Chapter 2: I Am Not Your Daddy
“Little sister, please wait here for a moment. Big Sister needs to make a call…”
Even though it seemed highly likely that she was President Ou’s daughter, this wasn’t something the front desk receptionist could decide on her own. It was better to report it first.
As a mere front desk receptionist, she certainly couldn’t call the president directly. Instead, she dialed the reception desk on the 66th floor.
“Hello, 66th-floor reception!”
A crisp, professional voice answered from the other end.
“Hello, Merry, this is Xiao Wu from the first-floor front desk. Could you please transfer me to Executive Assistant Su? I have something important to discuss with him.”
“Alright, please hold on…”
Executive Assistant Su, full name Su Jianfeng, was the personal assistant to Ou Zichen, the president of Ou Corporation. He was responsible for handling both work and personal matters for Ou Zichen. If there was anything urgent, he was the one to go to.
A moment later, Su Jianfeng arrived at the reception desk and picked up the phone. His deep voice came through the receiver.
“Hello, this is Su Jianfeng.”
“Hello, Executive Assistant Su, this is Xiao Wu from the first-floor reception. It’s like this…”
Xiao Wu briefly explained the situation about the little girl and then waited in silence for his response.
The president’s daughter?
Su Jianfeng had worked for the president for five years, and he could say that he knew him inside and out. First, he was not married. Second, he had no girlfriend. He was also not the type of person who fooled around outside.
Not long ago, the elderly matriarch of the Ou family had introduced him to a blind date. The two of them seemed to get along quite well, but their relationship had not yet progressed that far. It was even more impossible for him to have such a big child!
So, this little girl could not possibly be the president’s daughter!
But why did she claim to be Ou Zichen’s daughter?
Su Jianfeng could not figure it out. However, if he wanted an answer, he only had to ask the little girl!
Xiao Wu had been waiting for Su Jianfeng’s response, but after a long silence, he still had not spoken. Feeling anxious, she asked: “Executive Assistant Su, are you still there?”
“Bring her up!”
After hanging up the phone, Xiao Wu turned to the little girl and said: “Little sister, Big Sister will now take you up to the 66th floor to find an uncle with the surname Su. He will take you to find Daddy!”
The way Xiao Wu said this showed that she had already accepted the little girl as the president’s daughter. After all, the two of them looked like they had been carved from the same mold. If someone told her they were not related at all, she would never believe it!
When the little girl heard that she could go find Daddy, she smiled happily. Deep dimples appeared on both sides of her cheeks, and in her soft, childlike voice, she thanked Xiao Wu: “Thank you, Big Sister…”
Oh my! The little girl’s smile was too beautiful and too adorable. It felt like her smile could heal anything. All of a sudden, Xiao Wu found herself envying the president. How could he be so lucky to have such a beautiful daughter?
“You’re welcome. Let’s go!”
Xiao Wu held the little girl’s hand, while Tangyuan trotted behind them. They took the elevator straight to the 66th floor.
Once they arrived, Xiao Wu handed the little girl over to Su Jianfeng before leaving.
The moment Su Jianfeng saw the little girl, he was completely stunned! Wasn’t this a miniature version of the president?
He immediately started questioning his previous statement—the little girl couldn’t possibly be the president’s daughter!
Well, now he had been completely slapped in the face by reality!
The president was about to become a father out of nowhere. When he saw this little girl in a moment, would he be surprised or utterly shocked?
Su Jianfeng led the little girl to the president’s office and knocked on the door. A voice quickly responded from inside.
“Come in!”
Pushing the door open, the little girl saw a large, spacious office. In front of the massive floor-to-ceiling window stood an extravagant and luxurious desk. Behind it, Ou Zichen sat like a king, working diligently. The soft sunlight shone on his strikingly handsome face.
Finally, she was seeing her real Daddy in person! The excitement on the little girl’s face was impossible to hide!
After stepping inside, Su Jianfeng respectfully said: “President, someone is here to see you!”
“Who?” Ou Zichen, who had been focused on his documents, lifted his head slightly at Su Jianfeng’s words and uttered a single word.
“She is—” Before Su Jianfeng could finish his sentence, a crisp and childish voice interrupted him.
“Daddy, it’s me! I came to find you!”
Daddy?
Hearing this unfamiliar address, Ou Zichen slowly raised his head and saw a cute and adorable little girl standing beside Su Jianfeng, along with a plump, round dog.
His face was filled with confusion.
Had she just called him Daddy?
“Little girl, were you talking to me?” Ou Zichen pointed at himself, directing the question at the small child.
Daddy, is he stupid? Besides him, who else could she be talking to?
She nodded seriously and firmly. “Yes, Daddy, I was calling you just now. You are my Daddy—my real, biological Daddy…”
The last few words—“biological Daddy”—were deliberately drawn out by the little girl, afraid that Ou Zichen wouldn’t hear them clearly.
Su Jianfeng, standing nearby, showed little reaction to the word “biological.” From the moment he saw the little girl, he already knew this was the case. But when did the president have a child? Didn’t he not even have a girlfriend?
He had always prided himself on knowing Ou Zichen inside and out, yet at this moment, he felt utterly defeated. It seemed he didn’t know him as well as he thought!
Ou Zichen abruptly stood up from his chair, staring in disbelief at the little girl before him. His tone was serious as he said: “Little girl, you can eat whatever you want, but you can’t say whatever you want. Do you understand?”
What kind of joke was this? His biological child? He was clearly a virgin! He had never touched any woman, let alone donated sperm. How could she possibly be his child? Was she born from a rock or something?
And if she really did come from a rock, that would have even less to do with him!
“I’m not lying. You really are my Daddy! If you don’t believe me, ask Tangyuan—it can testify for me!” The little girl pointed at the Alaskan Malamute beside her.
“Woof woof…” Hearing its little owner’s words, Tangyuan immediately stood up to speak on her behalf.
Unfortunately, no one could understand what it was saying—except for the little girl.
Hearing her words, Su Jianfeng pursed his lips, trying hard not to laugh. This little girl was too funny! What kind of logic was this? Asking a dog to testify for her—who would believe that?
Ou Zichen was also torn between amusement and frustration. But one thing he was absolutely sure of—he was definitely not her biological Daddy.
President Ou, you’d better not be so sure about that… or you might be in for a rude awakening soon!
He walked up to the little girl, crouched down to meet her gaze, and patiently said: “Little girl, did you lose your real Daddy? Is that why you’re saying I’m your Daddy? If you really want to find him, Uncle can help you…”
Ou Zichen tried to tempt her, wanting to see how she would react.
Hearing his words, the little girl became furious. She pouted stubbornly and said: “I don’t need your help! I already found my Daddy, and that person is you!”
Ou Zichen felt a headache coming on. He had already offered to help her, so why was she still clinging to him?
Frustrated and exasperated, he suddenly shouted at the little girl: “I told you, I am NOT your Daddy!”
Startled by his roar, the little girl burst into tears, crying loudly while still insisting between sobs: “You are, you are! You are my Daddy!”
“Woof woof… woof woof!”
Tangyuan immediately barked furiously at Ou Zichen, knowing that he had made its little owner cry.
It was her loyal companion—bullying its little owner was the same as bullying it. How could it stand idly by?
“Tangyuan, you’re not allowed to be fierce to my Daddy!”
Hearing his little owner’s words, Tangyuan instantly shut its mouth, obediently lying down on the floor without moving.
What a considerate little sweetheart! Su Jianfeng silently sighed in his heart. President, why won’t you just admit it?
At that moment, Ou Zilong walked in!
“I just heard a dog barking. Why is there a dog in the office?”
“Second Young Master!” Su Jianfeng greeted him.
Hearing the voice, the little girl turned around and saw a man who looked quite similar to Ou Zichen—equally handsome!
Naturally, Ou Zilong also noticed the little girl. The moment he saw her, she inexplicably seemed familiar. Confused, he asked: “Brother, who is she?”
Since he looked similar to Ou Zichen and called him ‘brother,’ then wouldn’t that make him her Second Uncle?
The clever little girl quickly pieced the relationship together. She smiled sweetly at Ou Zilong and called out: “Second Uncle! I’m your brother’s daughter, so that means I’m also your niece!”
