Chapter 31 – From One to The Other

Zhou Ziyi did as he said, and from the afternoon till evening, he didn’t step out of the villa.

However, he didn’t just lie on the bed. Instead, he squatted on the sofa in the living room and watched a three-hour movie.

Before watching, he asked Yan Xiuzhi if he minded.
Since Yan Xiuzhi was sitting in the living room with a notebook, Zhou Ziyi was afraid of disturbing his work. If Yan Xiuzhi didn’t want to be disturbed, Zhou Ziyi was prepared to go back to his room and squat there to avoid causing trouble. However, Yan Xiuzhi said it was fine, so Zhou Ziyi comfortably occupied the longest sofa and watched a movie on the big screen TV.

As a result, after three hours, Zhou Ziyi went from sitting properly to sitting cross-legged, then to sprawled out, and finally laying on his side. He even took a break in between to find snacks and drinks. On the other hand, Yan Xiuzhi, who was sitting on the adjacent single sofa, barely moved except for a minute to use the restroom. His posture remained upright the whole time.

Of course, President Yan was also fed by Zhou Ziyi on the side.

When the three-hour movie ended and Zhou Ziyi listened to the ending song, he turned to Yan Xiuzhi in confusion and said, “Ge, three hours… and those people were just on the road the whole time? It’s so aimless.”

As the person who accompanied the viewing, Yan Xiuzhi calmly responded, “Just consider it… a promotional video for N Island.”

“Haha, you’re right. We’ve seen the scenery all along the way.” Zhou Ziyi stood up, stretched lazily, and said, “I’ll go call for dinner. Is there anything you want to eat, or don’t want to eat?”

“Anything is fine,” Yan Xiuzhi said, wiping the corner of his eye with his finger. “There’s cake for tonight, right? Eat less for dinner.”

“Huh, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have forgotten all about it,” Zhou Ziyi paused and looked at Yan Xiuzhi with some confusion. “Ge, do you have something in your eyes? I’ve seen you rub your eyes several times.”

“It’s nothing,” Yan Xiuzhi just felt a bit itchy in his eyes, but it wasn’t serious, so he didn’t pay much attention to it. “Go and do your thing.”

“When you came to save me today, did you open your eyes underwater?” Zhou Ziyi wanted to take a closer look. “Did you put eye drops when you came up?”

Yan Xiuzhi just remembered about the eye drops at that moment. “No.”

“Do we have eye drops in the villa? It doesn’t seem like a common thing to have. I’ll ask the hotel for it,” Zhou Ziyi said, and without waiting for Yan Xiuzhi’s response, he turned and left. Yan Xiuzhi was about to say “I’ll do it myself,” but before he could, Zhou Ziyi was gone.

The ending song of the movie was still playing, but he sure left quickly.

I had a boneless chicken drumstick for dinner, which was salty; the cake came at eight o’clock, which was sweet, but not too sweet.

When the hotel brought the cake, they also brought colored lights and candles, saying they could help create a romantic scene. Zhou Ziyi found it quite interesting himself, but he was afraid President Yan would get angry, so he politely declined the hotel’s kind offer.

Zhou Ziyi brought back a cake and personally cut a not-so-big piece for Yan Xiuzhi. President Yan didn’t mind on the surface, but actually ate quite neatly. However, when he was halfway through, he forcefully closed his eyes, and Zhou Ziyi noticed the movement. “President Yan, have you used the eye drops?”

Yan Xiuzhi calmly replied, “I have.”

“Oh.” Zhou Ziyi didn’t want to push too hard, so he had to change the subject and waved a strawberry in front of Yan Xiuzhi. “Ge, does this scene feel familiar to you?”

Yan Xiuzhi immediately reacted.

When taking wedding photos, Zhou Ziyi also held a fork like this, waved a piece of cake in front of him, and eventually he ate it. Later, Zhou Ziyi teased him with a strawberry, and finally even kissed him on the corner of his mouth.

Yan Xiuzhi later took the initiative to kiss Zhou Ziyi at the wedding, as a retaliation for his actions.

However, this time, President Yan was not obliged to interact with Zhou Ziyi. So he just glanced at the young man, then finished the cake in three or two bites, and left.

“Hey, Ge, there’s still half of the cake left!” Zhou Ziyi said, “Would you like another piece?”

“I’m not eating anymore.” Yan Xiuzhi didn’t eat it himself, but still wanted to block Zhou Ziyi, who was eating, “Don’t eat too much at night, it’s not good for your health.”

“Cough, I’ll just finish this piece, and that’s it!” Zhou Ziyi held his plate, indicating that he didn’t eat much, “I’ll put this half in the fridge, okay?”

Yan Xiuzhi watched as he was about to go back to his room, but he was still standing in the living room responding, “You don’t need to tell me about this little thing.”

“I just wanted to say, I want to sleep in tomorrow morning, so I probably won’t get up to make you breakfast.” Zhou Ziyi said, “If you don’t want to call for breakfast, you can continue eating this cake… um, Ge, do you eat leftover cake?”

Yan Xiuzhi originally didn’t think this was a big deal, but after hearing Zhou Ziyi’s last sentence, he raised an eyebrow, “What do you really think of me? Are leftover cakes poisonous to me?”

“Aren’t you the super head of Hua Hao? I think you, a nobleman born with a silver spoon in your mouth, must eat fresh food every day, not eating leftovers is quite normal, right?” Zhou Ziyi laughed, “If you don’t eat it, I’ll have it for afternoon tea.”

“…Let’s talk about it tomorrow.” Yan Xiuzhi paused and asked, “What time will you wake up?”

“I don’t know, I’ll wake up naturally.” Zhou Ziyi blinked, “Actually, it’s also possible that I’ll sleep until the afternoon. President Yan, don’t worry, I won’t sleep to death in bed, right?”

Yan Xiuzhi frowned, “But the doctor said today that you might have some ‘aftereffects.’ If you sleep too long, I can’t judge if you’re resting normally or if something is wrong.”

Zhou Ziyi pondered, “Or… I won’t lock the door?”

Yan Xiuzhi: “Hmm?”

“I won’t lock the door when I sleep tonight,” Zhou Ziyi said, resting his chin on his hand and smiling at the man, “If President Yan wants to make sure I’m safe, you can just come in and check, touch me to see if I’m still soft and warm.”

Yan Xiuzhi was speechless, “What kind of nonsense is this?”

“It’s okay, I don’t mind if President Yan suddenly comes to inspect the room,” Zhou Ziyi chuckled, “I promise not to do anything that would offend President Yan while in bed, okay? I promise I’m soft and won’t get hard!”

It took Yan Xiuzhi two seconds to realize that Zhou Ziyi had actually made a dirty joke.

“Whatever you want.” President Yan, who didn’t want to take the dirty jokes, turned around and really went back to the master bedroom this time.

Zhou Ziyi smiled and quietly finished the cake on his plate.

The next day, Zhou Ziyi indeed slept in until two in the afternoon.

If he hadn’t sent a message to Yan Xiuzhi to confirm his safety before noon, Yan Xiuzhi might really have gone into his room to make sure he was still alive.

As Zhou Ziyi yawned and went back to “daydreaming,” Yan Xiuzhi watched him disappear and then turned his gaze back to the computer screen.

Unable to help himself, he rubbed his eyes again.

After rubbing his eyes, he thought for a moment and then put in some eye drops.

Zhou Ziyi wasted another day in the villa, spending more time in bed than out of it.

After a day of languishing, Zhou Ziyi finally regained his vitality. He got up around nine in the morning and, when he came out of the living room, he didn’t see President Yan’s figure.

“Huh?” Zhou Ziyi was curious. After all, President Yan adjusted to the time difference very quickly, and in the past few days, his schedule had been almost like a regular workday. Now it was past nine, and there was no one in the public areas of the villa. Could it be that he had gone out?

Zhou Ziyi strolled outside the villa and looked around, but he didn’t see Yan Xiuzhi. After a moment’s thought, he turned back to the villa and went to the door of the master bedroom.

He knocked on the door, “President Yan? Ge?”

After a few seconds, the door to the master bedroom opened.

“You… Ge?” Zhou Ziyi and Yan Xiuzhi were both stunned when they saw each other. “Why are you wearing sunglasses inside the room?”

Yan Xiuzhi, with a cool demeanor, stood at the door wearing black sunglasses and said lightly, “…It’s nothing.”

“But you…” Zhou Ziyi started to say.

Yan Xiuzhi’s face turned slightly, “…I was just coming back to the room to get something. I was outside just now, and I couldn’t be bothered to take off the sunglasses when I came back.”

Zhou Ziyi felt doubtful, but before he could react, Yan Xiuzhi sidestepped him and went out.

As soon as Zhou Ziyi called “brother,” Yan Xiuzhi said without looking back: “I’ve had breakfast, don’t worry about me. I have a meeting, so don’t look for me.”

Zhou Ziyi watched Yan Xiuzhi walk out and sat down in the pavilion next to the swimming pool, squinting his eyes.

After finishing breakfast, Zhou Ziyi ordered a fruit plate and went out with it.

Yan Xiuzhi sat in the pavilion, with his back to the villa and the swimming pool. Because he had said earlier that he was going to have a meeting, Zhou Ziyi didn’t dare to approach him directly from behind. Instead, he circled around and cautiously approached Mr. Yan from a place where the front camera couldn’t capture him.

In Yan Xiuzhi’s eyes, it was as if Zhou Ziyi had appeared out of nowhere, carrying a fruit plate and sneakily approaching.

At first, Mr. Yan wanted to pretend he hadn’t seen anything, but as he watched Zhou Ziyi getting closer, he couldn’t help but say, “What are you sneaking around for?”

“Ah, can you talk to me?” Zhou Ziyi slid over to the other side of his table and placed the fruit plate on his table. “Are you having a meeting now?”

Yan Xiuzhi felt that he had asked a silly question, “If I were in a meeting, would I be chatting with you now?”
“Oh, okay.” Zhou Ziyi asked again, “Since you haven’t turned on the camera, can I go swimming in the pool behind you?”

Yan Xiuzhi didn’t think much, “Sure.”

Zhou Ziyi grinned and then took off his shirt on the spot!

Yan Xiuzhi: “What are you doing?!”

“Huh? I’m going swimming, is it normal to take off clothes?” Zhou Ziyi said as he was untying his pants and walking towards the direction of the swimming pool, passing by Yan Xiuzhi. “We’re all guys, what’s there to be shy about, hahaha…”

Yan Xiuzhi couldn’t bear to watch and turned his head away.

Zhou Ziyi walked lightly, seemingly heading towards the swimming pool. But just when Yan Xiuzhi thought he had already walked past, a sudden change occurred!

Zhou Ziyi reached out and directly grabbed the frame of President Yan’s glasses from behind, then lifted them off!

“You…!” Yan Xiuzhi was startled and instinctively turned to grab them. As a result, this directly hit Zhou Ziyi’s lower abdomen, and the two met eye to eye.

Zhou Ziyi was surprised, “Ge, your eyes are so red!”

Yan Xiuzhi snatched his glasses back, “…It’s nothing.”

“This doesn’t seem like nothing!” Zhou Ziyi squatted in front of him, as if he wanted to see the truth, “Ge, are your eyes inflamed? Or was it when you opened your eyes underwater the other day?”

“It’s nothing.” Yan Xiuzhi calmly put on his sunglasses, “I’m using eye drops, it will be fine in a couple of days.”

“No, you can’t be so casual, Ge! These are your eyes!” Zhou Ziyi stood up abruptly, “I’ll go call the hotel to prepare a car, we’ll go to the hospital!”

Yan Xiuzhi couldn’t stop him, and as he watched him run off in a hurry, he instinctively blurted out, “You’re still wearing swimming trunks!”

“Hey, I was just joking with you!”
Without looking back, Zhou Ziyi threw out this line and rushed into the living room.
