Easy To Deceive
Easy To Deceive chapter 54

Yu Nian groaned as he fell onto the bed.

He had lit some incense in his room.

It was a very faint scent of osmanthus.

This fragrance was lingering and charming, as gentle as the eyes of lovers flowing with love, but it was gradually fading away, like a flower pressed between the pages of a book, slowly drying up, leaving only a faint lingering aroma.

Qi Wang lowered his head to look at the person in his arms.

After eight years, Yu Nian was finally in his embrace again. Qi Wang kissed Yu Nian’s forehead, and his lips were trembling slightly.

Yu Nian’s fingers gently tugged at Qi Wang’s shirt.

He gazed at Qi Wang with a faint look in his eyes.

He looked too pale and thin, wearing a deep blue silk robe. His wrists exposed from the cuffs were flawless.

He was beautiful, indeed, but in this dim and gloomy room, amidst the gorgeous and decadent fragrance, when he raised his head, his gaze was hazy, like a glamorous ghost emerging from the water.

He teasingly asked Qi Wang, “Have you had any lovers outside these years?”

Qi Wang shook his head.

He removed Yu Nian’s hand from his shirt.

Yu Nian clicked his tongue lightly.

“That’s terrible,” he seemed troubled, but there was a hint of frivolity in his voice, “If your skills have deteriorated, I might have to return you.”

Qi Wang didn’t argue.

He just pinched Yu Nian’s chin and kissed him again.

.

This tenderness lasted until nightfall.

Yu Nian soon discovered that Qi Wang’s skills seemed to have not deteriorated at all.

After the initial awkwardness, he felt like a kite swaying in the rain, unable to land no matter what.

In the middle, Qi Wang held him and fed him some takeaway, easy-to-digest porridge.

But not long after, when he had regained some strength, he was picked up again.

By the end, Yu Nian could hardly remember his own surname.

He originally wanted to drive Qi Wang away. Their relationship wasn’t suitable for spending a night under the same roof.

But he was too tired. He fell into a dim slumber in Qi Wang’s arms, unable to lift his eyelids, only reluctantly held by Qi Wang.

Once he fell asleep, his cold and aloof demeanor softened a bit. His eyes were closed tightly, long eyelashes covering them, with a hint of innocence from his youth.

Qi Wang gently pushed aside his damp hair.

After experiencing such an eventful day, he should have been the one with more physical exhaustion, but he couldn’t sleep at all.

Because Yu Nian was asleep, he took the opportunity to survey the room.

He knew quite a few people in A City. Through casual inquiries, he had heard a lot about Yu Nian.

The proud young master of the Yu family, commanding winds and rains, saying he was the apple of his family’s eye wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

In recent years, Pei Zhao and Yu Xinli seemed to have become more indulgent towards him.

Yu Nian’s design company initially operated at a loss, not considering profitability at all, just serving Yu Nian’s creativity and ideas.

Yu Xinli didn’t even blink, continuously pouring money into it.

This luxury apartment located in the center of A City was also specially purchased by Yu Xinli as one of the places for his younger brother to rest occasionally.

Yu Nian seemed to lack nothing, even among the circle of wealthy heirs, he was enviable. No pressure, and well-loved by his family.

But Qi Wang now had one arm around him and the other hand gently picking up a bottle of medicine from the bedside.

Diazepam tablets.

Its main function is to sedate, reduce anxiety, and can also relieve sleep disorders.

Seeing the situation of the bottle, it had already been consumed quite a bit.

Qi Wang had taken quite a few medications himself, so he recognized it at a glance.

At the moment he saw it clearly, he felt a sudden chill all over.

Yu Nian now lay quietly in his arms, his black hair falling on his shoulders, only half of his face visible.

He lowered his head, feeling as if time had been frozen in the old house eight years ago, never moving forward.

When he left back then, he was only twenty years old, and there were many things he couldn’t see through.

Stubborn and self-righteous, he thought Yu Nian would have a broader world after he left.

But when he received that call from Song Yunchun, hearing her say that Yu Nian had come looking for him.

A possibility exploded in his mind like thunder.

He thought that after he left, Yu Nian would soon start a new life.

But if Yu Nian had been looking for him all these years.

If Yu Nian had been searching for him all these years.

Then what was he doing?

Why did he leave?

After going round and round, he seemed to have made the most wrong decision, dragging both his and Yu Nian’s lives into a quagmire.

This fact was even more despairing than the day he broke up with Yu Nian all those years ago.

Like an extremely absurd joke, every word contained a hidden edge, slicing through every inch of his nerves.

.

Yu Nian slept until the next morning.

He lazily leaned against the headboard, a blue silk quilt covering his body, his white shoulders dazzling, his long neck, faintly visible in peach blossom color.

His hair had grown quite a bit since his youth, back then he could only tie it into a small bun, now it reached his shoulders.

It was strange that his hair color used to be brown, but over the years, it gradually darkened, and now it was completely black, making him even more cold and clear in his eyebrows.

Regarding the fact that Qi Wang had spent the night with him, Yu Nian’s mood was obviously bad.

But since he fell asleep himself, he couldn’t blame Qi Wang for it.

He reached out from under the quilt, took the lighter and cigarette from the bedside table, and kicked Qi Wang with his foot, his voice hoarse, “Go and open the window.”

Qi Wang immediately got up and pushed open the bedroom window halfway. It was only afternoon outside, but because it was overcast, the sky was dark.

Turning around, he saw that Yu Nian was already sitting up, with a lit cigarette in his hand.

Yu Nian’s lips were very red, his white teeth lightly biting the cigarette, his fingers slender and beautiful, with a hint of pink at the joints.

He hadn’t done anything, just lazily leaning against the headboard like this, also vividly interpreting charm in all its forms.

He raised an eyebrow at Qi Wang and asked, “Shouldn’t you be leaving? I only asked you to come for a bit, I didn’t intend for you to stay overnight.”

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly, and he added, “I usually don’t keep people around; yesterday was purely accidental.”

Qi Wang had already dressed, slightly wrinkled, but it didn’t affect his handsome appearance.

He sat down beside Yu Nian and whispered, “You should smoke less too, it’s not good for your health. You used to tell me that.”

So he quit smoking later on.

But unexpectedly, Yu Nian started smoking.

Yu Nian’s gaze was impatient. “What’s it to you?”

Qi Wang knew he couldn’t control it.

Anything he said now would be overstepping boundaries.

He lowered his head, grabbed Yu Nian’s wrist, and gently rubbed the inside.

He asked, “Can I come back next time?”

Yu Nian remained silent for a long time.

For a moment, he wanted to say no.

He wanted to say that our past is over, even if we had a private affair, it had long disappeared over the past eight years.

Sharing a bed together this time was just a moment of weakness, so how could there be a next time?

But when he met Qi Wang’s eyes, somehow, he remembered many years ago when he and Qi Wang first woke up together. Qi Wang was rarely blushful and awkward, yet still gently kissed his forehead.

He was silent for a moment and said, “let’s see how you perform.”

This chapter explains Qi Wang’s current state of mind. He thought leaving Yu Nian would make Yu Nian better.

But that wasn’t the case.

So he regretted it.

Back then, he was only twenty years old, even though he was more mature than his peers, he was far from as wise and calm as he is now. He couldn’t predict the future.

If he had known that Yu Nian would come back to find him later, if he had known that Yu Nian would suffer after leaving him, maybe he wouldn’t have left at all.

But unfortunately, there are no ifs.

They were both so young and unfortunately became victims of society’s indoctrination.
