Chapter 29: Extra 3
Xiao He, who had been calm until now, suddenly froze.
His ears hadn’t turned red yet.
Zhang Rui knew everything. His handsome face suddenly darkened. Even in a low voice, he sounded like he was gritting his teeth: “Just wait for me!”
Xiao He lowered his head in shame and didn’t dare to speak.
The train station was crowded and noisy, and people one meter in front of them couldn’t hear their conversation. Tian Jiao walked for a while and noticed they were getting slower. She turned back and saw one person with his head down and the other glaring, looking like he was about to explode with anger.
Tian Jiao blinked in confusion: “Dad? What are you doing?”
“Ahem…” Zhang Rui coughed lightly, as if waking up. He took a couple of steps forward and called to his daughter, “Come on, let’s go back quickly.”
Tian Jiao was still looking behind her. Xiao He secretly raised his head, and the redness on his face was showing.
She seemed to understand everything at once.
Then her pretty face turned red.
When they stayed in a city guesthouse or hotel, she had been alone, surrounded by grown men. There were very few people traveling alone, especially girls, so she felt scared.
There were originally two rooms available, but she had used her fear as an excuse to stay in Xiao He’s room.
When she woke up the next day, Xiao He felt unlucky all day due to small things. So to avoid being scared, he stayed in her room the following night too.
Even though they had settled down, they weren’t married yet, so they hadn’t done anything inappropriate.
Tian Jiao quickened her pace. She held her father’s arm and didn’t dare to look back.
Living together alone was fine, but it felt wrong with her dad knowing.
Her back felt cold, while her face felt hot, as if she had just been to Tibet.
This made Zhang Rui, who was secretly watching his daughter, particularly upset. But when he saw her little face turning red, he didn’t dare to say anything.
The car was a nice one parked outside the train station. Two men were standing nearby, looking at it with greedy eyes.
Isn’t it precious?
A car like this costs one hundred thousand yuan, which is very expensive in this era.
Tian Jiao sat in the back seat. As soon as she got in, Zhang Rui sat next to her and pointed to the passenger seat, telling Xiao He, “Sit in the front.”
“Okay.” Xiao He replied softly and went to the front.
Tian Jiao kept her eyes straight ahead. As soon as she got in the car, she lay down and fell asleep.
Zhang Rui groaned, unsure if he was angry or amused, but when the car started, he took a blanket from the back and covered her.
The car drove steadily, and a familiar scent filled the air. Tian Jiao, who had been sleeping restlessly on the train, suddenly fell asleep and didn’t even know how they got home.

After waking up, Tian Jiao washed up and applied the skin care products she brought back. Her already fair and smooth skin, which never got acne, became even more moisturized.
Looking at her beautiful self in the mirror, Tian Jiao smiled happily and rubbed her hungry stomach. As soon as she opened the door, she smelled a delicious fragrance.
“Wow! My sister is here?” Tian Jiao ran to the kitchen.
Sure enough, she saw a slim figure, but there was another person in the kitchen.
Zhang Yanran saw her and smiled softly, “You finally woke up. This is yours. Eat this to fill your stomach, and then you can have a big meal later.” She handed over a bowl of meat porridge.
Tian Jiao didn’t care much for cooking but loved eating. Her eyes lit up as she took the bowl obediently: “Thank you, sister and brother-in-law. I won’t bother you anymore.”
Tian Jiao hurried out, closing the door behind her.
As soon as the door closed, Zhang Yanran’s face turned red.
She smiled secretly, enjoying how different it was to see others blush compared to blushing herself.
After closing the door, Tian Jiao turned around and saw Xiao He looking at her in confusion. Although he didn’t say anything, his delicate face and slightly widened eyes seemed to speak.
Tian Jiao felt a bit embarrassed and frowned, saying fiercely, “What are you looking at!”
Xiao He quickly shook his head, his expression returning to normal. He said gently, “I didn’t see anything.”
“Yeah.” Tian Jiao nodded vaguely, holding the bowl and walking in. Noticing he was empty-handed, she asked, “Have you eaten?”
Xiao He touched his somewhat full stomach and shook his head: “No.”
He looked innocent, and Tian Jiao believed he was telling the truth. When he heard this, he quickly said, “Come, let’s eat together.”
They had always been like this since childhood. She spoke easily, and he listened with shining eyes, nodding naturally.
So, Tian Jiao brought the meat porridge to the living room. He and Xiao He took a spoonful each and spoke softly.
The sweet gestures between childhood friends were so touching.
Just then, two older people in their sixties, who had just returned from a walk, covered their mouths at the same time: “Tsk tsk tsk tsk… are you trying to make us sick?”
Tian Jiao immediately sat up straight, puffed out her cheeks, and looked at them: “Teacher, we are just eating!”
The two felt even more discomfort and groaned in disgust.
But this time, Tian Jiao felt awkward and hesitated to pick up her spoon.
Xiao He noticed and looked at them unhappily.
The two older men curled their lips but said nothing more.
Li Mu walked over to Xiao He and asked quietly, “How did it go this time?”
Xiao He looked at the spoon handed to him, took another bite, and then turned to talk to the teacher.
Teacher Song looked at them with a sneer but had a smile in his eyes. Suddenly, an idea struck him, and he pulled his apprentice to the studio: “I have an inspiration. Hurry up and get the paint ready for me.”
“Okay.” Tian Jiao didn’t even care about eating and started working right away.
After a while, Xiao He brought over the remaining half bowl and fed her mouthful by mouthful while she was working.
Teacher Song watched them as he painted, focusing on his work.
When they finished eating and the preparations were complete, Teacher Song quickly sketched out part of the picture. It vaguely showed two people eating, and they were feeding each other.
Chinese painting is different from oil painting and is more abstract. But if the technique is good, it can be very vivid.
Teacher Song naturally had excellent skills. Over time, the outlines of the two people appeared on the drawing paper.
The surrounding background was clearly drawn, but it still looked unreal. Only the two people and their actions were very vivid, their eyes focused and natural as they looked at each other.
Tian Jiao saw the entire painting and immediately covered her red face, stomping her feet: “!!!”
Teacher Song pinched her ears and laughed, “Why are you shy? You are already eighteen and will be able to get married soon. I’ll give you this painting as a wedding gift if I think about it!”
Tian Jiao was completely speechless and stood there feeling very embarrassed, as if she might burst into flames.
Xiao He was also a bit shy but still thanked him sincerely: “Thank you.”
