Although Wang Jinhe suspected that Gu Xiruo would act after Su Yu’s departure, she never imagined that Gu Xiruo would target Su Yu and the children. If Gu Xiruo succeeded, it would indeed be as devastating as she had envisioned.
Su Yu and the children were an integral part of Wang Jinhe’s life. The idea of someone plotting against them was unforgivable.
“Sister-in-law, what do you want to do? Luo Hou and I will help you,” Nan Qiao, seeing Wang Jinhe’s anger, quickly offered her support.
Wang Jinhe remained silent. She did intend to deal with Gu Xiruo, but not at that moment.
“If she wants power and status, I’ll give it to her. When will Lou Manqing arrive?” Wang Jinhe asked Nan Qiao and the others.
“Brother Yu has already informed the Lou family before leaving. It may take a few more days,” Nan Qiao calculated the time and replied.
“Understood. Yuan Xu, instruct the others to ensure that there are always at least two people with Xiao Bao and the others, no matter the time,” Wang Jinhe instructed Yuan Xu.
“Yes.”
Lu Lingfeng’s subordinate standing nearby felt uneasy. He had no desire to eavesdrop on the Princess and her companions discussing matters.
He knew that the more one knew, the quicker one would meet their end.
“Has the Princess’s subordinate left?”
“You may go now. Please convey my thanks to your young master for me. I appreciate his kindness,” Wang Jinhe suddenly remembered that Lu Lingfeng’s man was still present.
“Of course.” With that, the subordinate left.
Upon returning, the subordinate only mentioned Wang Jinhe’s gratitude to Lu Lingfeng, without divulging any further details.
Since the young master had decided to distance himself from these matters, there was no need to involve him.
“Sister-in-law, this Lu Lingfeng seems to have some brains,” Luo Hou remarked.
Wang Jinhe nodded with a smile, “After cutting ties with Gu Xiruo, Lu Lingfeng’s intelligence and wits are still intact.”
Nan Qiao couldn’t help but smile, but her expression quickly turned serious. “Sister-in-law, we should give Gu Xiruo a profound lesson. She’s so eager to become the head of the Gu family, right? What if we push Gu Yanqi into that position instead? That would surely infuriate Gu Xiruo, wouldn’t it?”
Watching the prize she had almost secured slip away, Gu Xiruo’s reaction was a mystery. Just the thought of it made Nan Qiao feel excited.
“That’s indeed a good idea. I’m curious to see how Gu Xiruo will react,” Wang Jinhe agreed.
“Then let’s find Gu Yanqi and inform him about the Gu family matters.”
Gu Yanqi had always carried a sense of guilt towards her. If she passed on the message to him, he should understand its significance, right?
“No problem, I’ll arrange it right away.” Nan Qiao happily went to handle the task.
Seeing her excitement, Luo Hou felt resigned. Nan Qiao’s interest meant trouble for Gu Xiruo.
“Sister-in-law, I’ll keep an eye on Nan Qiao to prevent him from going overboard.”
“Alright.”
“Yuan Xu, let’s go find Xiao Bao and the others.” After studying with Xiao Zhi, Xiao Bao would go play with his friends in the capital.
When they went out to play, Xiao Bao didn’t like to bring along others, which could make him an easy target. Wang Jinhe needed to have a talk with Xiao Bao and the others.
When Wang Jinhe arrived, Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi had not finished their classes yet. They waited for a while before seeing the two brothers coming out.
“Mommy,” Xiao Bao happily ran over to Wang Jinhe, with Xiao Zhi following behind at a leisurely pace.
“Xiao Bao, Xiao Zhi, come here. I have something to tell you,” Wang Jinhe said.
The two children approached Wang Jinhe obediently and asked, “Mommy, what do you want to tell us?”
Wang Jinhe explained to the two children about Gu Xiruo’s intentions to harm them. “I’m not telling you this to go after Gu Xiruo. That’s my concern. I’m telling you this to remind you that when you go out to play with your friends later, make sure to have someone by your side who can protect you.”
Upon hearing this, Xiao Bao immediately reassured her, “Mommy, don’t worry. I will listen and behave.”
Seeing Xiao Bao’s obedient and sensible demeanor, Xiao Zhi remained silent. Why couldn’t he believe that Xiao Bao would be so obedient?
“That’s good.”
After reminding Xiao Bao a few more times, Wang Jinhe returned to another study and instructed Yuan Xu to summon Wan Feng.
Once Wang Jinhe had left, the obedient expression on Xiao Bao’s face disappeared, replaced by a look of disdain. “That Gu Xiruo actually dared to scheme against Daddy and even wanted to harm us siblings. She really doesn’t know her place.”
Seeing Xiao Bao’s reaction, Xiao Zhi raised his hand to his forehead. He knew Xiao Bao would react this way.
“What do you plan to do?” Having spent so much time with Xiao Bao, Xiao Zhi knew that despite his appearance of obedience, Xiao Bao was full of clever ideas and incredibly intelligent. It made Xiao Zhi feel inferior in terms of intelligence.
However, Xiao Bao was usually lazy and never took things seriously. Now that he was starting to take things seriously, Xiao Zhi wondered if Gu Xiruo could handle it.
“Come here, I’ll tell you something,” Xiao Bao motioned for Xiao Zhi to come closer. After whispering something in his ear, Xiao Zhi looked at Xiao Bao with a strange expression. “Daddy will definitely be angry if he finds out you’re planning this way.”
“Daddy isn’t here, right?” Xiao Bao said confidently.
This statement left Xiao Zhi feeling somewhat helpless. Did he really have to let Xiao Bao go through with this plan? What if something went wrong?
“Xiao Bao, what you’re planning is very risky,” Xiao Zhi cautioned.
Seeing Xiao Zhi’s reluctance, Xiao Bao looked around and then grabbed his hand, leading him to find Nan Qiao and the others. “Let’s go find Uncle Nan Qiao. We’ll play with them, and if Daddy finds out later, we’ll just shift all the blame onto Uncle Nan Qiao and the others. We’re just kids and don’t know anything.”
Xiao Zhi twitched his mouth as he looked at Xiao Bao.
Was it really appropriate to scheme against Uncle Nan Qiao so openly like this?
“Brother…” Seeing Xiao Zhi hesitating, Xiao Bao looked at him with teary eyes.
Seeing this, Xiao Zhi immediately nodded in agreement. “Okay, let’s go find Uncle Nan Qiao.”
As they went to find Nan Qiao, Xiao Zhi felt a bit frustrated. Once again, he had given in to Xiao Bao’s wishes, feeling conflicted.
Why couldn’t he resist any of Xiao Bao’s requests, especially when he looked at him with those eyes?
Looking at Xiao Bao helplessly, Xiao Zhi chuckled and said, “You even schemed against me.”
“No, I didn’t,” Xiao Bao replied innocently.
When they found Nan Qiao and Luo Hou, the two were also preparing to deal with Gu Xiruo.
“Uncle Nan Qiao and Uncle Luo Hou, we’re here,” Xiao Bao greeted as they entered.
Surprised to hear Xiao Bao’s voice, Nan Qiao asked, “Xiao Bao, why are you here to see me?”
“Hehe, Uncle Nan Qiao, I have something fun to tell you. Do you want to hear it?”
