Chapter 111 1/2
“Jiang Li couldn’t speak; after all, he hadn’t yet familiarised himself with his father well enough to analyse the reasons for their impotence. He read a passage from a document containing a large number of nouns without any fluctuations in his tone.
Jiang Wanlan seemed to be listening to some kind of hearing.
Fortunately, he often attended meetings and heard reports in various languages. Moreover, he had spent some time in a sanatorium due to gland problems before, so he was not unfamiliar with medical terms.
“Baby, are you saying that your pheromones have inhibitory effects, and the effect on Alpha is stronger than Omega?”
“Um.”
Jiang Wanlan suddenly stood up and said, “Baby, I’ll be right back.”
Jiang Wanlan seemed as if he had just discovered that Omega, whom Lu Jing liked, was him. He forgot the twenty years in between and ran to him in a cheerful tone, “Lu Jing! I found out the reason for your impotence!”
His voice didn’t contain any restraint, and both Jiang Li and the workers at home heard it.
Rushing to Lu Jing, Jiang Wanlan felt a bit embarrassed and stopped his steps. He scratched the back of his neck, realising that the cause of impotence might be various, both external and internal.
Lu Jing asked calmly, “What’s the reason?”
“Because of our baby,” Jiang Wanlan lowered his voice. “His pheromones are inhibitory and odourless, and he’s in his sensitive period recently.”
Lu Jing listened to the volume that wasn’t much louder than a mosquito, silent. When it came to his impotence, it could be shouted out, but when it came to his son’s pheromones, it had to be whispered.
He understood what Jiang Wanlan meant. Last night, due to his own reasons, he didn’t know how to explain. Looking at Jiang Wanlan’s smile for finding the crux, Lu Jing couldn’t help but say, “I still like you as before.”
No, even more than before, because after so many years, he had to cherish the rest of his life more.
Jiang Wanlan’s eyes were very beautiful, looking at Lu Jing steadily. He felt that his emotions were still breaking through under Jiang Li’s powerful pheromones—pure infatuation.
“I do too,” Jiang Wanlan said.
In theory, they should move on to the next step now.
But the conditions didn’t allow it.
Being away from Jiang Baby could speed up recovery, but there were eyes watching outside.
The two dads had to talk about Cen Lang instead: “Does the baby’s pheromones have no effect on Cen Lang?”
Jiang Wanlan slightly widened his eyes, first delighted that their baby had biochemical weapons, then thinking of the complete matching mechanism of pheromones. Cen Lang and Jiang Li were immune to each other’s pheromones’ side effects; otherwise, how did the kid come about?
“It seems not,” Jiang Wanlan sighed. “When Cen Lang was suppressing the storm in the dungeon, baby went in as a carer… and then got pregnant, even faster than you.”
In the interstellar era, being a grandparent at the age of fifty was very young, leading a generation ahead of their classmates.
Lu Jing’s dissatisfaction with Cen Lang skyrocketed due to Jiang Wanlan’s unintentional comparison.
Was it a good thing to get pregnant early? But the kid was cute.
Jiang Wangxing was very interested in the identity of his dad’s dad. He hugged Lu Jing’s thighs early in the morning and called out “Grandpa” many times, and sometimes, instead of calling him grandpa, he repeated softly, “You’re my dad’s dad.”
Cen Lang was basking in the glow of it, gaining the identity of “dad” for no reason.
The little kid was sleeping now, and Jiang Li received a message from Cen Lang.
“Can you consider me?”
“I’m good at taking care of children; you can focus on your career.”
Jiang Li rejected the sugar-coated cannonball, saying, “I can handle it alone. He can recognise you, and you can also visit him.”
Cen Lang: “I want to see our son now.”
Jiang Li: “…”
“Then come over.”
Cen Lang immediately prepared the highest standard meeting gift for his interstellar son-in-law to meet his father-in-law, and it took three flying vehicles to fill them all.
One car was filled with toys for the little kid, one car was for the meeting gift for his father-in-law, and one car was for the gift for Jiang Li.
The entrance was piled up like a mountain, and Jiang Wanlan couldn’t keep the door closed to avoid making others laugh. Those who knew thought it was a normal visit, and those who didn’t thought it was an engagement.
Jiang Li lifted the little kid and sat him on the sofa, saying seriously, “Son, Cen Lang is also your dad.”
Jiang Wangxing said, “Do I have another dad now?”
The tone seemed as if the country was assigning dads.
Jiang Li smiled; as long as the little one was happy, he would understand the limited meaning of “dad” when he grew up.
“Yeah, you behaved very well, so we all have two dads.”
“Son.” Cen Lang entered grandly, without any hindrance throughout; as long as he couldn’t understand the expression, he could conquer everything.
“Cen Lang Dad,” the little one greeted fluently.
Fluently to the point that Cen Lang broke out in a cold sweat on his back—fortunately, he was the real dad. If the little one obediently called someone else dad, he would be furious.
Cen Lang went over and picked up his son and said, “Great.”
“Dr. Xiao Jiang, can I tell my family about this?”
If Cen Wei knew there was such a big great-grandson, he’d feel twenty years younger. Their Cen family had never had such a sweet kid. The old man would probably be sweetly bewildered, all thanks to Jiang Li’s good care.
Just thinking about the hardships Jiang Li endured in raising the kid alone, Cen Lang’s feeling of guilt surged. He said he would come to take care of the child, not lying, even if it meant giving up his job in the space fleet.
Obviously, Jiang Li didn’t want to give him this lingering opportunity.
When Cen Lang proposed to come over every day as a nanny, Jiang Li frowned. “Wait, let me discuss it with Dad.”
The living room was spacious; Jiang Li and Cen Lang sat on the sofa, while Jiang Wanlan and Lu Jing pretended to fold green beans at the tea table, but their ears were perked up.
Jiang Li approached the tea table, seeking opinions. “Dad, do you think it’s reasonable for Cen Lang to visit a few times a week?”
With two dads in the house, as the saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and Dad is more than just absent. Jiang Li suggested letting Dad have some alone time during his sensitive period, but Jiang Wanlan stubbornly refused.
Cen Lang always came, disturbing the lives of the two dads.
“Once a week?” Lu Jing asked.
“Yeah,” Jiang Li said.
Jiang Wanlan and Lu Jing glanced at each other. Starting the discussion by the “week,” what other options were there? Wasn’t it too indulgent to allow visits twice a year?
“The child wants to see his dad; he can come anytime; there is no need to limit the number of visits,” Jiang Wanlan said generously.
Cen Lang thought he could manage by taking an inhibitor before he set off, but as soon as he came in, he clearly felt Jiang Li’s pheromones overflowing and increasing.
He took a deep breath. Self-management… Don’t embarrass yourself by meeting the parents.
Failed to manage.
Cen Lang stood up abruptly, went to the tea table where the family of three sat, and placed Jiang Wangxing on Lu Jing’s lap. “Sorry to disturb; my son will play with you, and your son will lend me a moment.”
After saying that, he grabbed Jiang Li’s wrist and hurriedly went upstairs.
Seemingly exchanging sons, but actually an empty-handed trick.
The little one seemed to find it very interesting and agreed first: “Exchange!”
Lu Jing: “WhWho could refuse in front of the kid?
It was Cen Lang’s first visit, but he knew the layout of the Jiang family like the back of his hand.
Taking Jiang Li into the bedroom and closing the door, Cen Lang’s expression was solemn: “Your pheromones are overflowing quite a lot; they may drift outside and cause restlessness in other Alphas.”
Omegas often emit pheromones, and over time, single Alphas would gather around the Jiang household, causing instability.
“No problem,” Jiang Li said.
Cen Lang: “How can there be no problem?”
“My pheromones are special; others will only become impotent when they smell them.” Jiang Li’s gaze lowered, froze, and suddenly his cheeks flushed. “Haven’t your pheromones overflowed outside to harass other Omegas?”
Cen Lang: “Have they? You didn’t react either.”
Jiang Li did react; he had just taken the inhibitor and was fine; his sensitive period was almost over, but as soon as Cen Lang came… Oh no, his pheromones…
