Xiao Bao, hearing the voice and seeing the person next to him, instinctively held Su Yu’s hand.
Wang Jinhe narrowed his eyes, about to say something, when Su Yu coldly spoke up, “Yuanbao, beat them until they stop spouting nonsense.”
Wang Jinhe turned to look at Su Yu, her eyes filled with astonishment. This guy actually ordered someone to physically assault others. What was he trying to achieve?
However, why did it feel so satisfying?
“Isn’t it inappropriate to resort to physical violence directly like this?” Wang Jinhe asked.
Su Yu shook his head. “If they won’t listen to reason, then we’ll beat them until they do. Some people are like this; the more you tolerate them, the more they push boundaries. Such people need to be taught a lesson, and sometimes a good beating is the only language they understand.” He hadn’t gone looking for trouble with these people, but they had willingly brought it to his doorstep.
“You dare! This is Xie Family Village, not a place for you to act recklessly,” the woman looked at Su Yu warily, seemingly concerned that he might resort to violence.
“Then, let’s ask the village chief why you people keep causing trouble for my family. You take advantage of our family’s gentleness and non-confrontational nature, thinking you can come here to bully us whenever you please,” Wang Jinhe said, looking at the woman. “Let me think, how many times have you visited my family to stir up trouble this month? You come here to steal something every day, and when we refuse, you start cursing. If I report you to the authorities, you might end up in jail, right? Do you want to give it a try?”
“You’re talking nonsense! Who… who stole something from your house?” the woman angrily retorted.
Wang Jinhe chuckled softly, “Whether it happened or not, you know it in your heart. No need to tell me. Just apologize and leave.”
“You despicable person actually wants me to apologize? I…”
“Yunbao,” Su Yu grew impatient and ordered Yunbao to take action immediately.
Watching the woman’s dumbfounded expression, Wang Jinhe silently chuckled and remarked, “He’s quite different from me.”
Without further ado, Yunbao, delivering a slap that left a metallic taste in the woman’s mouth. Panic filled her eyes as she stammered, “You… you dare to lay hands on me? I won’t let this go. I’ll definitely report this to the village chief.”
“Feel free to do so. We asked you to apologize, but you wouldn’t listen, insisting on getting beaten. Whose fault is it?” Wang Jinhe shook her head and tutted. This person was really asking for trouble. Why not just apologize and be done with it? Instead, she insisted on a beating, and now she got one. She had brought it upon herself.
Seeing that they were serious about resorting to violence, Xie Zhu suddenly felt afraid. “Mother, let’s go. Let’s not cause trouble for them anymore.”
“You shut up! How did I end up with a son like you? You’re more trouble than you’re worth,” the woman scolded her son angrily.
“Shut up! How did I end up with a son like you? You cause more trouble than you’re worth,” the woman scolded her son angrily.
“Wang Jinhe, you bringing outsiders to hit me, I won’t let this matter rest,” the woman threatened.
“Do whatever you want. If you want to do something, just do it. No need to keep blabbering here,” Wang Jinhe replied dismissively.
Xiao Bao tilted his head, observing the person who had been beaten by his father’s subordinate. It seemed like they weren’t so formidable after all.
“Yunbao, when did you become so soft-hearted?” Su Yu glanced at Yunbao.
Yunbao cleared its throat and immediately struck again, only this time, it was a bit more ruthless.
“Ah!” A cry of pain made Wang Jinhe furrow her brow.
“Did you hit her a bit too hard?” Wang Jinhe asked Su Yu.
Su Yu glanced at Yunbao and the latter innocently replied, “I didn’t expect her to be so fragile.”
Wang Jinhe looked at Yunbao in disbelief. After beating someone up, it was complaining that they were too fragile?
He turned to Su Yu and asked, “Is this your subordinate?”
Su Yu felt like he had lost all face in front of Wang Jinhe.
“He’s a bit silly, don’t mind him,” Su Yu said seriously to Wang Jinhe.
Yunbao couldn’t help but protest, “Who said I’m silly? Young Master, I’m the smartest among everyone.”
Su Yu gave Yunbao a disdainful look and didn’t want to continue the conversation with him.
Wang Jinhe glanced at one and then the other, nodded knowingly, and said, “I see. Yunbao has a high IQ but low EQ.”
Su Yu sighed, “I even doubt if he can find a wife in the future.”
If he had a subordinate who remained perpetually single, it would be embarrassing for him, not anyone else.
Wang Jinhe cleared her throat and looked at Su Yu with a smile in his eyes, “He’ll find someone eventually, probably just needs some enlightenment.”
“Him? He’s been like this all his life,” Su Yu said with disdain.
The woman, seeing the two of them ignoring her and chatting away, was filled with resentment. Who was Wang Jinhe to have such a man? This man even had a servant, indicating that he was not an ordinary person.
“Wang Jinhe, do you really think he’s sincere? These rich young masters are notorious for being fickle. Sooner or later, he’ll abandon you. You’re just a lowly woman, yet you think you deserve such a husband?” The woman was consumed by jealousy.
Wang Jinhe didn’t get angry. Instead, she smiled and said, “I know why you’re saying these things. It’s because your partner did something like that. You’re just jealous.”
“After all, my good fortune is something you can’t envy. You have such a foul mouth. You got beaten up and you’re still spewing nonsense.”
“You…”
“Oh, I remember why you always come to bother me. It’s because your husband has another woman outside, and you’re not well-treated in your in-laws’ family. So you resort to these antics to seek attention. You can’t stand seeing me have a better life than you, right? It’s just too bad that I will continue to live better than you.” Wang Jinhe suddenly recalled who this woman was.
She was the wife of Xie Rong from the village. The man never truly loved her; it was her family who forced him to marry her. After their marriage, she had a decent life for a while. However, when her in-laws had a new daughter-in-law, they became less interested in her, and Xie Rong found opportunities to have an affair outside. Not only did he have another woman, but he also neglected this woman and their son, Xie Zhu.
Su Yu frowned and looked at the woman. “Are you out of your mind? Why don’t you go cause a scene with your husband instead of coming to bother Xiao He?”
“It’s probably because I got pregnant before marriage and had a child, yet my family still supported me. Now that we have this nice house, she’s jealous and wants to provoke me and my family,” Wang Jinhe explained, giving the woman a glance.
“Don’t bother with such a woman. Let’s go back. Xiao Bao, would you like to come out to fly kites again next time?” Su Yu asked Xiao Bao.
“Okay,” Xiao Bao nodded eagerly. As long as he could continue to go out and play with his dad and mom, he was happy.
Xie Zhu watched as Xiao Bao was held by Su Yu, and his eyes were filled with envy and jealousy. From childhood to adulthood, his father had never held him like that, nor did he like him. He used to think that Xiao Bao, like him, had no father, so he enjoyed bullying him. Even if he bullied him, no one would come to Xiao Bao’s aid.
