Easy To Deceive
Easy To Deceive chapter 15

Late that night, Yu Nian lay back in his bed again, but for some reason, he couldn’t sleep this night, only falling asleep at four in the morning.

And two days later, it was Sunday afternoon.

Yu Nian took Qi Wang and leisurely went to Building 13 of Area A in Dinghe Garden, and rang the doorbell.

It was a detached villa. It was autumn now, and the smell of osmanthus in the garden was strong. There was also a wooden swing next to it, covered with osmanthus flowers.

Yu Nian stared at the swing for a while.

Qi Wang noticed and asked him, “What’s wrong?”

Yu Nian shook his head, “Nothing.”

Not long after, Zhang Yu came to open the door.

Seeing another person standing next to Yu Nian, he was slightly surprised.

Yu Nian wasn’t good at dealing with such situations. He greeted Zhang Yu and explained, stuttering, “Mr. Zhang, hello, I’m Yu Nian, this is my colleague Qi Wang, he… he had something to do with me later, so he came along the way to accompany me. Is that okay?”

Zhang Yu actually guessed what was going on.

It was the first time a child came to tutor at someone’s home, feeling a bit uneasy, so he needed a reliable person to accompany him.

That was also normal.

He just didn’t expect it would be the barista from the cafe who wasn’t easy to get along with.

He smiled at Yu Nian, “No problem, it’s fine,” then he said to Qi Wang, “Welcome.”

Qi Wang didn’t make any excuses. His way of coming over was indeed lacking in manners, but there was no other way. If he let Yu Nian, this naive kid, enter someone else’s house so casually, he wouldn’t feel at ease.

“Sorry to bother you,” he said to Zhang Yu, “Yu Nian is tutoring someone for the first time, feeling a bit nervous, so I just came with him, sit for a bit, and then I’ll leave. I hope it doesn’t cause you any trouble.”

Zhang Yu nodded understandingly and greeted, “It’s normal. If my nephew went to work at someone else’s house for the first time, I wouldn’t feel at ease either. Come on in.”

He stepped aside a bit.

Qi Wang followed in, and when they reached the door, he handed the box he was carrying to Zhang Yu.

“Bought some snacks on the way,” he said lightly, “It’s impolite to come uninvited, so I bought some tea snacks. I don’t know if they suit your taste.”

Zhang Yu was taken aback.

He subconsciously took it and smiled after a while, “I’ve always liked sweets, but my nephew doesn’t, so it might be for me. Thank you.”

While Qi Wang was also stooping to change his shoes, Zhang Yu discreetly assessed Qi Wang with a glance, then glanced at the bewildered Yu Nian beside him, and his lips curved into a slight smile.

Quite interesting, Zhang Yu thought.

Yu Nian soon met his student, named Zhang Yunyao.

Just like in the photo, he was a delicate young man, dressed in soft home clothes, with black hair neatly combed, a narrow and thin face, giving off a somewhat arrogant aura.

He scrutinized Yu Nian, showing a skeptical expression.

After hearing Zhang Yu’s introduction, he initially thought that Qi Wang was his “teacher,” but it turned out he was mistaken.

He curiously asked Yu Nian, “How old are you?”

Yu Nian touched his nose, “Eighteen.”

Zhang Yunyao’s eyes revealed doubt, he looked Yu Nian up and down, even taking a few steps closer.

For no other reason, Zhang Yunyao, sixteen years old, was almost the same height as Yu Nian, eighteen.

If anything, Zhang Yunyao was even about a centimeter taller than Yu Nian.

Yu Nian immediately felt a twinge of discomfort, pursing his lips, showing a frustrated expression.

He had been a pampered young master even more so than Zhang Yunyao since childhood, and couldn’t hide anything.

Seeing him like this, Zhang Yunyao smiled. Despite being younger than Yu Nian, he acted more mature than Yu Nian.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to doubt your age, my uncle didn’t tell me your age, I thought my tutor would be someone in their twenties.”

Zhang Yunyao sat down on the piano stool, opened the keys, turned to Yu Nian, with a faint smile, neither polite nor friendly, “Then, teach me, little teacher.”

Yu Nian went over obediently, not making a fuss anymore.

On the first day of class, he still wanted to leave a good impression on his student.

While Yu Nian played the piano with Zhang Yunyao, Zhang Yu chatted with Qi Wang.

Not only was Qi Wang here to keep an eye on Yu Nian, but Zhang Yu also wanted to see if his nephew and Yu Nian got along.

The two weren’t familiar, but fortunately, Zhang Yu had a mild temperament and had climbed the ranks in the workplace, so he was good at finding topics to talk about, casually discussing the weather and coffee, and the conversation could go on.

But after chatting for about half an hour, Qi Wang got up to say goodbye.

Zhang Yu looked surprised, “Are you leaving already?”

“Yes,” Qi Wang politely said, “I have something to attend to soon, so I won’t disturb you.”

After observing for half an hour and seeing no signs of Yu Nian encountering any danger, Qi Wang prepared to take his leave.

Although that piano-playing brat didn’t seem very likable, he also didn’t seem rebellious enough to cause trouble for his teacher.

Zhang Yu didn’t insist on keeping him either. He smiled and said, “Alright then, I’ll be going out myself later, so I won’t keep you.”

After pondering for a few seconds, Qi Wang walked behind Yu Nian and whispered softly, “I’m leaving first.”

Yu Nian immediately played a wrong note.

He looked up to see Qi Wang, for some reason, he didn’t want Qi Wang to leave.

But he also knew he had no reason to ask Qi Wang to stay, so he pursed his lips and said, “Okay.”

But soon, the next thing Qi Wang said made him happy again.

“When you finish work, call me, I’ll come pick you up on my way.”

Yu Nian was startled, then looked up, somewhat surprised.

Qi Wang seemed to sense his thoughts from just now, and his lips curved slightly downwards. He asked, “Don’t want me to? “

Yu Nian immediately shook his head, “I do.”

He watched Qi Wang leave, then slowly came back to his senses. When he turned around again, he was met with his student’s strange expression.

Zhang Yunyao raised an eyebrow and asked, “I was just wondering, who is that? Your brother? Why did he come to class with you, afraid I’d eat you?”

Zhang Yunyao’s question wasn’t very polite, but it wasn’t unpleasant either, and his tone had a hint of pride.

Yu Nian blinked his eyes, not knowing how to answer for a moment.

He accidentally bumped his elbow against the piano, emitting a few random notes.

After Qi Wang left, Zhang Yu also sat down next to Zhang Yunyao and Yu Nian, bringing over a fruit platter for both of them and unpacking the snacks Qi Wang had brought earlier.

The snacks were made by the restaurant, usually displayed on the counter for sale, with delicate and beautiful packaging and good ingredients. Customers often bought them as gifts.

Zhang Yu handed a cookie to Yu Nian, “You two rest for a while before practicing again.”

He peeled an orange for himself, split it in half, and handed one half to his nephew.

Hearing Zhang Yunyao’s question, he naturally continued, “That was Qi Wang just now, who works at the same restaurant as Xiao Yun. He came along to support him.”

He had told Zhang Yunyao before where Yu Nian came from.

But then he turned his head and smiled at Yu Nian, “But Qi Wang does indeed look a lot like your brother, thoughtful and considerate, afraid of disturbing you, he even brought a gift. But I actually don’t mind, there are usually just me and Yunyao at home, my sister is often away, so it’s lively with more people.”

He paused for a second, as if thinking of something, curiously asked, “You two aren’t really relatives, are you?”

Yu Nian, holding the round cookie in his hand, was a little absent-minded.

Actually, he realized it the moment Qi Wang took out the gift earlier.

Although he was naive and sweet, he occasionally accompanied his brother and sister to social events and had some insight, but after all, he was new to society and couldn’t think of so many details.

At home, he didn’t have to worry about anything, he was still young, didn’t bear any responsibilities, and most people were polite to him. Even if he made a mistake, they didn’t really mind.

But now he had left the Yu family.

He wasn’t the young master of the Yu family anymore.

Yet someone still quietly took care of him.

This kind of care was quiet and unobtrusive. It was like taking care of a stray cat that happened to shelter under one’s roof, casually holding up an umbrella for it.

Yu Nian couldn’t quite describe how he felt in his heart. He took a bite of the small cookie in his hand.

He smiled and said softly, “No, he’s just my… my friend.”

At least he could be considered a friend.

Yu Nian thought, at least in his heart, Qi Wang was a very reliable friend, someone who would repay a single helping hand with many acts of kindness.
