Nan Qiao looked at Xiao Bao’s mischievous expression and asked suspiciously, “Are you planning to scheme against me again?”
When they first met, Xiao Bao appeared to be a simple and innocent child in Nan Qiao’s eyes. However, as time passed, Nan Qiao realized that Xiao Bao was actually quite cunning and intelligent. He had a talent for scheming in silence, catching others off guard with his calculated moves.
Nan Qiao had been outsmarted by Xiao Bao once before, which was quite embarrassing.
Thinking about it made him feel ashamed.
“No, I just found out that Gu Xiruo wants to harm my siblings and me, so I thought of giving her something to keep her busy,” Xiao Bao innocently looked at Nan Qiao, as if to say, “You misunderstood me.”
Seeing Xiao Bao’s expression, Nan Qiao couldn’t help but feel a bit skeptical. Could he really be misunderstood?
“Is that really all?” Nan Qiao asked, still feeling doubtful.
Xiao Bao quickly nodded, “Yes, yes, I’m really just trying to help. Look how well-behaved I am. What could I possibly do?”
Nan Qiao chuckled, thinking to himself, “You dared to suggest taking over the Qi Empire directly to the Emperor, and you call yourself well-behaved?”
In the past, Nan Qiao would have believed him, but now he was definitely skeptical.
“Uncle Nan Qiao, don’t you trust me?” Xiao Bao looked at Nan Qiao with a pitiful expression, asking in a seemingly innocent and aggrieved manner.
Nan Qiao’s mouth twitched slightly. Was Xiao Bao really trying to play the victim here?
Beside him, Luo Hou shook his head helplessly, feeling like Nan Qiao was about to be outsmarted by Xiao Bao again.
“Don’t give me that look. Whenever you look at me like that, trouble is sure to follow,” Nan Qiao said sternly, grumbling.
Xiao Bao tried to portray himself as extremely innocent.
Xiao Zhi found it somewhat amusing to listen to this exchange. It seemed that Xiao Bao’s mischievous nature had become deeply ingrained, even causing Nan Qiao, who liked him so much, to become wary.
“Uncle Nan Qiao, do you want to hear it or not?” Xiao Bao asked impatiently, looking at Nan Qiao with dissatisfaction.
Seeing Xiao Bao’s thoughtful expression, Nan Qiao reluctantly said, “Since you’re so eager to tell me, I’ll reluctantly listen.”
Xiao Bao waved at Nan Qiao, smiling mischievously, “Come closer, and I’ll tell you.”
“Alright.”
But after hearing Xiao Bao’s mischievous idea, Nan Qiao looked bewildered.
Xiao Bao’s expression was particularly strange.
“Xiao Bao, are you sure Sister-in-law won’t scold you once she finds out?” Nan Qiao asked helplessly, feeling worried.
Xiao Bao quickly shook his head. “You just won’t tell mommy, right? Besides, you’re the one taking action, not me. It’s none of my business. I’m just a kid, I don’t know anything.”
With that, Xiao Bao grabbed Xiao Zhi and ran off, leaving Nan Qiao dumbfounded and Luo Hou trying to hold back a laugh.
Nan Qiao knew it would end up like this.
Xiao Bao truly inherited Su Yu’s natural talent perfectly. He was indeed very clever. Of course, his intelligence depended on whether he was willing to use it. If he wanted to deceive everyone, like he did with Nan Qiao, he could. If not, he was just an innocent and obedient child.
Nan Qiao sighed heavily, looking helpless. “I knew it would turn out like this.”
Luo Hou chuckled, looking at him with amusement and whispered, “You knew too, huh?”
Giving Luo Hou a disdainful look, Nan Qiao remarked, “But Xiao Bao’s idea is not bad at all. If it succeeds, it will alleviate a lot of trouble for us. Moreover, it will lead to their self-destruction. What a brilliant idea! I love watching people destroy each other.”
Upon hearing Nan Qiao’s words, Luo Hou suddenly became curious about what Xiao Bao had said to excite Nan Qiao so much.
“What did Xiao Bao say?” Luo Hou inquired.
Nan Qiao shared Xiao Bao’s idea with Luo Hou in a hushed tone, and after hearing it, Luo Hou couldn’t help but feel that he had underestimated Xiao Bao’s cunning nature.
Rubbing his forehead, Luo Hou chuckled and said, “Xiao Bao is truly a crafty little one. He can come up with such schemes.”
“He is Brother Yu’s son, and the one who resembles Brother Yu the most.” Xiao Bao was personally taught by Brother Yu, so having such thoughts didn’t seem surprising.
“Are you not concerned about being used as a scapegoat?” Luo Hou asked, surprised, as he looked at Nan Qiao.
“What’s there to be concerned about? We were already planning to deal with them. Now we have a better method thanks to Xiao Bao’s idea,” Nan Qiao replied, shaking his head.
He was starting to look forward to it.
It must be said that Luo Hou was also looking forward to it.
After careful consideration, Nan Qiao and Luo Hou began to set things up according to Xiao Bao’s plan. Once Lou Manqing arrived, things should be close to completion.
“Xiao Bao, aren’t you worried that Uncle Nan Qiao might not help and instead tell Daddy about this?” Xiao Zhi, considering Xiao Bao’s tendency to stir up trouble, quickly interjected.
“If Xiao Bao gets into trouble, Daddy will definitely be angry.”
Xiao Bao nodded, “I would never joke about risking my own life.”
He remembered when he left with the villain during the family genealogy ceremony, and how angry his Daddy was at that time. He had promised him that he wouldn’t do such things again. Since he made that promise, he was determined to keep it.
“I promised Daddy that I wouldn’t put myself in danger,” Xiao Bao said to Xiao Zhi.
Xiao Zhi suddenly had a bad feeling. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Xiao Bao had indeed done something like this before. Otherwise, why would Daddy make Xiao Bao promise such a thing?
“Brother, let’s go,” before Xiao Zhi could ask anything, Xiao Bao had already dragged him away.
When it was time to go out and play with their friends, they didn’t stay at home either.
That day, after Xiao Zhi and Xiao Bao finished the tasks assigned by Su Yu before he left, they took the servant and went out to find their friends to play.
Before leaving, they informed Wang Jinhe and then set off.
Wang Jinhe only reminded the people around them to protect Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi before letting them go out.
Just like Xiao Bao, she didn’t make the two children deliberately avoid the trouble that had not yet appeared.
“As we walk, there’s been someone following us behind,” halfway through the journey, the servant suddenly spoke up.
Upon hearing this, Xiao Bao became interested.
Taking Xiao Zhi, they turned onto a more secluded path.
When they reached the entrance of a closed alley, the person following them finally revealed themselves.
“You two little daredevils have quite the courage, daring to walk to such a remote place,” these two little troublemakers were indeed bold, but that was about it.
Would these two little troublemakers pay the price for their ignorance?
“Is that so?”
Those individuals had no idea how excited Xiao Bao’s smile truly was.
