Chapter 058 Reconciliation
Jing Li ran out of the dormitory without thinking. The art building was right next to their dormitory. Earlier, Jing Ran had made up a ghost story about the art building and told it to Jing Li. Even though she knew it was fake, Jing Li was still a little scared.
Because on weekends, the art building was silent and pitch black, giving off an eerie feeling.
Li Ruihua sent a text message: [Room 608.]
The 6th floor was the top floor, and the last time Jing Ran mentioned the ghost story was about the top floor. Jing Li was somewhat afraid. Not only was she afraid of ghosts, but she was also afraid of the dark, fearing that there might be a pervert lurking inside.
Li Ruihua sent another text message: [Have you arrived? The top student in the university actually kissed the junior girl!]
Jing Li looked at the words on the screen and exploded with anger.
Kiss?
The two of them hadn’t kissed in two weeks, and now the little prince couldn’t resist his lonely heart and went to kiss a junior???
Jing Li took a deep breath and rushed into the art building. The stairs of the art building were equipped with sound-controlled lights. Each step automatically lit up. Even though there was light accompanying her, she still felt a little scared because the silent staircase only had the sound of her own footsteps and breathing.
However, thinking that Jing Ran had “cheated,” made her even more furious. She hadn’t even mentioned breaking up, how could he go and find a junior?
Jing Li reached the 6th floor, the entire floor was pitch black except for the classroom at the end of the corridor, where the light was on.
Jing Li didn’t see Li Ruihua and didn’t know where she was hiding. She sent a message to her: [Ruihua, where are you?]
At the end of the corridor, guitar music could be heard, and the song being played was quite smooth. Jing Li thought about Jing Ran and the junior kissing in the classroom, and he was even playing the guitar?
So romantic!
Why didn’t she get treated like this when she was with him?
The more Jing Li thought about it, the angrier she became, and she walked heavily towards the end of the corridor.
Jing Li walked into room 608 and rudely pushed the door open. Inside was a not-so-big room with a filing cabinet, a piano, a wooden stool, and a music stand. Jing Ran was standing in front of the music stand with a guitar in his hand.
Jing Ran was concentrating on practicing the music when he was suddenly interrupted. He looked up in surprise and asked, “Lili, what are you doing here?”
The room was just that one room, with few things in it, and besides Jing Ran, there was no one else.
“Where’s the junior?” Jing Li came over to “catch them in the act,” but ended up chasing away one of the parties involved.
Jing Ran was puzzled, “Junior? Who?”
Jing Li asked back, “Didn’t you bring a junior here?”
Jing Ran shook his head.
“Bang!” The door to the room closed.
Jing Li was so scared that she hugged Jing Ran and screamed, “Ghost!”
Jing Ran, not as timid, held onto Jing Li with one hand and walked over to the door, twisting the doorknob and locking it.
Jing Ran said calmly, “It’s locked.”
Jing Li was very timid, and her whole body was trembling in Jing Ran’s arms: “How did it get locked?”
“Ding!”
Jing Li’s phone rang, and she took it out to see that it was a text message from Li Ruihua: [Spend a good time with the university top student!]
Jing Li felt like crying without tears, feeling betrayed by her roommate. She scrolled up on the phone screen and then looked back. The clothes worn by the guy inside the photo were different from what Jing Ran was wearing now. The guy inside was wearing a red checkered short-sleeved shirt, while Jing Ran was wearing a plain white T-shirt.
However, that checkered short-sleeved shirt was purchased by Jing Li through someone else, so logically, it shouldn’t have clashed with someone else’s outfit. The “little prince” really hugged another junior girl!!!
Jing Li clicked on the large image, held the phone screen towards Jing Ran, and asked, “Is this you?”
Jing Ran took a look and said, “No, it’s not me, it’s Wenbin.”
“Wenbin?” Jing Li took back her phone, staring at the guy on the screen with wide eyes. Li Ruihua had just said it was Jing Ran, and coincidentally he was wearing a red checkered shirt. Without much thought, Jing Li assumed that this person was Jing Ran. The lighting wasn’t very good, his hair was dark and hard to tell if it was pure black or chestnut; the shoes the guy was wearing were also not Jing Ran’s shoes… In fact, there were numerous mistakes, but Jing Li was too impatient to notice that this guy wasn’t Jing Ran.
“In the afternoon, Wenbin came to my dorm. He said he had a date with Zhenzhen. He came back from the outside and got all sweaty. He borrowed the bathroom to shower, and even borrowed my clothes,” Jing Ran explained again. “The person in the photo is Zhenzhen, she changed her hairstyle these past two days.”
The message is too explosive. Is Chen Wenbin really with Fang Zhenzhen? Jing Li asked, “When did Chen Wenbin get together with Zhenzhen?”
Jing Ran shrugged, indicating that he didn’t know.
Jing Li was lured over here by her roommate, and she couldn’t get angry even if she wanted to. She’s still locked in this room. Jing Ran’s eyes were sharper, and he saw the chat page with a small picture that Jing Li clicked on, with three voice messages and three text messages.
Room 608.
Have you arrived? The top student actually kissed the junior girl!
Have a good time with the top student!
Jing Ran remembered when Jing Li came in rudely earlier and asked where the junior girl was. It didn’t feel good to be suspected, so he asked, “Lili, do you think I’m the kind of person who would hang out with an elementary school girl?”
“I…” Jing Li was angry just now, and she never expected that someone as stubborn and honest as Jing Ran would do such a thing.
“I’m sorry…” Jing Li apologized with her head down.
“I’m also at fault. Can we cancel each other out and start over?” Jing Ran held her hands and lifted them, then kissed the back of her hand.
Jing Li hesitated and didn’t answer. Jing Ran turned to pick up the guitar, saying, “I’ve been practicing a song these days. I plan to invite you out tomorrow and sing it to you. I don’t know if you’ll forgive me after hearing it.”
Jing Li stood aside, watching Jing Ran play the guitar, and the familiar prelude started, a song she didn’t recognize.
Jing Ran opened his mouth and sang, his voice soft and clear:
One only knows how to cherish after losing
But I cherish you
The deeper the pain, the deeper the love
I don’t believe…
Jing Ran blinked as he looked at Jing Li, his eyes showing some affection. With a smile on his lips, he continued to sing and play the guitar:
I hold you tightly in my arms
Cradle you in my hands
It’s you who I truly love
In the pure world of love
You are my only…
Jing Li had heard Jing Ran sing before, and it was especially pleasant. Whenever Jing Li was bored, she would always ask Jing Ran to sing a song for her. Little princess would proudly say that without accompaniment, singing didn’t feel the same.
Although Jing Ran’s guitar playing was somewhat fluent, it still felt a bit unskilled, perhaps because he had only recently learned how to play well. Jing Li thought that Jing Ran was an honest and kind person, very reliable. Sometimes she would complain that he was unromantic and not good at expressing himself, but when he spoke sweet words or did romantic things, it would catch her off guard.
…You are the only one I love
Truly, it’s you I love
The deeply affectionate words came to an end.
Jing Ran stopped strumming the guitar and looked up at Jing Li.
After listening, Jing Li smiled, her eyes like a crescent moon, shining brightly: “It’s beautiful. Let’s make up and start anew.”
Upon hearing Jing Li’s forgiveness, Jing Ran also smiled.
The two of them looked at each other and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
The two of them were locked in a small room and feeling a bit bored. Jing Ran and Jing Li sat on the only bench in the room. In fact, they didn’t need to stay overnight here. At 10 p.m., there would be a security guard making rounds. If they saw the light on here, they would come and open the door for them. But it was only a little past 8 p.m. now, and Jing Li’s phone didn’t have much battery left, so she couldn’t watch the TV series she had saved.
Jing Li and Jing Ran sat back to back, leaning on each other. Jing Li was a bit bored and asked, “Ranran, can you play other songs?”
“I only know one for now.”
“Did you learn it yourself?”
“Yeah.”
“Awesome. Then sing it again for me.”
“I won’t sing. My throat has been hurting from practicing these past few days.”
Jing Li: “…”
Proud and willful!
Little prince!
Jing Li turned around, facing Jing Ran’s back, and said, “Ranran, I’ll sing a song for you too.”
Jing Ran turned around and looked at her, asking, “You can sing?”
Jing Li: “…”
Singing is just singing. Who can’t do it? The difference lies in whether it sounds good or not.
In front of them was a piano. Jing Li opened the piano cover and skillfully found a few crucial keys.
Jing Li unexpectedly knew how to play the piano, and she looked very professional.
“Do!” Jing Li pressed a key and began to play while singing,
Two tigers, two tigers, run fast, run fast…
Jing Ran, with an expressionless face, looked at Jing Li, who looked like a superstar singing and playing the piano, singing the famous song “Two Tigers.”
She even changed the lyrics:
…both are male, both are male, how strange, how strange.
After playing and singing twice, Jing Li looked at Jing Ran, who was watching her silently, without giving her any face. She chuckled and said, “Just practicing my piano skills, the next part is a bit more challenging…”
Jing Li played and sang again,
The little girl picking mushrooms, carrying a big bamboo basket…
Jing Ran probably knew her level and guessed that she had learned to play the piano for a while when she was young, and they were all simple children’s songs.
After Jing Li finished singing, she looked at Jing Ran with an expectant expression and asked, “Ranran, what do you think?”
Jing Ran nodded and replied, “Very good.”
Jing Li proudly said, “You see, I can sing and play more songs than you.”
Jing Ran pursed his lips and did not comment.
Jing Li could tell that Jing Ran found her songs childish.
Jing Ran thought for a moment and said, “Lili, I can teach you how to sing.”
Jing Li: “…”
Haha, not humble at all!
The two of them played the guitar and the piano, and before they knew it, it was already 10 o’clock. The security guard came to patrol the building on time, opened the door, and asked, “Why aren’t you going back yet? Leave quickly, the main gate will be locked soon.”
Jing Li and Jing Ran left the art building hand in hand. Jing Li had hurried out earlier and forgotten to take her keys, so she couldn’t get into the dormitory. The dormitory’s matron was nowhere to be found, and Jing Ran and Jing Li stood in the duty room for a long time without seeing the matron.
Jing Ran didn’t know how long they would have to wait, so he suggested, “Lili, let’s sleep outside tonight.”
