Pheromone Collision
Pheromone Collision Chapter 13.2

Chapter 13 2/2

“He did his first internship under Cen Lang’s leadership. In his combat uniform, he looked sturdy and capable, reassuring to the people.

Jiang Li bit into the crisp and elastic beef ball, his cheek slightly bulging. The current issue was “how to reveal some clues to Cen Lang without revealing too much and risking exposure.”

For example, someone didn’t want Alpha to wake up, and the person who hired him as a caregiver wanted to use pheromones for poisoning.

Cen Lang looked at Jiang Li’s cheek and thought, A little flesh on the face looks good.

“I want another bowl of rice, do you?”

“I’m good,” Jiang Li thought for a moment and continued with the topic, “I just had lunch with my mentor. Jiang’s family hosted, but they discussed business at the table, and I felt awkward eating all the time.”

Cen Lang chuckled. “You can’t tell if you’re not full. It seems they didn’t sincerely invite you.”

Ignoring his words, Jiang Li continued, “During the military archives decryption, they also discussed the pheromone storm syndrome at the dinner table. Jiang Lu, the eldest son of the Jiang family, also served in the space force. What he said differs from the records.”

“He said the pheromone storm is not as magical as it seems, and many people, including him, didn’t benefit from it. I’m curious, which side is true?”

Jiang Li looked at Cen Lang with genuine curiosity, waiting for his answer. This question could probe Cen Lang’s position, and there might be unexpected gains.

Cen Lang asked, “Do you believe him?”

“I believe the school.”

Cen Lang smiled. “I really want to say something bad about him; what should I do?”

“Can’t you say it?”

Cen Lang shrugged. “Of course you can; I’m not censoring. In one military operation, he, relying on his old age, refused to follow orders, causing serious losses, and was expelled from the space force.”

“The commander in that operation was Alpha in the underground city.”

“There’s nothing good about cooperating with the Jiang family; find another one.”

Jiang Li nodded. Cen Lang’s identity was indeed extraordinary; he knew confidential information about high-ranking generals like Jiang Lu.

Cen Lang stretched his eyebrows, and Jiang Li’s trusting look satisfied him. He wanted to say more bad things, but the remaining topics were unappetizing, so he stopped.

“Jiang Lu is fifty, while the Alpha in the underground city is only thirty.”

“Oh.” Jiang Li thought he was explaining that Jiang Lu was relying on his age… Well, fifty was still within the range of youth. Eighty would be considered middle-aged.

Jiang Li asked, “Is the one in the underground city really incurable? With advanced medicine nowadays, even if it’s severe, can’t he go into suspended animation?”

Cen Lang said, “I don’t know. Suspended animation requires a doctor’s operation, and without a doctor nearby, his situation makes suspended animation painful.”

A trace of worry flashed across Jiang Li’s face.

Cen Lang took a sip of tea with pleasure.

“Done eating? I’ll take you back to school.”

Jiang Li didn’t refuse; besides, the other party would continue the investigation.

Back in the lab, before changing clothes, a group of junior sisters surrounded him, excitedly saying, “Senior Brother, someone sent you roses! A big bunch! They’re on your desk, and there’s a card.”

Jiang Li was widely acknowledged in the whole college for being good-looking, but his cold personality, coupled with spending most of his time in the lab with restricted access, made admirers sigh from a distance.

“Next time, if there’s someone sending me flowers, help me reject them.” Jiang Li was puzzled. “How did the flowers get in?”

Military school security was quite strict, and facial recognition was required for entry and exit.

A junior sister raised her hand and said, “Someone called me and asked me to pick them up at the school gate. I thought it was a reagent vendor, so I went out. The person said they had just had lunch with you and the teacher today, wanted to give you a surprise, and also asked me to give a document to the teacher.”

The document was indeed for Wang Xuning, so the junior sister brought the roses in too.

Jiang Li said, “Ignore him next time; just take the document.”

Jiang Li opened his locker, intending to get his lab coat, and at a glance, he saw the Alpha’s coat hidden here.

I didn’t want to smell like roses.

I didn’t want any scents.

A polite Alpha shouldn’t have a pheromone scent, or they should be able to fully control their pheromones.

Jiang Li put on a gas filter to completely avoid inhaling toxic substances during experiments.

A pregnant Omega didn’t have a sensitive period, making it more convenient to focus on work.

But there might be a small problem: pregnant Omegas would crave the soothing pheromones of their mating Alphas. If the Alpha wasn’t around for a long time, they would feel sensitive and vulnerable.

The problem wasn’t significant; there were already drugs to address it.

Jiang Li currently feels fine.

In recent days, only Jiang Li and Gu Yunkai were often in Room 505. Gu Yunkai was interning in reproductive medicine, with regular hours from nine to five.

Wang Tianhu was in surgery and often worked night shifts at the hospital. Li Ruiyun moved out to live with his girlfriend.

With two roommates missing, Gu Yunkai’s chattering was directed at Jiang Li; even if the top student’s response was cold, he said his piece.

“Today, I encountered another couple’s argument.”

“An Omega finally got pregnant, hoping her husband would transfer back because she needed her husband’s pheromones. The Alpha refused, claiming he was in a career advancement period, and asked the Omega to take pheromone suppressants.”

“This Omega refused to take them, worsening her mood.”

“The Alpha was also a scumbag. Before his wife got pregnant, he would fly back for every check-up, saying he would transfer when she got pregnant. But when she did get pregnant, he changed his mind, wanting to stay there to strive for promotion. The Omega threatened to have an abortion before he came back.”

“The Omega is only two weeks pregnant, precisely the first peak period of craving Alpha pheromones. The eight elders gathered at the hospital to quarrel, asking our director to arbitrate. The director had to call the security.”

“Two weeks pregnant, huh?” Jiang Li said.

Gu Yunkai, excited that the top student was not only listening but also speaking, continued, “Yeah, two to four weeks is the first peak period because it’s the first time they are not used to it.”

Jiang Li fell silent.

It had been two weeks for him too. Why did he feel okay? And he hadn’t thought about taking suppressants?

Hey, does the cub really exist?
