Lingquan Space: Fortunate Wife of a Farmer’s Family Chapter 72

Chapter 72: Valuable Self-Awareness

Wu Na’s mother, Wu shi, looked at her daughter for a long moment and then thought about what she had seen today when Wang Jinhe was mentioned, with a furrowed brow, “Na Na, Wang Jinhe is very beautiful.”

“Beautiful? Is she more beautiful than me?” Wu Na asked, feeling defiant.

Wu Shi twitched the corner of her mouth as she looked at Wu Na and said, “Na Na, true self-awareness is a valuable quality. Wang Jinhe has fair and tender skin, but what about you?”

Wu Na fell silent immediately; she knew her only flaw was her darker skin.

“Mother, besides my skin color, what else do I not have compared to Wang Jinhe?” Wu Na complained.

Wu shi  looked at her daughter with a headache and said, “Na Na, once you see Wang Jinhe, you’ll understand where the differences between the two of you lie.”

“I don’t believe it.” With that, Wu Na stormed out.

When Wu Na arrived at Wang Jinhe’s house and saw how their living conditions had improved so much, she was left in awe.

Was Wang Jinhe’s house really this nice now?

Looking at the spacious and grand house, Wu Na couldn’t help but feel jealous. How could she not envy this?

When Wu Na entered the house, she saw Wang Jinhe and Su Yu in conversation.

But when she laid eyes on Su Yu, Wu Na was completely captivated. Could there really be someone this good-looking?

Su Yu sensed someone staring at her and turned to look. When she saw the person who had just entered, her brow furrowed slightly. “Who are you?”

Wang Jinhe was a bit annoyed today. Why did people keep coming to her house? And without even announcing themselves, they just barged in, showing no manners whatsoever.

“Hello, sir. My name is Wu Na,” she replied, looking a bit embarrassed as she faced Su Yu.

Su Yu’s mouth twitched. Did this woman even realize how embarrassing she looked right now?

Not only was the person somewhat overweight, but also dark-skinned, and not just dark, but with a pockmarked face. Staring at her in this state made Su Yu feel quite disgusted.

Wang Jinhe cleared her throat when she saw Wu Na like this and nudged the person beside her. “What are your thoughts right now?”

“I feel like throwing up, it’s disgusting,” Su Yu replied without mincing words.

Wang Jinhe finally couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “You make me find this really amusing. Are you that repulsed by her?”

Su Yu took a deep breath and looked seriously at Wang Jinhe. “Xiao He, what do you think when you see this face?”

Wang Jinhe cleared her throat. “Can’t eat?”

Su Yu gazed at Wang Jinhe’s fair and tender face. “Or maybe my wife looks better. My dear, can you tell me how you maintain your complexion?” Su Yu asked Wang Jinhe with curiosity.

Wang Jinhe tilted her head and said to Su Yu, “I don’t think I’ve really done much for skincare.”

“What do you need for skincare? Just tell me, and I’ll buy whatever you need.” Su Yu often heard his mother talk about eating certain things for better health.

“I’m not quite sure about that, but you can use pearl powder for face masks; it can help with whitening,” Wang Jinhe considered and replied.

Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe’s face and furrowed his brow. “Your skin is already fair enough.”

“Wow, you’re quite eloquent,” Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but laugh.

“I’m just speaking the truth. When your two faces are put together, anyone would think you’re the better-looking one, right?” Su Yu said, looking very satisfied.

Hmm, in the future, I should get some more good stuff to make Xiao He even more beautiful.

Wu Na listened to their conversation and felt extremely embarrassed. She glared at Su Yu angrily and said, “What does this girl have that makes you treat me like this?”

Wang Jinhe’s mouth twitched, and she asked, “Do you know this person?”

Su Yu shook his head, saying, “I don’t know her.”

“When she said that, I thought you had done something to her,” Wang Jinhe said, looking at Su Yu.

Su Yu furrowed his brow, reached out to lightly pat Wang Jinhe, and said disapprovingly, “What do you mean I’ve done something to her? I’m not that kind of person.”

Wang Jinhe cleared her throat and gave Wu Na a look. Was this woman trying to provoke a fight? She wasn’t even fazed by Su Yu’s remarks.

Sure enough, Wu Na’s face turned livid with anger. “You’ve gone too far.”

“What’s this? You have no self-awareness about your own appearance? You’re ugly and yet you think highly of yourself,” Su Yu sneered.

“Even if she looks good, Wang Jinhe has an illegitimate child,” Wu Na spoke without restraint.

Su Yu furrowed his brow but didn’t get angry at Wu Na’s words. Instead, he was thinking about something else.

“Xiao He, what do you think if we get married here at your place first? I’ll have my grandfather come over,” Su Yu said seriously, looking at Wang Jinhe.

“I don’t want to hear people talk about you and Xiao Bao again,” Su Yu said. He had heard those words too many times.

Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu in surprise, sensing his displeasure. “Are you serious?”

Su Yu pointed at his own face. “Do I look like I’m joking with you?”

Wu Na thought that Su Yu would push Wang Jinhe away and be very angry when he heard this, but she couldn’t have imagined that he not only wasn’t angry but also wanted to marry Wang Jinhe.

“You’re actually going to marry this woman? Don’t you know she’s a woman of loose morals?” Wu Na couldn’t help but say, feeling exasperated.

Su Yu glanced at Wu Na and said, “Yuanbao.”

Yuanbao threw Wu Na out, and just as she was about to curse, he directly dislocated her jaw.

“Our lady and young master are not to be insulted by the likes of you. Get lost,” he said.

Wu Na pointed at her jaw, making incoherent noises. She didn’t want to be mute; she didn’t want to be unable to speak.

Yuanbao reset Wu Na’s jaw and looked at her. “If there’s a next time, you won’t get your jaw back.”

Wu Na was frightened and, as soon as she could speak again, she turned and ran so fast that she couldn’t be caught.

Wang Jinhe walked to the door, watching Wu Na run away as if she had seen a ghost. She glanced at Yuanbao and shook her head. “Yuanbao, you scared her away with your actions.”

“It’s because her courage was too small, my lady.”

Su Yu walked over, grabbed her, and said, “Let’s not talk about this now. Come with me.”

Yuanbao watched as Wang Jinhe was dragged away by Su Yu, raising a playful eyebrow. When did their young master become like this?

“What are you doing?” Wang Jinhe said, feeling a headache.

“Think about what I just said,” Su Yu said to Wang Jinhe once again.

Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu helplessly. “Isn’t it fine the way things are now? What’s gotten into you today? Why are you suddenly fixated on this?”

“No, I don’t want the same thing to happen again,” Su Yu said coldly.

Everything that happened today made him want to tell everyone that Wang Jinhe was far better than all of them.

Wang Jinhe remained silent for a long time and then said, “You really don’t need to pay attention to what those people say. I stopped caring about it a long time ago.”
