Chapter 6: Little Golden Great-Grandchild  

Half an hour later, the car drove into the Ou Family Estate!  

“Yingbao, we’re home!” Ou Zilong told her.  

By this time, the sky had already darkened, and the streetlights on both sides of the road illuminated the surroundings. Zhao Jiaying looked out through the car window. Although it was too dark to see clearly, she could tell that this place was enormous.  

The Ou Family Estate covered an area of 1,000 acres, with the villa situated at the very center of the estate. Behind the villa, in the north, was a large man-made rockery. To the south was the grand main entrance, leading to a wide road that stretched directly to the villa. In front of the villa was a vast circular fountain. To the west lay an extensive orchard filled with various fruit trees, and not far from it, a large lotus pond. To the east was a lush green lawn, along with a swimming pool and a flower house.  

The car came to a stop beside the fountain!  

As soon as Zhao Jiaying got out of the car, she was stunned by the sight of the villa. Her small mouth formed an “O” shape in astonishment.  

“Second Uncle, is this a castle?”  

She asked this because the grand villa before her looked exactly like the castles she had seen in fairy tales—majestic and magnificent.  

Ou Zilong chuckled and said indulgently: “Yes, this is a castle. And from now on, Yingbao will be the little princess of this place!”  

The two brothers led Zhao Jiaying and Tangyuan into the house.  

Inside, Grandma Lin Zhenzhu was sitting in the living room, wearing reading glasses while flipping through a magazine. Every now and then, she let out a cheerful laugh, a sound that Ou Zichen and the others could already hear from the doorway.  

“Grandma, we’re back!”  

“Grandma!”  

Hearing their voices, Lin Zhenzhu put down the magazine, took off her reading glasses, and looked at them. However, when she saw Zhao Jiaying, she was completely stunned. She had already thought the girl looked very much like Ou Zichen when she saw the photo that afternoon. But now, seeing her in person—it was as if she had been carved from the same mold.  

“So, you are Yingbao! Come here and let Great-grandma take a good look at you!”  

Ou Zilong gently nudged her. “Great-grandma is calling you, go on!”  

Zhao Jiaying took small steps forward and sweetly greeted: “Hello, Great-grandma!”  

“Good, good, good! What a well-mannered child. From now on, you are the little Young Miss of the Ou family, my little golden great-grandchild!”  

Lin Zhenzhu gazed at little Yingbao, her heart overflowing with joy!  

“Grandma, the paternity test results aren’t out yet. She might not be—” She might not be your little golden great-grandchild, Ou Zichen tried to remind her.  

“Nonsense! This child looks exactly like you. How could she not be? There’s no need to wait for any paternity test. I’m announcing it right now—Yingbao, from this moment on, is the little Young Miss of the Ou family, my little golden great-grandchild. Did you all hear that clearly?”  

The “you all” included not only Ou Zichen and Ou Zilong but also the butler and servants present in the room.

The butler and servants all responded in unison: “Yes, Madam!”  

“Grandma…” Ou Zichen was beginning to lose his patience.  

“What? Are you questioning my decision?”  

“Grandson… Grandson wouldn’t dare…” In the end, Ou Zichen had no choice but to back down. In front of the imposing Lin Zhenzhu, he instantly deflated.  

Ou Zilong: “…” Grandma is still the most formidable one. The moment she stepped in, his older brother completely lost the battle. It seemed that life was going to be quite difficult for his brother from now on.  

Lin Zhenzhu, the matriarch of the Ou family, was seventy-six years old this year. Despite her current carefree demeanor—spending her days tending flowers, playing cards, and reading magazines or watching movies—she was, without a doubt, a true powerhouse. After the unfortunate passing of her son and daughter-in-law, she had single-handedly held the family together. Not only did she manage the group’s business affairs, but she also raised her two young grandsons, balancing everything with ease.  

In the business world, she was known for her decisiveness and sharp vision, earning her the title of Binhcheng’s recognized female powerhouse. At home, her two grandsons respected and adored her, never daring to go against her word.  

As the eldest grandson of the Ou family, Ou Zichen had been exceptionally intelligent since childhood, excelling at everything he learned. Not wanting his grandmother to bear too much hardship, he took over the family business at the age of twenty, allowing Lin Zhenzhu to retire.  

Yet, even though she was no longer the company’s president, her authoritative presence remained. Her two grandsons still followed her every command without question.  

Hearing everyone acknowledge her words, Lin Zhenzhu nodded in satisfaction, withdrawing her sharp gaze. Her demeanor softened as she turned to Zhao Jiaying.  

“Yingbao, you don’t need to worry. With Great-grandma here, your Daddy won’t dare refuse to acknowledge you. From now on, stay here and live comfortably as our little princess, okay?”  

Zhao Jiaying was highly perceptive. From what had just transpired, she could tell that Lin Zhenzhu held the highest status in this household—even Ou Zichen and Ou Zilong had to be cautious around her. If she could win Lin Zhenzhu’s favor, then it would be much easier for Mommy to become part of the family in the future.  

“Mm! Thank you, Great-grandma! Great-grandma is not only young and beautiful but also so kind to Yingbao. Yingbao likes Great-grandma the most!”  

Lin Zhenzhu was so delighted by Zhao Jiaying’s words that her face beamed with joy.  

Ou Zichen cast a disdainful glance at Zhao Jiaying. This little bootlicker! She was incredibly skilled at flattery—no wonder Grandma liked her so much.  

Then, he shot a resentful look at Ou Zilong. This is all his fault!  

Sensing his older brother’s resentment, Ou Zilong quickly moved toward Grandma’s side. His brother was too scary!  

Meanwhile, Yingbao called Tangyuan over and introduced it to her Great-grandma.  

“Tangyuan, come here. This is my Great-grandma. From now on, she’s your Great-grandma too, understand?”  

“Woof woof…” Tangyuan responded to its little owner.  

“Great-grandma, this is my best companion. Its name is Tangyuan, and it’s very well-behaved. It can also keep Great-grandma company and play with you!” Zhao Jiaying said in her sweet, childish voice.  

“Good, good, good… With you two around, Great-grandma will definitely be very happy!”  

Ever since her son and daughter-in-law passed away, Lin Zhenzhu had been constantly busy—handling both work and raising her grandsons. It had been a long time since she had felt this happy.

Seeing the joyful smile on his grandmother’s face, Ou Zichen finally felt relieved. Perhaps bringing Yingbao home had been the right decision. Grandma had worked hard all her life, and her greatest wish now was to meet her little great-grandchild. In that sense, this could be considered fulfilling her wish.  

Suddenly, Lin Zhenzhu thought of something—Yingbao’s mother!  

“Yingbao, where is your Mommy?”  

“Mommy went abroad for work. During this time, Auntie from the neighbor’s house has been taking care of me!”  

Zhao Jiaying didn’t say much, only mentioning that her mother had left for work.  

“How could your Mommy be so heartless, leaving such a young child to be cared for by someone else!”  

When Zhao Jiaying heard Lin Zhenzhu’s slightly displeased tone, she immediately sensed that her Mommy might be leaving a bad impression on Great-grandma. Feeling both anxious and wronged, she quickly explained.  

“Great-grandma, please don’t say that about Mommy! Mommy is a very skilled doctor. She went abroad to treat sick children. Those children are really pitiful. Their home is very poor, and they often don’t even have enough food to eat. When they get sick, they can’t afford treatment. Mommy sacrificed her time with Yingbao to help those children!”  

It seemed she had misunderstood. Lin Zhenzhu hadn’t expected Yingbao’s mother to be such a remarkable person. She realized she had spoken too harshly—a mother was always the best in a child’s eyes—and saying anything bad about her in front of Yingbao might cause the little girl to resent her. She quickly apologized.  

“Yingbao, I’m sorry. Great-grandma didn’t know your Mommy was such a great doctor. Great-grandma won’t say anything bad about her again, okay? You won’t be mad at Great-grandma, right?”  

Upon hearing Yingbao’s words, both Ou Zichen and Ou Zilong felt a deep sense of admiration. They became even more curious to meet her mother in person.  

“Those who don’t know are not at fault. Great-grandma didn’t know about Mommy’s situation earlier, so I won’t be mad at you…”  

As she finished speaking, she gave Lin Zhenzhu a sweet smile, revealing two deep dimples that instantly melted her heart!  

Lin Zhenzhu gently patted Zhao Jiaying’s head and said: “Yingbao, you must be hungry. Great-grandma had them prepare lots of delicious food. Let’s go eat!”  

“Mm!”  

Hand in hand, the elderly woman and the little girl walked toward the dining room. Seeing this, Ou Zilong followed, and after a moment of hesitation, Ou Zichen also stepped forward.
