With a swift movement, the members of the Penggerei family’s gaze turned to Hyakki, who was recovering his body.
Sawada Tsunayo’s face turned pale: “This face…”
Reborn halted his speculation, not wanting him to prematurely encounter cruel truths. His large, pitch-black pupils gazed at Hyakki, a hint of admiration surfacing in his eyes.
“This young man is physically impaired, Feng Tai, ranking him might be a way to save him.”
“Got it!”
Feng Tai withdrew his gaze, nodding innocently, fully supportive of using rankings to seek a way to save someone.
In the midst of darkness, one must always seek out light, which is why he admired Sawada so much.
Plates, knives, forks, and chopsticks floated up as Feng Tai sat at the center of the Vongola Family, holding up the Book of Rankings. He communicated with the ranking stars he firmly believed existed within himself. Outside, the sun shone brightly, no rain falling, as if the heavens also supported Feng Tai in finding a new path for Hyakki.
Hyakki’s gaze fixated on the youthful flame of life within Feng Tai.
It was the third time.
An indescribable power spread out…
He reached out with his fingertips, the pale shards of light floating towards him merging into his body without any anomaly, like a simple visual feast, specks of light drifting into his spiritual world from reality.
[“So beautiful, like fireflies flying in all directions.”]
Hyakki wanted to touch the shards of light again.
Feng Tai happily exclaimed, “Can this big brother see the ranking stars? Those destined with the ranking stars in the midst of the galaxy can surely see the ranking stars!”
Ceiling and glass windows obstructed his vision, denying Hyakki the chance to see the source of the “Ranking” power. Surrounded by countless shards of light, a faint glow reflected deep within his pupils.
Without further distraction, Feng Tai recited the rankings he saw.
“The third most hopeful method to restore Hyakki’s wholeness is ranked third—”
“Byran Jesso.”
“Second place—”
“Reborn.”
“First place—”
“Kusuo Saiki!”
The three people with the deepest hidden identities in this world suddenly felt exposed, with first and second place possibly being relatives!
Inside the hotel, the restaurant’s cameras subtly pivoted.
And third place…
Byran Jesso, studying in Italy, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, even his cotton candy lost its sweetness.
“At this point in time, I shouldn’t be under anyone’s radar.” He tore open a new flavored cotton candy, sitting in the classroom with a sullen expression. “I’m just a law-abiding good student. I have no intention of destroying the world or dominating it. Why is my world so much more dangerous than other parallel dimensions?”
The deep, cold gaze of the white-haired youth seemed to penetrate the essence of the world.
But he dared not look.
Some things, once seen, would lead to death!
With temporal monsters in front and indescribable entities behind, the adolescent Byran kept a low profile, simultaneously gloating over the fact that the stronger Byran Jesso didn’t dare to come over.
If you have the guts, come over here. Let’s see if you kill me first or if you get bitten to death by the hounds.
“Byran Jesso, no eating cotton candy in class!”
A chalk hit him on the head.
The teacher from the Mafia Academy glared menacingly at the physically average but academically excellent heir of the Gesso family, while Byran Jesso on the desk whimpered pitifully, seeking mercy.
“I couldn’t resist, I won’t do it again in the future…”
There were no cameras in the school classroom, but Byran Jesso inadvertently spotted a probe outside the window.
The surveillance probe, resembling a street lamp, was pointing directly at him.
Byran Jesso: “…”
Impossible, where did I expose myself?
…
In a deeply hidden laboratory in England, a blond youth who ranked second in Feng Tai’s rankings picked up a helmet and put it on, isolating himself from the influence of these strange powers from the outside world, and said darkly,
“As expected, abilities like psychic powers and anomalies are cheating. Only science is trustworthy.”
Kusuo Saiki had been searching for the mastermind behind the temporal monsters. After investigation, he traced it to Yokohama, Japan, where he finally found the person who caused his brother’s displacement, forcing him to leave his parents. But after finding him, Kusuo Saiki encountered a problem—why was this person able to survive the pursuit of the temporal monsters?
He had no interest in human organ deficiencies, or perhaps he was uninterested in people outside of his family. His mindset was completely that of a scientist, so cold that he no longer regarded himself as human.
“Eyes? Vision?”
After casually finding Byran Jesso, Kusuo Saiki quickly deduced the weaknesses of the temporal monsters.
“Through monitoring, it is known to be a special species not in the same dimension, resembling hounds or bats. It cannot be looked at directly, cannot be touched, and carries an unknown poison all over its body. It attacks indiscriminately, traversing time and space, able to cross a time axis of one hundred million years in one day.”
“Kusuo’s X-ray vision is ineffective against the monster, and he cannot petrify it, indicating that its appearance in front of people is a ‘phenomenon,’ not a physical entity… conducting the one thousandth calculation for killing…”
“The calculation result: invent a weapon to attack dimensions.”
Kusuo Saiki eagerly abandoned his brother, who had no coffee pudding to eat, to research the new weapon.
Hmm, weapon development time should be measured in years.
Quite blunt, indeed.
As for Yokohama, it was just obligatory monitoring. Kusuo Saiki ignored everything related to Dazai raising dolls or Hyakki fighting monsters and demons, becoming obsessed with researching after collecting data on “inhumanity” and Hyakki’s body, dedicating his life to defeating his brother, who possessed various superpowers.
Therefore, Kusuo Saiki successfully veered away from shortcuts and embarked on the most difficult path of research.
How to evade the hounds of Tindalos was a mandatory question for interns at the Agency.
Hyakki knew, huh!
