Question: What is it like to interact with someone with low emotional intelligence?
Answer: It’s like forgiving them 800 times a minute. [Smile]
Source: Internet.
“Lili, are you on your period?”
Jing Li blushed. How could a guy be so straightforward in public and ask a girl if she’s on her period?!
This is asking for trouble!
“Jing Ran!” Jing Li was almost in tears because of him.
This guy told his roommate that he wasn’t pursuing her, and now everyone knows that she confessed. She felt so embarrassed. With so many people at school knowing her, she felt like she had lost face and couldn’t fit in anymore.
Jing Ran looked at her teary eyes, feeling a bit panicked and unsure of what to do.
“Are you feeling unwell? Let me take you to the school clinic,” Jing Ran turned his back to Jing Li and crouched down, saying, “Climb on my back, I’ll carry you there.”
“I’m fine, you can stand up,” Jing Li said while taking out a tissue packet from her small bag and wiping her tears with a tissue.
“Why are you crying then?”
Jing Li didn’t answer his question and spoke in a consultative tone, saying, “Jing Ran, from now on, when someone asks you who pursued whom between us, please answer that you pursued me, okay?”
“Why?”
“Because I’m a girl, and I’m sensitive. If people know that I pursued you, they will laugh at me…” Jing Li lowered her head and tugged at the hem of her hoodie, hoping that Jing Ran would agree to her proposal.
Jing Ran was always honest in his speech, and he wasn’t good at lying, so he needed guidance from others. “Then how did I pursue you?”
“You can say that you find me beautiful, that I have a good character, and that you persistently pursued me until I agreed.” After saying these words, Jing Li suddenly felt embarrassed about herself.
Jing Ran remembered how Jing Li picked up his books for him in the library and her charming and friendly smile. He nodded and agreed, “Well, you are indeed beautiful, and you have a good character.”
Hearing the praise from the Top student. Jing Li couldn’t help but blush, feeling her cheeks warming up.
“I’m hungry, let’s go to the cafeteria!” Jing Li took a step ahead, creating some distance between her and Jing Ran. She cupped her heated face with her cold hands and muttered, “I’m going to die, why are you so shy!”
The two of them arrived at the cafeteria, and Jing Ran asked Jing Li to find a seat while he went to get the food. Jing Li remembered the experience with the mix pork noodles in the morning and decided not to say the word “Anything” anymore. She handed her meal card to Jing Ran and said, “I want tomato scrambled eggs and braised lotus root with soybeans.”
“Not eating meat?”
“No, I don’t want to gain weight.”
Jing Ran with a serious look, explained scientifically: “If you don’t eat meat for a long time, your immune system will weaken, and collagen will be lost, leading to premature aging…”
“Give me an extra portion of chicken with mushrooms!” Upon hearing the word “aging,” Jing Li immediately ordered an additional dish.
“Okay,” Jing Ran nodded with satisfaction and went to the counter to place the order.
Jing Li chose a seat not too far from the cafeteria’s television. She sat down and watched many boys sitting there eating. The TV was hanging in the air, and everyone was eating while looking up at it.
The TV was broadcasting a live basketball international match, with score information displayed below, showing the national team against an Asian country. The boys became more and more excited as they watched:
“Shoot, shoot, shoot… Dammit, it missed again!”
“Pass the ball, hurry up! Dammit, you’re like a log…”
“Run faster… Ah… Ah, they scored, they scored…”
…
Jing Li couldn’t understand why the boys were so passionate about basketball, why they got so excited watching a basketball game. She raised her head and looked at the TV. Her eyesight was good, so even from a distance, she could clearly see the people on the screen. It happened to be halftime, and the camera just captured Lin Suirong, standing out among the basketball players with his height, wiping his sweat with the white towel handed to him by his teammate.
There were also some girls in the cafeteria watching the basketball game, getting infatuated, saying, “Lin Suirong is so handsome!”
After a short break, the game continued, and Lin Suirong went back on the court. The girls couldn’t help but scream, “Wow… Ah… Lin Suirong…”
The boys looked at the infatuated girls with disdain and said, “Tsk.”
It must be said that Lin Suirong had some skills. He made a three-point shot within less than a minute after entering the court.
At this moment, the boys in the cafeteria became excited again as the national team took a three-point lead.
Jing Ran held two trays in his hands, keeping them stable as he placed them on the table. Following Jing Li’s gaze towards the TV, he asked, “Do you like watching basketball games?”
Jing Li noticed that Jing Ran had returned and replied, “Not really.”
“Oh,” Jing Ran sat down and pushed a tray to Jing Li.
“Thank you.” Jing Li saw Jing Ran ordering the dishes as she had suggested and picked up her chopsticks to start eating.
The two of them ate their meals in silence. Jing Li felt a bit bored and tried to find a topic. Looking at the TV, she said, “The one playing basketball is from our class.”
“From your class?” Jing Ran was a bit confused and asked, “Your former classmate?”
“No, no, no. He’s a classmate from the hotel management department,” Jing Li explained, then realized something was off and asked, “You don’t know him?”
Jing Ran calmly replied, “I don’t know him.”
Jing Li was surprised. How could someone in school not know Lin Suirong? She continued, “He’s Lin Suirong, the one who’s over two meters tall, a national team basketball player. He often appears in newspapers!”
Jing Ran still shook his head.
Can I tell her that he didn’t know that the beauty queen of the Management Department was Jing Li until his junior year?
“Jing Ran, what era are you living in?”
Dressing so plainly and not keeping up with current events…
“Lili, didn’t we agree that you would call me Ran Ran?” Jing Ran is insistent on being called by a nickname.
“Ran Ran.”
“Yeah.”
So childish!
“Ran Ran, He(Lin Suirong) is pursuing me and confessing to me every week.” Jing Li suddenly wants to see how Jing Ran will react.
“Yeah.” Jing Ran’s calm demeanour is like a lake water, without creating any ripples.
Jing Li curiously asks, “Don’t you mind?”
Jing Ran raises his head and asks in confusion, “Lili, aren’t we dating?”
Such a broad-minded heart…
