“Your family can’t possibly eat so much. Selling a bit to us won’t hurt, our children haven’t had meat in a long time,” one person argued with Wang Jinhew.
“Fine, you can buy, but limit it to two pounds per person. No picking and choosing, buy or leave. Don’t waste my time here,” Wang Jinhew replied sternly, clearly annoyed by their demands.
“I want fifteen pounds.”
“I want ten pounds.”
“I want ten pounds too.”
“I want twenty pounds, and get some for my in-laws,” one person said, smiling.
Wang Jinhe frowned at these demands, “I already said, two pounds per person. Can’t you understand human language, or are your ears blocked? Can’t you understand anything?” She was firm in her decision, not willing to bend to their requests.
“You sell to others with as much as they want, why should we get so little? Even two pounds are not enough for one meal.”
“That’s right, we are all from the same village. You can’t treat us differently just because you have good relationships with some people and not with us.”
Wang Jinhe hadn’t expected that selling wild boar meat would cause such a commotion.
“They came early, you came late. Whose fault is that? Didn’t you come here to buy just because you heard that people were buying wild boar meat from us at a lower price?” The more they buy, the more they enjoy the discounts. Isn’t that the purpose?
The people who came to buy the meat looked at each other. Although they were dissatisfied, they still said, “We came a bit late, but you still have so much left, don’t you?”
“There’s still over a hundred pounds left. Even if we give you some, it’s not a big deal. Your family still has plenty,” someone argued.
“Exactly, with all the internal organs, there’s still over a hundred pounds left. But is our family foolish? Do you think we don’t know how to enjoy good food? Why would we only eat internal organs?” Wang Jinhe was baffled by their mentality. What were they thinking?
“Technically, we can still eat it,” one person muttered quietly.
“Oh? You think you can eat it? Alright then, I’ll sell it to you for two cents per pound,” Wang Jinhe said with a smirk.
“Who would want to eat that?”
“Are you trying to disgust us?”
The moment Wang Jinhe suggested selling the internal organs, everyone became angry. What did she mean by that?
“I guess you all don’t realize that you’re disgusting people, huh? Just a moment ago, I was willing to sell you two pounds each. Now, I’m truly ashamed. I won’t sell you even a single ounce. Get out of my house immediately,” Wang Jinhe said, refusing to tolerate them any longer.
Hearing Wang Jinhe’s blunt and disrespectful words, the customers trembled with anger. One of them couldn’t control their emotions and knocked over the bowl containing pork trotters and ribs, scattering them all over the floor.
Wang Jinhe’s gaze turned icy as she watched the person who had attacked her goods. “Yuanbao, cripple his hand for me.”
“Yes,” Yuanbao replied without hesitation and swiftly moved into action.
“Ahh!” A scream pierced the air as Yuanbao efficiently executed his task. Wang Jinhe looked at the person with a frigid expression.
“Just because I’m willing to talk doesn’t mean I fear you. Clarify your position and don’t overestimate yourselves. Don’t assume I won’t do anything to you,” Wang Jinhe warned, her voice cold and steady.
The woman whose hand had been crippled stared at Wang Jinhe with terror in her eyes. “You… you…”
How could Wang Jinhe dare? How could she treat her like this?
“I won’t let you off,” she vowed, refusing to accept her fate. Her fiancé was wealthy, wasn’t he? If that was the case, she would demand compensation. She wouldn’t settle for ten taels of silver like Luo Shi did.
Wang Jinhe glared coldly at the others. They cowered and quickly left.
Wang Jinhe’s actions seemed too ruthless for someone from the same village. Regardless, she didn’t care. The injured woman returned home, wailing and recounting the incident where Wang Jinhe had crippled her hand. However, only she knew the true extent of the situation.
“What? Wang Jinhe actually dared to cripple you? Let’s go,” Xie Wu said indignantly.
Seeing Xie Wu’s anger, the woman felt triumphant. Her man was a member of the escort bureau and skilled in martial arts; he was just often away from home.
Together, they went to confront Wang Jinhe’s family. When Wang Jinhe saw the newcomers, she squinted and asked, “What brings you to my house?”
“Of course, we do. My wife only came to buy meat from your house. Why did you cripple her hand for no reason?” Xie Wu asked Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe glanced at the woman and asked with a smirk, “Why would I cripple her hand for no reason? I think there’s something she could tell you that might help clear up your doubts.”
Xie Wu frowned and looked at the woman. “What does she mean?”
“Don’t listen to her nonsense; everything she says is a lie, all deceitful tricks,” the woman hurriedly spoke, looking at the man beside her.
She was genuinely worried. If Wang Jinhe had really said those things, what would she do?
Xie Wu was good to her, that was true, but there was one thing he despised the most: being deceived.
If he found out he had been lied to, he would surely be furious.
“You speak,” Xie Wu said, looking at her nervous and uneasy demeanor, then turned to Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe nodded and explained the whole situation to Xie Wu in detail. After hearing the news, Xie Wu’s face turned extremely grim.
“Wu Hua, how dare you deceive me?” Xie Wu glared at Wu Hua, his voice filled with anger.
Fortunately, Xie Wu didn’t immediately cause trouble when he arrived. Instead, he first understood what had happened. Otherwise, his reputation would have been ruined by this woman today.
“Husband, please let me explain…” Wu Hua looked at his furious expression and hurriedly tried to placate him.
“Explain? Sure, go ahead and explain. Explain to me, what exactly happened? Did you not knock over their things? They chose not to sell to you, and you behaved like this in their home. I think it serves you right that they disabled your hand.”
Deals don’t always work out, and it’s not right to demand more than what’s offered, especially when they’ve already been kind enough to offer a share of ribs, pig’s head, trotters, and internal organs. Things didn’t need to escalate to this point.
Xie Wu looked at Grandpa Wang and the others who came out of the house and quickly bowed in apology, “Uncle Wang, I’m really sorry for the trouble we caused you.”
Wang Jinhe looked at Xie Wu in surprise. He hadn’t expected this man to be as decent as Xie Yongzhen. They were both good people with strong moral values.
“It’s alright, as long as the misunderstanding has been cleared up,” Grandpa Wang waved his hand nonchalantly.
It was not their family that would suffer consequences for Wu Hua’s malicious accusations; it was Wu Hua herself who would bear the brunt of the situation.
