Chapter 6 2/2
Darkness, brilliantly surrounding him, fell in flakes on the young Alpha’s handsome face.
Sunglasses cast a shadow over the refined bridge of the nose, concealing a pair of sharp phoenix eyes.
Cen Lang lowered his gaze and saw a tube of shattered pheromones on the ground, almost completely evaporated.
He casually withdrew his gaze and ascended the steps.
“Sir!”
The bodyguard saw Cen Lang emerge from the shadows, and the contours of his face became clear in the starlight, almost bringing tears to his eyes.
The last time he saw such a handsome entrance was the last time!
It was when Madam appeared!
Cen Lang nodded. “You’ve worked hard.”
The bodyguard captain said, “Not hard!”
“The one who worked hard is not Sir… Lin Young Master!” The silly bodyguard urgently corrected himself. “He took care of you for two days and nights inside.”
Seeing that he didn’t get to the point, the bodyguard captain hurriedly reported, “Sir, Mr. Cen promised Young Master Lin that if he took care of you inside, he would be considered part of the Cen family from now on.”
Cen Lao didn’t play tricks. When he said the Cen family, he meant a substantial share of power.
Cen Lang raised an eyebrow and looked at the bodyguard. “Your name is Wang Wang.”
Bodyguard Wang Wang nodded. “Yes, Young Master Lin is currently hospitalized in the interstellar sanatorium.”
“Two days and nights… really?” Cen Lang lightly raised the corner of his mouth with a subtle smile. “Then let’s go see him.”
The bodyguard was excited; he was about to witness a legendary encounter between the Sir and the Madam!
An aircraft hovered in the open space, and after the group boarded, a blue light spun around, swiftly rising and flying towards the sanatorium.
In the time it takes to close one’s eyes, the aircraft stopped on the top floor of a building in the sanatorium.
The cold wind whistled, causing the black-shirted people coming down from the aircraft to shiver.
The bodyguard just noticed that Sir had been without a coat all this time; it must be cold outdoors.
Wait a minute… Did Madam take away the coat from this outfit?
Madam was so weak, and Sir was as strong as an ox; it was only natural for him to endure the cold.
Cen Lang paid no attention. Who knows why the coat from the set he put by the bedside was missing?
But there were many strange things; the coat incident could be set aside for now.
The Cen family is a major shareholder of the interstellar sanatorium, and the experts inside were brought in by Old Master Cen to treat his grandson’s pheromone storm.
Cen Lang took the elevator down from the top floor, directly to the third floor, where Lin Lu was staying, without entering the room but going to the adjacent room.
Each ward in the sanatorium is equipped with an observation room.
Cen Lang entered his credentials, and the image of the next room appeared in front of him.
The Lin family also knew that when they were on Cen’s turf, they had to be careful with their words and not mention the events in the past. Instead, they were gossiping about how Lin’s mother was rejected again.
Lin Father was angry: “I didn’t even enter the main gate with your mother, saying Mr. Jiang is resting and cannot see visitors.”
Lin Lu’s face didn’t look good either; being underestimated was embarrassing for the entire family. “What qualifications does he have not to give face even to Old Master Cen? Do you not want to be a transfer point anymore? Old Master Cen has promised us; when Cen Lang wakes up, it will be handed over. Just wait for it.”
Lin Mother lost all face; she had a habit that when her face was turned down, she would dig into the other party’s dark history, as if doing so could turn the tables.
Mockingly, she cursed, “What’s he so proud of? Don’t look at Mr. Jiang’s arrogance now. He eloped with a poor boy back then, and within two years, he came back dejectedly, kneeling at the Jiang family’s gate for three days and three nights. People from the entire block went to watch the excitement.”
Lin Lu really didn’t know this inside story, smiling and asking, “Couldn’t you endure the poor life?”
He couldn’t imagine a life without money. Admitting a mistake and bowing his head could restore his status. If it were him, he wouldn’t have eloped with a poor Alpha in the first place.
Lin Mother sneered, “Who knows?”
She patted Lin Lu’s head and said, “You must be strong; step on all the people above us.”
Lin Lu squinted his eyes. “Okay.”
Next door.
Cen Lang listened without changing his expression.
The bodyguard dared not even breathe.
He always thought that Madam and Sir were a perfect match—the most polite people in the world. Lin’s family—how strange they were in private.
Looking back at Cen Lang’s face, the bodyguard realized that his expression was the same as when he heard “took care of for two days and nights.”
That smile seemed gentle at first glance, but now the bodyguard felt a tingling sensation on his scalp.
Knock, knock, knock.
Lin’s family was discussing others privately, and when they heard the knock, they quieted down for a moment, adjusting their expressions before opening the door.
“Mr. Cen? You’re awake!” Lin Mother was pleasantly surprised; her eyes turned, and immediately she played the pitiful card, “Our little Lu, he…”
Cen Lang, wearing sunglasses, sounded very gentle. “I heard my son take care of me for two days.”
Lin Lu, “weak,” supported himself to sit up, his heart pounding.
Lin Mother, “As long as Mr. Cen can be cured—”
“Who said I’m okay?” Cen Lang said.
“Uh.”
Lin Mother awkwardly stopped.
Cen Lang’s gaze passed her, casually looking at Lin Lu.
On the bed, Lin Lu suddenly turned pale, his hand tightly gripping the bedsheet. After a while, he clutched his head and wailed.
Lin’s mother’s face changed; it seemed she remembered something. She quickly ran over, embraced her son, and spoke loudly to cover up something: “He has had occasional headaches since he came back. It’s just an aftereffect. It’s okay, it’s okay…”
Cen Lang leaned against the door frame and said, “It’s okay. Can I come in?”
Lin Mother gritted her teeth, tightly pinching Lin Lu’s arm. “Yes, of course you can…”
“No!” Lin Lu was almost in pain, tears streaming down. “Mom, it hurts so much.”
The closer it is, the more it hurts. One more step, and he would die.
Lin mother saw the sedative on the side and said coldly, “Silly child, what nonsense are you talking about?”
Cen Lang, “Just one percent.”
Lin Lu instantly collapsed. What his mother pinched didn’t have one percent of the pain he was feeling now. She didn’t know how painful it was; she only made him endure it. She should also taste it. He was afraid that one more second of pain would ruin his face. With resentment, he pleaded, “I confess! I went in and threw a tube of pheromones! I didn’t take care of you.”
Cen Lang calmly stated, “You can’t reach that position.”
With Lin Lu’s level, he couldn’t even open the outermost door.
He had tried Lin Lu at the restaurant. Green tea pheromones seemed to work, but Lin Lu couldn’t bear his pheromone storm at all.
Two days and two nights, telling jokes?
He didn’t know how the other person got into the inner room, but it definitely wasn’t Lin Lu.
Lin Lu was more desperate than anyone else, ignoring his mother’s obstruction, crying and begging, “It’s not me who went in; I found a substitute! I don’t want to know how scary that position is!”
He finally knew where his unease came from—his fear of the inherent fear in Cen Lang!
Cen Lang relieved the pressure, lifting his gaze and asking, “Who?”
