Chapter 33: Sun Huayang Leaves the Hospital

On May 8th, it was the day Sun Huayang was discharged from the hospital. Zhao Jiaying took a day off from school because she wanted to personally pick up her brother Huayang.

That morning, she woke up early.

Ou Zichen had to go to work, so naturally, he wouldn’t accompany her. In the end, it was Lin Zhenzhu who went with her to the hospital, as she also wanted to meet the brother that Zhao Jiaying often mentioned.

By the time Zhao Jiaying and Lin Zhenzhu arrived at the hospital, Sun Dahai and Yang Xiuhua were already in the hospital room, helping Sun Huayang pack his belongings.

Since his son was getting discharged that day, Sun Dahai had specifically taken a day off work to pick him up.

As soon as Zhao Jiaying saw Sun Huayang, she ran straight to him and hugged him, her voice soft and sweet as she said: “Brother Huayang, this is great! You can finally leave the hospital. Yingbao missed you so much!”

Sun Huayang was ten years old that year, standing at a height of 1.35 meters. Zhao Jiaying only reached his shoulder.

Sun Huayang gently patted Zhao Jiaying’s head and said warmly: “Yingbao, I am completely recovered now. I won’t have to stay in the hospital anymore. I can play with Yingbao from now on!”

“Mm!”

Zhao Jiaying held Sun Huayang’s hand and led him to Lin Zhenzhu, introducing him.

“Brother Huayang, this is Yingbao’s Great-grandma!”

Sun Huayang gave a slight bow to Lin Zhenzhu and greeted her politely.

“Hello, Great-grandma. My name is Sun Huayang. Thank you for taking care of Yingbao and our family!”

During his hospital stay, Yang Xiuhua had told him about everything that had happened recently. He knew that the Ou family had been a great benefactor to them. So upon seeing Lin Zhenzhu, he sensibly expressed his gratitude.

“Good, good! What a well-mannered child!”

Lin Zhenzhu looked at the frail Sun Huayang and felt a twinge of heartache. Such a young child had suffered so much from illness. Thankfully, he had pulled through. She clasped her hands together in prayer and muttered: “Amitabha, may Buddha have mercy.”

She then turned to Yang Xiuhua and said: “Xiuhua, the child is too thin. After he is discharged, you must make sure he gets proper nourishment. I will have someone send over some supplements to help with his recovery. Don’t refuse, alright? This is just a little gesture from me as a grandmother!”

Knowing that Yang Xiuhua was always polite and hesitant to accept help, she had to take a firm stance.

Lin Zhenzhu had already spoken, so how could Yang Xiuhua refuse? She could only nod and say: “Then thank you, Grandma Zhenzhu!”  

Sun Dahai also stepped forward and gave Lin Zhenzhu a deep bow, expressing his gratitude. “Madam, thank you. Thank you for giving me such a great opportunity. Our family can never repay the kindness your family has shown us.”  

Sun Dahai had always wanted to personally thank the Ou family, but he never had the chance.  

Now that he finally met Lin Zhenzhu, he naturally had to express his appreciation in person.  

“You’re too polite.” Lin Zhenzhu said with a smile. “Since you are Yingbao’s family, that makes you part of the Ou family as well. We are one family, so there’s no need to be so formal! If you keep acting this way, it will seem like you don’t see us as your own! As for your job, I heard from Jianfeng that you’ve been working extremely hard and managing the food factory in an orderly manner. The performance has improved by several points. Speaking of this, I should be the one thanking you!”  

“Madam, you flatter me. This is all my duty. The only reason I have this success is because of the opportunity you and President Ou gave me.”  

Ever since Sun Dahai took over the food factory, he had handled everything personally. In just a short time, he had thoroughly familiarized himself with all aspects of the business. He then made adjustments based on the actual conditions, leading to an increase in the factory’s profits by several percentage points.  

Ou Zichen was also very satisfied with his work. As expected of someone Zhao Jiaying trusted, he had not let anyone down.  

Sun Dahai was also particularly kind to the factory employees. He never yelled at them, so everyone respected him and willingly followed his leadership.  

Once the hospital discharge procedures were completed, Zhao Jiaying and Lin Zhenzhu accompanied Yang Xiuhua and the others to visit their new home, where they also had a meal together.  

During the meal, Lin Zhenzhu remembered Sun Huayang’s schooling and asked Yang Xiuhua: “Xiuhua, have you arranged Huayang’s schooling? If you need any help, just let me know. Grandma will do everything she can to assist!”  

“Thank you, Grandma Zhenzhu. We’ve already found a school. It’s the Second Primary School near our neighborhood. It’s close to home, so it will be convenient for Huayang to go to and from school on his own.”  

After moving here, Yang Xiuhua had already gone to the school to inquire about admission and had explained Sun Huayang’s situation in detail. The school, after understanding everything, agreed to enroll him and even processed his admission paperwork in advance. Once he was discharged from the hospital, he could start attending right away.  

“Good, good! Since you’ve settled the school issue, I’m relieved!”  

After the meal, Zhao Jiaying played with Sun Huayang for a while before heading home. Since he had just been discharged, he needed plenty of rest and couldn’t overexert himself.  

Before leaving, Zhao Jiaying, looking like a little adult, earnestly reminded Sun Huayang: “Brother Huayang, you must take good care of your health. If you feel unwell, you have to tell Auntie right away, okay?”  

“Don’t worry, Yingbao. I understand. You take care of yourself too!”  

That day was the first day of Brother Qiang’s operation. Since Zhao Jiaying had taken the day off, his men had been watching the school entrance the entire day but had not seen any sign of her.

The subordinate, Little Brother, said: “Brother Qiang, do you think this Young Miss Yang gave us the wrong information? We’ve been waiting an entire day, but we haven’t seen that little girl at all. Should we call Young Miss Yang and ask her?”  

“No rush. Today is just the first day. Maybe the little girl just didn’t come today. Let’s observe for a few more days before making any decisions.”  

Those who accomplished great things avoided impatience and agitation.  

Little Brother asked: “So what do we do now? Keep watching?”  

Brother Qiang said: “Let’s head back for now. We’ll come again tomorrow!”  

The next day, they waited the entire day again. Finally, at the end of the school day, they spotted Zhao Jiaying.  

However, before they could take any action, she was picked up by Ou Zilong. Brother Qiang and his men had no choice but to follow in their small van.  

But Ou Zilong was driving a high-performance Maybach sports car. How could their beat-up van possibly keep up? Before long, they lost track of them and naturally had no idea that Zhao Jiaying had been taken to Ou Corporation.  

This continued for several days. Forget about grabbing her—they couldn’t even get close enough to touch a single strand of her hair.  

Originally, they had planned to sneak into the school to take her, but St. Petersburg Primary School was not an easy place to infiltrate. Even the cleaning staff had to undergo strict security checks every day just to enter.  

So the plan to sneak inside was clearly out of the question.  

Given the current situation, they had no choice but to wait for an opportunity.  

During this time, Yang Xiaoyun urged them multiple times, asking why they still hadn’t completed the task. Brother Qiang patiently explained that this wasn’t something they could rush—it required waiting for the right moment, or else things could go wrong.  

Brother Qiang and his men weren’t fools. Without absolute certainty, how could they act recklessly? This was a matter of murder, not doing a good deed. They had no intention of taking the money only to end up dead.
