If Yu Nian were to say it himself, rolling in bed with Qi Wang was truly confusing.
A City had just experienced an autumn rain, the ground covered in fallen leaves, only slightly yellowing at the edges, the girls on the street still wearing light clothing, and his “THE ONE” advertisement displayed on the roadside screens.
He sat in the car, watching the aloof model in the advertisement, wearing the clothes he designed, like a prince high above, noble without any fireworks.
The “THE ONE” logo embroidered on the chest was specially made with gold thread, gleaming.
When he was interviewed by the media about the meaning of “THE ONE”, he casually said that he wanted to become a unique designer, but only he knew that this brand name was created when he was still with Qi Wang, doodling and writing on his notebook, leaving it there unconsciously.
Later, after they broke up, he shouldn’t have used such an ominous ex’s name.
But when he registered, he acted unconsciously and typed those few letters.
Yu Nian pressed his temples, perhaps that encounter at the banquet had left him thinking about Qi Wang these days.
Not a good sign.
Taking advantage of the driver’s journey, he took a brief nap in the car. That day he was going to participate in an exhibition in the neighboring city. After the exhibition, he had another gathering to attend, mingling with industry peers.
He never liked these occasions.
The weather was a bit gloomy again, and he listened absentmindedly to the gossip from the financial circle beside him.
But the people at the gathering were very concerned about his situation, often steering the conversation towards him.
Yu Nian understood.
After all, besides being the boss of “THE ONE,” his more prestigious identity was that of the young master of the Ke Yun Group. So wherever he went, he couldn’t escape the halo of his family, and everyone he met had to show him some respect.
It was all riding on the coattails of his siblings.
So he smiled politely and made some irrelevant comments.
Finally, after enduring the gathering, Yu Nian decided to stay at the hotel nearby for the night.
He had a bit to drink, not really drunk, but his steps were a bit unsteady.
The secretary only escorted him to the hotel, and he sent him away. Now he regretted it a bit, thinking he should have asked the secretary to buy some hangover medicine and bring him a cup of honey water.
But calling the hotel’s room service would work just as well.
Yu Nian tapped his room card on the door, making a heavy click as the wooden door swung open.
But the room was brightly lit, devoid of any tranquility.
Yu Nian keenly heard some movement inside.
He became alert, not immediately entering, but the commotion inside seemed to be getting louder.
Wouldn’t a five-star hotel have better security than this?
He placed a hand on his phone, ready to dial the emergency number.
But soon, he stopped.
The “thing” causing the commotion in the room revealed its true identity.
It turned out to be a young man, wearing a bathrobe with a dazed expression.
This person seemed to be in his early twenties, with a head full of small curls, big eyes like a deer, slim waist and long legs, very slender and fair-skinned, wrapped in a bathrobe, half-hidden and half-revealed, making people’s blood boil.
Seeing Yu Nian, he seemed flustered too, clumsily tightening his bathrobe.
But then he seemed to realize something was wrong, awkwardly loosening it again, and even pulling the bathrobe open a bit, looking at Yu Nian timidly.
Yu Nian: “…”
He had a premonition that something was wrong.
This reaction didn’t seem like that of a guest who had entered the wrong room.
But he could be fairly certain that this person wasn’t aggressive. Leaning against the door, he folded his arms and calmly asked, “Who are you? What are you doing in my room?”
This person seemed scared, unable to say his name, his face turning red with embarrassment.
Yu Nian sneered, took out his phone, and threatened him, “If you don’t say, I’ll call the police.”
“Eh?”
This person let out a low cry, took a few steps forward, looking like he was about to cry.
He looked at Yu Nian with a helpless expression, and muttered in a low voice, “I-I, I’m here because Mr. Huang asked me to come.”
He wanted to grab Yu Nian’s sleeve but dared not. However, from Yu Nian’s angle, he could see his slender collarbone, like the wings of a crane about to take flight.
Indeed, he was captivating.
Yu Nian chuckled, seeing through this person’s intentions as clear as a mirror in his heart.
Over the years, there had been no shortage of people wanting to send others to his bed.
Various small-time celebrities and internet celebrities had approached him, although his temper was increasingly volatile, he was tolerant of these tabloid rumors, always adopting an attitude of indifference.
So, in the realm of entertainment gossip, he was practically open to all comers.
Some who couldn’t get on the good side of his siblings turned their attention to him.
Anyway, although he might have some career accomplishments in the eyes of many, he was also seen as a playboy, indulging in the most extravagant circles, and it was rare to find someone clean among them.
Sending a beauty to warm the bed was perhaps not something worth getting angry about.
Yu Nian looked at the timid beauty in front of him and thought that these people hadn’t even figured out his preferences; their intelligence work was truly in shambles.
Recalling, he said, “Mr. Huang, which… ah, I know now. It’s from YiXing Technology, right?”
At the gathering just now, this person had been particularly enthusiastic towards him, even not allowing him to refuse, saying that he had already arranged a hotel for him and inviting him to play golf together tomorrow.
Now thinking about it, it was as clear as day what his intentions were.
It seemed like he wanted to establish a connection with his sister and become a supplier for Kí Yun.
Yu Nian felt a wave of disgust.
He glanced at the pretty young man in front of him and turned his head slightly towards the door.
“I don’t need you here, go out.”
But the beauty suddenly panicked, grabbing his sleeve, looking like he was about to cry.
“I, I will satisfy you, Mr. Yu…” this person wasn’t good at selling himself, hesitantly saying, “Mr. Yu, why don’t you give it a try?”
Yu Nian almost laughed out loud.
If others heard this, his already precarious reputation would only worsen.
“You, get out…”
He reached out to push.
But as if to confirm that his reputation was about to deteriorate further, in the moment he moved, Yu Nian heard the sound of a doorknob turning in the quiet corridor.
A guest from the neighboring room stepped out.
Yu Nian was speechless for a moment.
There were only two suites on the top floor. The person next door might be someone he had met at the dinner just now.
Then, he would be in a real mess.
But when he raised his head, his previously indifferent expression immediately turned frosty.
A tall and erect figure walked out of the neighboring room, handsome and imposing, extremely familiar.
It was his ex-lover, Qi Wang.
In an instant, only a few words flashed through Yu Nian’s mind—ghost from the past.
