had no other information. Yi Xuan could only stay vigilant, trying to keep at least two meters of distance.
This was the best method he had come up with after days of studying.
But a temporary setback didn’t mean Yi Xuan had no counter for Su Liqian. After all, getting this far wasn’t just luck.
“Flight.”
Yi Xuan issued a command to his mecha, and in the next second, his mecha wings stretched out and lifted him into the air.
Su Liqian’s footwork was powerful, but it could only be used on the ground. Seeing an opening, Yi Xuan opened his palm, and the round Infinity Lamp embedded in his palm had already charged fully. In an instant, a scorching beam of energy shot down from the sky toward Su Liqian.
Whoosh~
Su Liqian quickly activated her mecha’s acceleration mode and also used the Swift Clouds Swordplay to spin and dodge the attack.
“Ha… Ha…”
She felt a searing pain in her left arm. Looking down, she saw that the mecha suit on her upper arm had been burned through, and her skin underneath was scorched in a small patch.
Though the Infinity Lamp seemed to only fire one beam, its attack radius was enormous. In the sunlight, it was hard for opponents to see its full range and often got hit unknowingly.
Yi Xuan’s attacks continued. Forced to stay at a distance because of the Infinity Lamp’s large attack radius, Su Liqian had to dodge quickly while maintaining her speed to avoid being hit.
But even then, she took some damage.
The arena wasn’t large enough for her to keep dodging forever.
Since regular shields weren’t cutting it, she decided to try something else.
With a thought, Su Liqian pulled out a transparent card.
The next second, red light flashed, and the shape of the card began to take form.
“Is that… Journey to the West? After a long time, Su Liqian finally brings out a Journey to the West card again!”
“I still remember the last time Su Liqian used that gourd to capture Falxius. It’s such a rare treat to see a Journey to the West card again today!”
Everyone’s eyes were focused on Su Liqian’s hand, curious about what “weird and wonderful” thing would appear this time.
“A mirror?”
When the light faded, a circular mirror gently rested in Su Liqian’s hand.
The only thing unusual about the mirror was the intricate pattern on its back; otherwise, it seemed like an ordinary item.
A Demon-Repelling Mirror.
Su Liqian glanced at her weapon.
Although it was just a B-level card that seemed of little use in this battle, it would do the job.
Whoosh~
The attack from above didn’t stop. This time, Su Liqian didn’t dodge. Instead, she swung the mirror in front of her chest.
The mirror expanded instantly, shielding her entire body. The beam hit the mirror and was immediately reflected, shooting straight back toward Yi Xuan.
“Ah!”
Even though Yi Xuan had sensed something was wrong the moment the beam was fired, he didn’t manage to fully avoid the impact.
Yi Xuan was forced to land on the ground, with half of his mecha suit burned through.
This was no ordinary mirror.
Yi Xuan kept his gaze fixed on the weapon in Su Liqian’s hands, growing more cautious.
Usually, a mirror would be pierced by the Infinity Lamp’s beam, but this one reflected the light back.
It was his own carelessness.
It seemed that to win this match, he’d have to pull out that one card!
Yi Xuan steadied himself and pulled out a new card from his belt.
“Unlock!”
The card in his hand glowed with a rare purple light, and Su Liqian immediately went on high alert, staying ready for anything.
The purple card was a rare scene card, one seldom seen in the Star District competitions.
Most scene cards are used to simulate special environments in specific matches. Large-scale competitions often use scene cards to mimic various arenas.
These scene cards often consumed a lot of spiritual strength, and the larger and more complex the scenario, the more spiritual strength was required. Generally, a card master’s strength alone couldn’t support the use of an A-level card or higher, so these purple scene cards were rarely seen in card tournaments.
They usually appear in Star Realm tournaments.
And today, Su Liqian was about to experience her first scene card match.
The scene card in Yi Xuan’s hand was the B-level card from Misty Forest—the Mist Card.
Though just a basic weather simulation card, it would still consume a considerable amount of Yi Xuan’s spiritual strength.
When the purple light faded, dense fog began to fill the arena, soon enveloping the entire battlefield in an eerie sense of uncertainty.
Broadcast screens, equipped with special technology, could capture the players’ movements clearly despite the fog, but Su Liqian didn’t have that luxury.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh~
Yi Xuan’s Infinity Lamp attacks came once again, but Su Liqian couldn’t see her surroundings. Although she had the Demon-Repelling Mirror to counterattack, she couldn’t accurately judge the direction of the strikes in time and found herself in a deadlock.
The mecha’s detection system seemed to be disrupted by the mist, making it impossible to function normally.
The more troublesome part was that this Mist Card wasn’t a random attack card—it didn’t affect the user’s vision. Now, with Yi Xuan in the dark and Su Liqian exposed, he had the perfect opportunity to defeat her.
The enemy was hidden, and she was in the open. Attacks could come from any direction at any moment. Su Liqian’s mind raced, trying to find a way out.
The cards she had on hand didn’t seem to be able to clear the mist, so her only option now was to craft a new one.
Su Liqian quickly pulled out a shield card to buy herself some time and then drew another transparent card.
“Su Liqian has once again chosen to craft a card! What will she bring out this time?”
“Oh! It’s here!”
The commentator was glued to the broadcast screen. In the center of the screen, the girl tossed a transparent card into the air. In an instant, the card transformed from clear to a silver one.
The next moment, the card landed smoothly between Su Liqian’s fingers.
“Another card from Journey to the West! I can’t believe Su Liqian has drawn two of these in a row today!”
“And it’s an A-level weapon card! What kind of amazing weapon will it be?”
Su Liqian’s card crafting not only made the commentators excited but also stirred up the audience and livestream chat.
In the Sixth Star District, the names Su Liqian and Journey to the West alone were enough to capture everyone’s attention.
【Ahhh, it’s Journey to the West again! I’m really curious what she’s going to pull out this time!】
【Is this the same Illusion World that sucked in Falxius with the gourd?】
【I came here just for this…】
【Please, oh please, can we get the simulation sphere from the big shot? I want to see what this Illusion World is like too!】
【There’s not enough info to even guess what kind of world this is! What do we do? I’m so curious!】
【Su Liqian is really the dark horse of this round, just like Piaolian before her!】
【…】
Under the gaze of countless eyes, the card in Su Liqian’s hand slowly morphed into a giant fan.
This fan wasn’t like the ones used in Interstellar. The design on the fan was exquisite and luxurious. Su Liqian held the fan with both hands, and it grew bigger and bigger in the frame.
【??? Is that a fan?】
【Everything from this Illusion World seems so antique!】
【What’s she planning to do? Use the fan to blow away the mist?】
【Maybe the fan has other uses we don’t know about.】
【Wow, you guys are amazing, you even recognize that antique!】
【…】
As people speculated online, Su Liqian swung the fan, which was almost as tall as she was. A powerful gust of wind immediately erupted from it, ripping through the heavy mist and creating a gap.
Whoosh~ Whoosh~
The strong wind roared past, and with just one movement, it cleared all the mist that had covered the entire arena.
Yi Xuan’s position was quickly revealed.
Everything happened so fast that Yi Xuan didn’t even have time to fully process what was going on before the strong wind lifted him up.
“Ahhh!”
Bang!
The gust of wind, after clearing the mist, didn’t stop. It continued and blew Yi Xuan out of the arena.
For a moment, the whole place was in an uproar.
Even Su Liqian herself was stunned.
It seemed that this Banana Fan really did have the power to “move mountains and rivers.”
She had originally planned to use the same scene card as Yi Xuan’s, to turn the tables on him with his own strategy.
But now, it seemed she might not need to after all.
