Chapter 059 Small hotel

Jing Ran suggested, “Lili, let’s sleep outside tonight.”

Jing Li was somewhat distressed. The summer temperature was high, and it was uncomfortable to not take a shower at night, with clothes sticking to the body. If they were to spend the night at a small hotel, she would have no clothes to change into. “I picked it up a day early… Hey, wait, how did you know I was supposed to pick up the cake on the 20th? Did you rummage through my handbag?” Jing Li asked, a little annoyed.

“It fell out, and I happened to see it,” Jing Ran replied.

Jing Li glanced at Jing Ran, looking at his earnest and sincere face, and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

“I’ll take it.” Jing Ran took the cake box from her hand and, holding Jing Li’s hand with his other hand, first went to the boys’ dormitory to get changed clothes, and then to a small hotel near the school.

Jing Li and Jing Ran came to the small hotel they had visited last time. The last time they came was on a school day. Not many students came to the small hotel on school days. There were two young couples checking in at the front desk. Jing Li and Jing Ran were probably the better-looking couple, and several tenants at the front desk turned their attention to them.

They are probably classmates from the same school.

She took a piece of cake on a paper plate and sat in the middle of the bed with a fork, watching TV. Jing Ran sat behind her, holding her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder, and watching the variety show with her.

Jing Li was afraid of gaining weight, so she didn’t eat much cake. After taking a few bites, she fed the rest to Jing Ran. While laughing at the TV, she used the fork to raise the cake towards him, and he took bites as she moved it around.

Jing Ran wasn’t satisfied after eating a few bites because Jing Li was too focused on the TV and not feeding him properly!

He complained, “Lili, it’s hard for me to eat like this!”

“Oh!” Jing Li listened but kept her eyes on the TV. She put the fork in the cake, pushed the plate back, and said, “Eat it yourself!” Then she continued watching TV without looking at Jing Ran.

With a helpless look, Jing Ran took the plate and looked at the cake, then at Jing Li who was enjoying the variety show.

‘How can I get my girlfriend’s attention on me?’

Jing Ran put the paper plate on the bedside table, took a quick glance at Jing Li, and lay down on the bed, pretending to moan softly, “Lili…”

Jing Li didn’t turn around and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Seeing that Jing Li didn’t even turn her head, Jing Ran thought that his voice wasn’t pitiful enough. He added a few more acting skills and called out Jing Li’s nickname with a hoarse voice, “Lili…”

Just then, a commercial break interrupted. Jing Li turned around and saw Jing Ran curling up in bed, clutching his stomach. She nervously asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Feeling somewhat guilty, Jing Ran didn’t want to lie to Jing Li, but he had already started, so he had to continue pretending, “My stomach hurts…”

“Stomach ache? How did this happen? Is it because of the cake?” Jing Li lifted up Jing Ran’s pajamas and felt around his stomach, stopping above his stomach and asking, “Is it here?”

Hearing that she was going to take medicine, Jing Ran quickly grabbed Jing Li’s hand, not letting her leave the bed, and said, “My stomach doesn’t hurt anymore, there’s no need to get the medicine.”

Jing Li knew that Jing Ran was afraid of taking medicine, so how could she believe him when he said he was fine? With her other hand, she pried open Jing Ran’s hand and said, “Stop pretending. Later, you’ll be in pain all night, and I’ll have to massage your stomach.”

Jing Ran suddenly felt like he had dropped a stone on his own foot.
Jing Li went out for a moment and quickly returned with a small bottle of medicine and a bottle of mineral water. She first unscrewed the cap of the medicine bottle and handed it to Jing Ran, then unscrewed the cap of the water bottle and passed it to his other hand.

“Take the medicine!” Jing Li urged Jing Ran when she saw him hesitating.

The medicine was a common household remedy, useful for colds, headaches, stomach aches, and even had a dampness-expelling effect. Even if there was no illness or pain, taking it wouldn’t hurt. Jing Ran just didn’t like the small round pills filling up the small bottle, emitting a bitter herbal scent, and he didn’t like the taste either.

Jing Li showed impatience, “Hurry up!”

Who asked him to feign illness? If Jing Li knew the truth, she would probably be angry. In the end, Jing Ran chose not to explain, swallowed the medicine, and gulped down the water.

She threw away half of the cake in the trash, turned off the TV, tidied up the bed, and got ready for bed. Having just taken the medicine, Jing Ran felt a nauseating sensation in his mouth and ran to the bathroom to vomit into the toilet. Hearing the sound of vomiting from the room, Jing Li hurriedly ran into the bathroom and saw Jing Ran had thrown up both the medicine and the cake.
