Chapter 28 2/2
On the ground, another person half-knelt, patting the shoulder of their companion, urgently calling out.
In the vast universe, there were not only warships navigating but also various commercial spacecraft, following recognized interstellar trade routes and avoiding conflict zones. Commercial ships might deviate from their course due to getting lost, malfunctioning parts, encountering cosmic storms, or other reasons, forcing them to make emergency landings.
The clothes of the two individuals were ordinary, resembling traders. Perhaps they had collided with the tail of a meteor shower, and it took them two days to find a suitable landing spot, suffering injuries in the process.
Jiang Chuan watched without moving.
From a medical perspective, the person lying on the ground seemed to be acting a bit fake.
In recent years, a new profession had emerged: interstellar pirates. Wealthy individuals who couldn’t make it on Earth hired mercenaries to escape into space, disguised as lost merchant ships seeking help. They would then hijack warships and establish a base in remote and desolate areas.
The universe was vast, making it challenging to catch them.
Seeing Jiang Chuan ignoring them, the uninjured person, carrying their companion, approached Bai Yan step by step. The concentration of Alpha pheromones they emitted was astonishingly high. If a lower-ranking Alpha opened the door, they would be instantly suppressed and unable to move by the pheromones.
The uninjured person began to plead for help towards the warship, and when the warship remained unresponsive, they angrily used a stone to strike its hull.
Jiang Fu: ?
Too much, he had just applied flame retardant.
Before he could order an eviction, the person seeking help suddenly howled on the ground, holding their head and rolling, while the other who was playing dead also jumped up, lively and spirited, pretending to be in pain.
This silent torment of pheromones… Cen Lang was back! Jiang Fu quickly found Cen Lang behind a pile of rocks, blending into the night.
Jiang Fu flashed the flying light on the top of the warship, implying whether he could open the door.
Cen Lang’s sharp gaze accurately looked at the warship’s window. He knew Jiang was right behind.
The two exchanged silent glances, and from those falcon-like sharp eyes, Jiang Fu saw a color even darker than the darkness. After a long time, Cen Lang made a gesture of “cannot open the door.”
Jiang Fu saw Cen Lang take two steps and sit on a high pile of rocks, knees bent, arms resting on his knees, lost in thought. Cen Lang didn’t care about the two fainted individuals, staring deeply at the warship, as if locking onto some prey. Around him, due to the recent use of a pheromone storm, the air was filled with the strongest Alpha pheromones.
At first, Cen Lang didn’t notice the smell of disinfectant.
It wasn’t until his pheromones ruthlessly overwhelmed and expelled the pheromones of the other two Alphas, leaving only one scent, that Cen Lang fell silent.
According to an unverified saying, the most loyal and powerful Alpha should have discreet and tasteless pheromones, only differentiating when detecting what their beloved Omega needs. This widely considered a fabrication in romance dramas turned out to be true.
Cen Lang, due to excessive anxiety that Jiang Chuan couldn’t take a bath, underwent a second pheromone differentiation.
His pheromones were no longer pure.
Unable to deceive himself any longer, Cen Lang gritted his teeth. He had dreamed last night that Jiang Jun was disinfecting a certain indescribable part of him… quite annoying. Forgetting the spring dream forcibly couldn’t hide the liking. Now it was irrevocably confirmed.
He liked Jiang Fu.
“What you really care about is that you like Jiang, but you can never go into heat for him!” echoed the analysis of a certain criminal psychologist in his mind. Cen Lang fiercely crushed a stone.
Indeed… he could only sit on this high pile of rocks, relying on the isolation of the warship’s pheromones, to think recklessly about his liking.
He couldn’t even think about it in front of Jiang Fu, fearing that he couldn’t control his pheromones and harm him.
Jiang Fu was a Beta, not an Omega. He couldn’t risk marking Jiang Chuan, testing whether being marked would make Jiang Fu immune to his pheromone storms.
It seemed like a dead end in terms of love.
Cen Lang kicked a stone at his feet, and the rock pile tumbled down with a clatter. The signal transmitter had been adjusted, sending a signal to the nearest base. Cen Lang took out a communicator from his pocket, pressing his brows, looking at the signal strength on it.
One bar, two bars…
Only when it reached three bars could he contact the base.
Jiang Fu, looking through the window, watched Cen Lang not far away, speculating on what he was doing.
Why not come in? Because he used a pheromone storm, and opening the door would risk him being affected. However, with the wind blowing so strongly, and so much time having passed, the pheromones would have dissipated. Cen Lang was too responsible, overly cautious.
Cen Lang activated the pheromone storm; he would probably smell his mutated pheromones.
Jiang Fu contemplated. As a student of pheromone medicine, when Cen Lang’s pheromones mutated, he should consult him later.
How should he answer?
He didn’t know the answer; what should he do?
Cen Lang, seeing the communicator show three bars, immediately sent a location signal to the military base. Then, he sent an encrypted message, requesting the base to forward it to a criminal psychology expert on Earth.
It was three in the morning on Earth.
Yu Zhao Ye received the encrypted message from the military base, requiring an immediate response.
Did they catch some heavyweight interstellar fugitive? Various vicious criminal images flashed through Yu Zhao Ye’s mind. If they caught one, he would immediately go on a business trip for interrogation.
Yu Zhao Ye got out of bed immediately, using a special password device to decipher. The device meticulously translated Cen Lang’s message—[Professor Yu, do you think Jiang Fu can accept Plato?]
Yu Zhao Ye: “…”
Is he crazy?
The response to the news of going to Earth was slower. The base’s message came first, stating that the terrestrial forces were coincidentally chasing interstellar pirates near the Deer Star and had informed the land forces to go and assist.
Cen Lang, calm and composed, sat on the pile of rocks, waiting for Yu Zhao Ye’s analysis.
He was seventy percent sure about this.
If he couldn’t go into heat, then they could just hold hands, take suppressants during the sensitive period, and stay away from Jiang Bo. With Jiang Fu’s cleanliness, he probably wouldn’t like sex, right?
His pride in self-control, honed over twenty years of enduring pheromone storms, couldn’t be matched by any top-tier Alpha.
A perfect match.
