Chapter 109 2/2
Jiang Wangxing: “Uncle, why are you crying?”
Cen Lang was confident. Kid, don’t call me uncle; call me grandpa.
Jiang Wanlan wiped away his tears. “I’m fine; I just miss your dad.”
Jiang Wangxing: “Me too!”
Cen Lang hurried over, and before Lu Jing could hold the child, he picked him up first.
He said the child was his, taking advantage of the Jiang Doctor’s inability to reach him. Who knew he might be caught red-handed by the potential dad?
The situation was not optimistic. Every second of holding the child was precious. Once Jiang Wanlan knew he was the stepdad, he wouldn’t get a chance to hold him.
Cen Lang not only loved the house but also genuinely fulfilled his responsibility as the child’s biological father.
Jiang Wanlan quietly sought Cen Lang’s opinion: “Can I meet the child’s father?”
Cen Lang, without any official status, felt a bit guilty. “Jiang Li is still at work in the research institute, with two more hours until he gets off.”
Jiang Wanlan reassured him, “It’s okay; we’ll wait for him at the institute gate without disturbing his work.”
Cen Lang regretted not thoroughly investigating Jiang Li’s past, only asking about his marital status at the research institute.
If Jiang Li was Jiang Wanlan’s child, how did he manage to live without his dad?
Cen Lang’s mood sank. “If Mr. Jiang trusts me, there are two hours left. A cross-generational DNA test would be perfect. If not, we don’t need to disturb Jiang Li.”
He took the child out, not willing to let others easily test the child’s DNA. Only he could do it.
Jiang Wanlan agreed.
He and Lu Jing plucked out some hair and handed it to Cen Lang.
Cen Lang vigorously rubbed the child’s head, plucked two hairs, and handed them over to Wang Wang. “You go and test them.”
Wang Wang hesitated, sneakily eyeing Cen Lang’s head. Can you also do one?
Jiang Doctor noticed the hint and said to Cen Lang, “Why don’t you go?”
Wang Wang knew that Cen Lang still had to assert his authority in front of Mr. Jiang. Standing here, he acted as an invisible threshold. Mr. Jiang wouldn’t confront Jiang Li directly.
Such important matters as acknowledging paternity should be handled carefully, not taken lightly.
Wang Wang couldn’t get Cen Lang’s hair in person, but as a diligent bodyguard, how could he not have access to other samples for testing?
Wang Wang directly handed over four samples: Cen Lang’s, Mr. Jiang’s, Lu Jing’s, and the child’s, discreetly accomplishing his task.
Two hours later, everyone gathered at the gate of the research institute.
Cen Lang sent a message to Jiang Li, asking, “Are you about to get off work? I’ll bring the kid to pick you up.”
Five minutes later, Jiang Li replied with a simple “Yes.”
A simple “yes,” and three pairs of eyes eagerly gathered to look.
Cen Lang cleared his throat and patted the child sleeping on his shoulder.
“Sir!” Wang Wang jumped down from the aircraft, handing over a sealed document as if it were a top-secret federal document that could only be opened by the highest military commander and supervised by a first-level military commander.
I felt nervous. He wanted to hold the child, so he asked Cen Lang to focus on opening the file, but he was afraid that he might not be stable due to his emotional excitement.
The only outsider, Wang Wang, played a huge role. “Let me hold the young master!”
Cen Lang handed the child to him.
Wang Wang tore open the envelope directly; inside were only two sheets of paper. In his haste, he accidentally tore the envelope too much, removing part of the header.
He was reckless.
Cen Lang reflected on his actions; fortunately, there were only names and procedures written on it; the results were at the bottom.
They just needed to look at the results.
【Supports biological paternity.】
Cen Lang and Lu Jing restrained their expressions, their eyes falling directly on each other—was this his future father-in-law or potential son-in-law?
Instead of the two Alphas competing with each other, Jiang Wanlan, the most cultured among them, suddenly noticed something was wrong before tears could flow.
“Wait a minute, paternity means the relationship between father and son!”
They were testing for grandfather-grandson!
Cen Lang’s face changed suddenly. Was his number one rival appearing?!
There was a biological father for this child here!
No, no, neither Lu Jing nor Jiang Wanlan could be possible.
Cen Lang mechanically flipped the page, and there was another page below, stating, 【Supports triparental cross-generational relationships.】
It was a false alarm.
Geez.
Jiang Wanlan closed his eyes. Why did you mix up in the paternity test with you and the child? Were you trying to show your father-in-law who’s boss?
Cen Lang suddenly felt his heart beating fast. The second sheet was supposed to be for Jiang Wanlan and the child, but who were the two in the first paternity test?
Lu Jing lowered his head and saw Cen Lang’s name on the torn paper on the ground.
Cen Lang saw it too, his mind short-circuiting: “I can’t possibly be your son, can I?”
A blank expression appeared on Lu Jing’s face momentarily. He didn’t think Jiang Baobao could grow up to look like Cen Lang.
Lu Jing: “Nonsense.”
He bent down to pick up the piece of paper, and he saw a few more words clearly.
【Father: Cen Lang, Son: Jiang Wangxing】.
Cen Lang was listed as the father!
