Chapter 19 2/2
“Find the video of the caregiver entering the underground city. ‘Later, compare it. I need concrete evidence.’ Re-watching the footage, I see the caregiver with his coat on his head, similar in almost every way to Jiang Li wearing his coat.
Yu Zhaoye: ‘Wouldn’t he know as soon as he pushes the door? ‘
Cen Lang: ‘What if he doesn’t push the door? ‘
Yu Zhaoye looked at both screens and said, ‘Hmm, they both seem calm.’ By now, Jiang Li had moved to the front, with three more people until it was his turn. In front of him were a stepfather and daughter, a cheerful and talkative Alpha stepfather and a delicate Omega girl.
The stepfather enthusiastically talked about how much the little girl admired heroes; her biological father was also in the space force, and the nanny told her stories about the space force every day.
“Tsk, my wife doesn’t like the child mentioning her ex-husband or the space force. We divorced because of the frequent separations.”
“But what’s wrong if the child likes her dad? I heard the heroes in the underground city might have treated her dad. The child insisted on coming, so I had to accompany her.”
Jiang’s gaze fell on the girl’s face, pale due to congenital deficiency, with big, bright eyes full of admiration when looking at the underground city.
When it was her turn, the little girl followed the stepfather, walking in with anticipation. Jiang Li suddenly became absent-minded. Would his child in the future also admire the space force like this little girl?
“He’s daydreaming,” Yu Zhaoye said.
To create an illusion of “I can do it” for various spies, there were no surveillance and guards in the entrance corridor. Cen Lang: ‘Say something useful.’
Yu Zhaoye: ‘Standing at the door and still daydreaming means he doesn’t care about you inside.’
Cen Lang:
Yu Zhaoye felt a bit pleased; his gaze swept around Jiang Li, and when he saw the father-daughter pair, his expression suddenly changed. ‘Damn, stop them; this guy wants to murder.’
The father and daughter had reached the end of the corridor. The stepfather’s hand was on the girl’s shoulder, showing a gesture of pushing forward with hidden excitement. Just as the words fell, Cen Lang immediately disappeared.
Jiang Li, waiting behind, was next. Unless they came together, everyone went in alone.
“You can’t go in!” Jiang Chuan heard the Alpha stepfather shout.
No, he had pushed that door, and only adults could push it. Jiang Li’s face changed abruptly; with that little girl’s body, she would faint in three seconds.
He immediately ran down, simultaneously injecting the needle into his own pain nerve. He had trained this step many times and could execute it accurately in any unexpected situation.
The stepfather was now crying with his head in his hands, looking like he wanted to go in and pull the child out but was in too much pain to move.
Jiang Li didn’t hesitate; he forcefully pushed the door, and in an instant, darkness and piercing pain struck simultaneously. Jiang Fu bit his lip, found the convulsing girl, and picked her up.
Wrapped in thick clothes, the girl was not light—over sixty kilograms. Jiang Chuan’s forehead sweated, holding the child with one hand and pushing the door with the other.
The door opened a crack, and Jiang Fu lost his balance, kneeling directly, seeing the big door about to close again. In an instant, a hand swiftly blocked the door, and Jiang Li’s knees didn’t hit the ground, falling into someone’s arms.
Cen Lang kicked the pretending stepfather, flying five or six meters away.
He caught Jiang Li, carrying the girl in his arms up the steps.
The metal door closed behind them, and the girl stopped convulsing and breathing rapidly.
Jiang Li half-knelt, grabbed the girl’s wrist, and checked her pulse. She was fine; that was good.
In just a few seconds, the bodyguards subdued the stepfather. The others looked at Jiang Li with concern; daring to go in and save someone was truly admirable.
The crowd outside became restless, asking, ‘What happened? ‘ and ‘What’s going on? ‘
In the center of attention, Jiang Li recalled the little Jiang Jun standing on the stage for the first time.
Is he sick? ][Too smelly? [There are insect eggs on his clothes, and they’ll turn into bugs tomorrow.]
His lips quickly lost blood color, breathing was difficult, and cold sweat dripped. In everyone’s eyes, Jiang Li looked like someone who had just survived a disaster. Cen Lang supported Jiang Li, his eyes filled with regret and self-reproach.
He regretted setting up this trap; if Jiang Jun hadn’t come, he wouldn’t have been attacked by his pheromones. Jiang Li seemed much more painful than Cen Lang had anticipated.
“Does it hurt a lot? I’m sorry.” Cen Lang touched the cold sweat on Jiang Jun’s forehead and lifted him up. “You were inside for a short time; there won’t be any aftereffects. Don’t be afraid.”
Jiang Li, in a half-panic, had no strength left, letting Cen Lang carry him into the room. Continuing to be surrounded by people and watching would trigger his panic disorder.
If only little Jiang Li could be lifted from the filthy ditch by someone…
The first person to comfort him was the one who intentionally caused him pain.
Looking at the Alphas entering and leaving the underground city unscathed, Jiang Chuan discreetly put away the needle.
“You helped me, and I helped you.
You deceived me, and I deceived you.
It’s reluctantly considered settled.”
The room flashed with computers, and Jiang Fu was placed in the inner room, which only had a bed and a desk. Cen Lang rolled up the bedding on the bed, threw it away, and replaced it with a new one. He stared into Jiang Li’s eyes and asked, “Do you want to call a doctor?”
Jiang Li shook his head. “No need; I’ll sit for a while, and I’ll be fine.”
Cen Lang: “I’ll go deal with things outside; you lie down. No one will disturb you.”
Jiang Li: “Okay.”
Cen Lang walked out briskly; the bodyguards threw the stepfather into the underground city. Only then did Cen Lang personally drag him out. His kick had made the man spit blood, and now he was venting more and inhaling less. Cen Lang kicked him again. “Tell the investigators to take him away.”
“The little girl has been sent to the sanatorium,” the bodyguard said.
After giving instructions, Cen Lang did not go directly to Jiang Li, seemingly reflecting.
Yu Zhaoye’s smile was radiant; the truly interesting part of today had arrived.
“You’ve been probing him effortlessly, not anxious about the results, because in your heart, you feel he is; you hope he is.” “He isn’t, tsk; your expression is like the sky is falling,” Cen Lang said expressionlessly. “I suggest Professor Yu re-study as an undergraduate.”
Ignoring Yu Zhaoye, he continued enthusiastically, “Just a caregiver, what important intersection could be formed?” “What you really care about is that he can’t be immune to your pheromones like that caregiver.” Cen Lang turned his head, revealing a smile, a friendly reminder, “It’s time to clock out.” Yu Zhaoye instantly felt a headache; damn the stinky Alpha who couldn’t play. But he held grudges, and even with a broken body, he must finish speaking.
“Subconsciously, what you care about is that you like him, but you can never go into heat for him.”
Cen Lang: “…
Are criminal psychologists all this outrageous? “
