Lingquan Space: Fortunate Wife of a Farmer’s Family Chapter 59

Chapter 59: Does He Still Care About You?

“I am your father’s concubine, what can you do to me?” Li Shi no longer cared about anything. Her son had been taken away, so what did she have left to worry about?

“Oh, really? Do you think the old man is still willing to be entangled with you now?” Su Yu looked at Li Shi’s naive expression with irony.

In the past, the old man was willing to help because he needed to keep them in his favor. Now, there was no need to continue favoring them. Did Li Shi really think the old man loved her?

Li Shi’s expression turned somewhat vacant. Yes, Su Qin would no longer help her, and he certainly wouldn’t harm Su Yu and the others for their sake.

“Uncle, how do you think we should deal with someone who insulted the legitimate son?” Su Yu turned to Su Yong and asked.

Su Yong glanced at Li Shi and replied, “Beat them.”

Li Shi was now in complete panic. “No… you can’t lay hands on me! I have a secret that could harm the Su family.”

“With the little information you have, do you really think you’ve found some treasure? I gave you that just to see your reaction. Did you really think you’d stumbled upon something valuable?” Su Yu sneered. The information in her possession was merely what he had intentionally provided her. It was quite amusing to see them acting as if they had caught him red-handed.

Li Shi’s expression twisted as she looked at Su Yu, realizing it was him all along.

“Su Yu, you deserve to die!” With those words, Li Shi snatched a sword from someone else’s hand and swung it towards Su Yu.

Just as the sword was about to strike Su Yu, Yuanbao, who had just entered the room, saw the situation and immediately blocked it, sending the attacker flying with a palm strike.

Su Yu looked down at Li Shi in her disheveled state and smiled faintly. “Yuanbao, take this person to my father. Tell him that she tried to kill me, and he can decide how to deal with her. Also, let him know that this is his woman, so he shouldn’t dump all the mess on me.”

“Understood.”

Su Qin and Yang Shanshan were in the midst of a conversation when Yuanbao dragged Li Shi in. When Yang Shanshan saw the person Yuanbao had brought in, her eyes were filled with disgust. What was this for? Sending someone here to cause trouble?

“Second Master, Madam Li was trying to kill Young Master. Young Master asked me to bring her here. Additionally, Young Master asked me to tell you that this is your woman, so don’t let him clean up your mess,” Yuanbao explained before leaving, leaving behind Li Shi to face Su Qin and Yang Shanshan in discomfort.

Yang Shanshan threw a sharp glare at Su Qin. “Is this how you handle things? Letting our son deal with all this, have you no shame?”

Su Qin sighed, realizing that he had underestimated their son’s desire for revenge. “This woman can be dealt with as you wish. Don’t get angry. It’s not worth getting upset over someone like her. What we need to consider now is how to appease our son, that kid.”

Su Qin had noticed that their son was genuinely angry because they had deceived him. This deception had been going on for years, and it was only natural for their son to be upset when he found out. Especially in recent years, this concubine had been finding various excuses to make things difficult for their son, driving a wedge between him and the family. Now that their son had realized the truth, it would be strange if he wasn’t angry.

Yang Shanshan propped up her chin. “Let’s wait for him to come over, and then we can deal with it. Right now, we need to handle this woman.”

She knew her son’s personality well, and when he came, they could pretend to be pitiful and reconcile with him. However, the fact that this woman had tried to take their son’s life was simply outrageous. Did she have a death wish?

However, this time Yang Shanshan miscalculated because Su Yu had no intention of coming to find them at all. After resolving the issue, he went to talk to Su Xi about some matters and then left.

When Su Qin finally learned of this news, it was several days later.

“Wait, what? Xiao Yu has already left?” Su Qin asked his attendant, looking surprised.

“It’s been three days already,” the attendant replied.

Su Qin looked at his attendant in frustration. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier, Lin Fei?”

Lin Fei furrowed his brow and replied, “Master, you never asked. Besides, didn’t you say not to bother you with Xiaoyu’s matters? You used to avoid hearing about his affairs, so why are you blaming me for not telling you now?”

Su Qin realized that he had a point. In the past, he had asked not to be bothered with his son’s affairs, so it was strange for him to complain about not being informed now.

Su Qin felt like an arrow had pierced his heart, and he was left stunned by this revelation.

“Lin Fei, you…”

“Master, in the past few years, can you recall how many times you’ve inquired about Young Master’s affairs? It’s not hard to see where your priorities lie,” Lin Fei replied with a hint of criticism.

“Are you implying something against me, Lin Fei?” Su Qin frowned and asked displeased.

“Your humble servant dares not. I simply wish to remind you of one thing – Young Master no longer requires your involvement,” Lin Fei stated. He remembered quite vividly how Young Master had approached him three times in total. During the last encounter, Young Master had simply said, “Alright, I understand.”

“What are you talking about?” Su Qin was left baffled, wondering why his son no longer needed him.

“Four years ago, Young Master approached you twice, and three years ago, he came to you once. On all three occasions, you told him not to bother you. Since then, Young Master stopped informing you about anything, even when he was injured – everyone else knew except for you and Madam. Now, it’s too late for you to ask where Young Master has gone,” Lin Fei explained. He had warned his master that he would come to regret his actions.

Su Qin wanted to explain himself, but the words got stuck in his throat. He could only gaze blankly at Lin Fei.

After some consideration, Su Qin went to Su Xi’s place. He was sure that Su Yu would come to see him when he left.

Seeing Su Qin approaching, Su Xi wasn’t surprised at all. “Do you have something to discuss?”

“Dad, did Su Yu come to you before he left?” Su Qin asked anxiously.

“Yes, he did. After visiting me, he left. What’s the matter?” Su Xi asked indifferently.

He had already learned about some of Su Qin’s actions from Su Yu. Trying to promote Su Jing by undermining Su Yu – no wonder Su Yu didn’t inform him about anything now.

“Dad, how long has Su Yu been back this time? Why did you let him go so soon?” Su Qin asked, looking at his father with a headache.

“Over these years, Su Yu has been coming back for a few days and leaving. You didn’t seem to care before. Why are you concerned about it now?”

“Dad, it’s not like that. Isn’t this Su Yu’s home? He…”

“Su Yu’s home? Does it look like one? I know what you want. You’ve been trying to make up for what you did to Su Yu these past years, trying to build a good relationship with him, hoping to please him, yet you still expect him to come to you. Su Qin, who do you think you are?” Su Xi asked bluntly.

“Dad, I…” Su Qin was at a loss for words.

“You can do whatever you want to boost Su Jing, but why should you harm Su Yu? Over these years, have you done any less to hurt him? You, and even Yang Shanshan, have acted this way. What’s the matter? Just because she’s unhappy with your show, she takes it all out on Su Yu? If she can’t trouble you, she goes after Su Yu instead, is that it? Your actions, knowingly hurting Su Yu, are even more despicable than hers.” Su Xi scolded them sternly.
