Chapter 92 1/2
“Cen Lang sensed the impending pheromone storm during the decisive battle. Originally in complete control, he made a quick decision to opt for the apparent ‘mutual destruction.’ After swiftly destroying the enemy warships, he leaped into the hibernation chamber, along with half of the Baiyan warship disintegrating and ejecting.
Upon entering the hibernation chamber, his nerves relaxed, and sure enough, a headache ensued.
On the third day, Lu Jing found the hibernation chamber, but the scan revealed that the person inside was in a dormant state, yet exuding pheromones like a susceptible period, with extremely aggressive properties.
The space force was at a loss, unsure of how to proceed, until the Cen family sent a specialized transport machine to bring the hibernation chamber back to Earth.
Lu Jing escorted Cen Lang to the underground city without hesitation, enduring the pain from Cen Lang’s pheromone attack, and placed the hibernation chamber in the underground city.
A specialist doctor concluded that Cen Lang’s condition was due to recent lack of rest and should be able to regain self-control after a good sleep.
Lu Jing opened the hibernation chamber, administered painkillers to Cen Lang, and left, completely unaware that his son had come in right after him.
Leaving the underground city well past midnight, there were already Cen family bodyguards around. Only after Lu Jing completed the secret escort did he send a message to Jiang Wanlan: ‘I’ve arrived on Earth, heading home soon.’
No one knew that Jiang Li stayed out all night.
Cen Lang woke up at noon the next day, finding himself lying on the ground, rubbing his face.
Seriously, Jiang Li, at eighteen, not only forgot his birthday, but also nearly turned it into fireworks.
He did sense being taken to the underground city, including Lu Jing giving him painkillers. If it weren’t for a trusted teammate, how could he easily take them?
Then later… later, the pain seemed to ease, and he fell asleep.
As Cen Lang walked out, he pondered what the outside world was saying. He instructed his subordinates that if any accidents occurred during the operation, they should keep it from Jiang Li until there was no other choice.
In other words, unless he was dead, keep it quiet.
Jiang Li had never experienced life and death. How could Cen Lang bear to let him experience it here?
No matter what, he wouldn’t be completely dead. He would wake up and personally greet Jiang Li, who hadn’t seen him in a long time.
Leaving the underground city, Cen Lang asked the guards at the gate.
Wang Wang assured him, ‘The information is tightly sealed, and Lu Jing won’t say anything. Unless Jiang Li disappears completely, he won’t know anything.’
Cen Lang nodded. ‘Well done.’
Cen Lang went back, took a shower, changed into new clothes, and immediately went to find Jiang Li.
There were videos in the space force, but it had been a solid year and a half since he’d seen him in person.
He almost forgot what it felt like to pinch Jiang Li’s cheeks.
The Jiang family’s morning was quiet. The newlywed dad didn’t get up early, and Jiang Li, who had an excellent routine, didn’t either.
The family of three didn’t meet in the kitchen until ten o’clock, tacitly not asking each other why they were up so late.
Jiang Wanlan drank milk and caught sight of Jiang Li looking a bit tired out of the corner of her eye. Suddenly blushing, could it be that she woke Jiang Li up? That shouldn’t be the case, right? The soundproofing at home was very good.
Jiang Wanlan whispered, ‘Darling, didn’t sleep well last night?’
Jiang Li felt slightly guilty. ‘It’s fine.’
He couldn’t just say he hadn’t slept, because Dad came back in the wee hours, and if he hadn’t slept, he would have gone out to greet him.
‘I slept very well.’
Jiang Wanlan: ‘…’
He was lying.

Jiang Li asked Lu Jing, ‘Dad, is Cen Lang back?’
Lu Jing: ‘He’s back.’
Jiang Li: ‘Where is he?’
Lu Jing: ‘I don’t know, there are other matters to attend to.’
Jiang Li guessed that Lu Jing had sent Cen Lang to the underground city last night. His sense of smell was very keen, able to detect the faint pheromones left by Dad.
Jiang Li: ‘Dad, what were you and Cen Lang doing in space these days?’
Lu Jing: ‘Clearing the battlefield, recovering and disposing of disintegrated warships to prevent disrupting the flight routes.’
Jiang Li: ‘Isn’t it similar to collecting scrap?’
Lu Jing: ‘Yeah.’
Jiang Li was puzzled. ‘Do you and Cen Lang need to do this for collecting scrap?’
He had studied military affairs before. For post-war cleanup like this, there were specialized departments responsible with clear division of labor.
Cough. Cen Lang swaggered in, ‘Because there’s important junk to pick up.’
Jiang Li looked up at Cen Lang. The underground city was very dark, and he hadn’t looked carefully. In the past year or so, Cen Lang hadn’t changed much. His sharpness in the space force was automatically restrained in front of Jiang Li, becoming a very attractive Alpha demeanor.
Judging from his tone and demeanor when he mentioned ‘important junk,’ Jiang Li concluded that he was the junk himself.
So Cen Lang’s warship disintegrated during the decisive battle, encountered a pheromone storm, briefly lost contact, and Dad went to fetch him?
Such a thrilling event was casually mentioned by Cen Lang.
Jiang Li smiled, ‘I waited for you all morning.’
Cen Lang: ‘There are some confidential matters to deal with, sorry. I’ll be with you from now on, okay?’
Jiang Li: ‘Not okay, I’m going to the lab.’
Last night, he learned more about Cen Lang’s pheromone storm and had new directions for drug experiments.
Cen Lang: ‘It’s still winter vacation, don’t work too hard.’
Jiang Li had made up his mind, and Cen Lang wouldn’t see him the next day.
Cen Lang frowned. Without Jiang Li, this vacation was tasteless. And he’d have to listen to the old man nagging about blind dates when he got home.
Cen’s parents wanted to solve the problem with scientific technology, but they weren’t pharmacists. It wasn’t easy to resort to temporary measures.
Cen Lang comforted his parents, ‘You may not be able to develop drugs, but you can research pheromone isolation bracelets or something. If I wear pheromones, it won’t affect Jiang Li.’
Cen’s father and mother: ‘Bracelets aren’t enough, you need to cover your whole body.’
Cen Lang: ‘Like giving me a shock…’
Cen’s father: ‘That’s inhumane.’
Cen’s mother: ‘Do you want to see a psychologist?’
